I was in a car accident and I was not wearing my seat belt and my airbag delayed when it came out and I hit more steering wheel than airbag after I hit the steering wheel then the airbag came out and whipped my head back. My car went over an embankment head first into train tracks but instead of calling the cops or anything I actually came to and drove my car home, somehow lol. It was totaled and the frame was bent.
I don't know if it makes a difference, but I've noticed that the headaches & nausea are worse in the light than in the dark. Also, I've been having trouble remembering things that I normally wouldn't forget. I also can't focus on reading. I feel like I've read some pages 10 times and not gotten anywhere.
I feel nauseated, but not like I'm going to puke. My neck still hurts, but I have a prior pinched nerve in my neck. My head just feels fuzzy.
I am a 59 year old woman. I have been experiencing intense tingling sensations throughout my body, heat intolerance, fatigue, dizziness, insomnia, and increased salivation. I had a fall in Jan. 2010 with a hairline fracture at C3 and concussion. I experienced a "thunderclap" headach in May 2010. I was sent to the ER. The MRI showed nothing. The LP showed only that I had a possible virus. I was also given ECG...and stress test. It is not cardiac.
The second one gave me a trip to the ER in a helicopter since they had trouble waking me up two days later. Did a CT and was told no blood and was placed on full rest for two days but ended up taking the full week off. (This is the second time I get a concussion with severe repercussion in 3 years).
She slept from 4 pm til 7am then next morning waking only for mins at a time. Wed she stayed home and slept most of the day not really eating. She went to sleep last night at 6 and slept til 7:30 then woke to eat alittle then back out at 8. She slept all night until 7 this morning. She is still complaining of a headache. I am not sure what is going on. She is not running a fever. Anyone have any suggestions? I called her Dr. and they just thought maybe it was a bug. I guess I am just worried.
I was involve in a very bad car accident 02/10 and have no memory of the actual wreck. the hospital deemed I have a severe concussion and then also diagnosed me with Post Concussion Syndrome. I am currently also experiencing back and neck problems as well as getting a collarbone checked out for a possible fracture.
My question is does coffee effect concussion and PCS recovery. And how long does recovery generally take.
I suffered a concussion on Jan. 3rd and had just a bad headache,a little dizziness and a lump on the back of my head. Then a few days to a week the dizziness got alot worse, i became unsteady on my feet, developed ringing in my ears, nausea and the headache got worse.
I've had an MRI and CT Scan and both were fine. Now I'm having a little problem with remembering names and other little things, plus I've noticed that loud noises and bright lights seem to bother me too.
I know the symptoms I have are a part of the concussion but they are bad (bec I already have the chiari symptoms) and it has been since Friday and I still feel HORRIBLE! I see a chiari specialist at the end of the month but in the mean time could this hitting my head on the wall possibly made things worse? (I did not have a ct for the concussion, the dr. just diagnosed me by my symptoms and what happened).
She was fine after it happened, and scared because she came running to me. For about two hours she played and ran around and acted normal. Now she is really tired, wobbly, cant stay awake and when she tries to play she just doesnt have enough energy to keep going. I cant get to a vet because it is labor day weekend and nobody is open.
One night I woke up and ran to the bathroom feeling as if I were getting ready to vomit, I prepared myself but nothing came out so I sat there for a little bit and tried to see if I had to empty the bowels, where I found myself to have diarrhea and after that episode I was fine and went back to sleep. The next night I woke up with another horrible nauseous feeling, but did not vomit. The same with the night after that, and even last night.
s been a year since his last concussion and he is making slow progress, but progress. Still has mood swings, ADD, and sleeplessness, but has made nice gains. He went on a flight to Scottland to visit a friend and seemed fine while in Scottland, but seemed to have regressed in symptoms when he returned home. Mood swings returned significantly and his choices and behaviors reflect significant impairment of executive function ability.
At times a subdural hematoma develops slowly and may be missed on the first MRI. Also concussion can cause persisting headaches and should be allowed to slowly subside before active sports are considered.
Injury to neck, to jaw bone, and even eyes should be considered. Get his eye sight also checked. May be the headaches are because he needs spectacles.

The impact of the ball caused the concussion, and the shape of his pupil is now oval. I took him to a pediatric opthamologist who did a thorough exam. He said there is no lasting damage other than the shape of the pupil, but he needed glasses. When he "recovered" from the concussion three weeks later, he tried to go back to baseball but could no longer judge the speed and distance of the ball. He had to quit. He has been moody and pesting ever since the concussion.
Each brain injury is unique and try to get some one who can listen to you and may be a concussion specialist if you can. I am even considering Stem Cell Therapy for which I have to travel outside U.S.A.

Probably you had a concussion and having Post Concussion effects. You can consult a Neuro-Otologist and Neurologist and see if you have any inner ear issues. Reason for dizziness can be very many. Get an MRI done to be safe.
The C1 was fractured in three places and he had a severe concussion concussion. Since then he’s had excessive saliva resulting in excessive coughing. He’s coughing several times a minute.
Is there any connection between brain trauma and excessive saliva?
My concussion occurred 37 days ago when I slipped and fell backwards hitting the back of my head on a turf surface. In terms of the concussion recovery, I've been working with a concussion therapist to employ the practices of slowly getting back into activities without provoking symptoms. Unfortunately, I haven't seen much progress and may even have my symptoms come on earlier. I believe that this is related to sleep and neck issues that began about 18-20 days into the recovery.
A doctor generally looks for focal neurological or generalized neurological symptoms that would show there is a pressure on brain somewhere. In absence of these symptoms and based on the history a diagnosis of concussion is given.

This then can be checked for the full year if there is any sort of injury to see if it is a concussion. Otherwise, you have to look for symptoms. re supposed to take it easy after a concussion and orgasm raises your BP and all. Most of my symptoms of the concussion have gone away, aside from double vision. Thoughts?
Did you have a concussion? Are you familiar with syncope and head concussion? I have been to three Neurologist and they think it is due to the concussion, but lean towards epilepsy. My daughter has had three cat scans, two eeg's and an MRI.
How long after a concussion is it normal to still be feeling nauseous and have difficulty with memory, balance etc. I got hit in the face with a softball 11 days ago and am still nauseous. Cannot stand on one leg with eyes closed, and have forgotten things like PIN numbers, passwords etc. is it too soon to expect these symptoms to be gone, or should I go back to the drs. I did also break my nose, which was realigned under local anaesthetic 6 days ago. No LOC. No actual vomiting.

Now 32yrs later, I was mugged, beaten and have suffered a serious concussion, my feet are hurting me more and the burning pain has gotten worst

I have a serious concussion and I have strained my trapiuses muscle... I also have osgood schlatters in one leg and I can't run with out getting dizzy due to the concussion... I really need to work out ... I have been out for a month ... Please and thank you !
They gave me medicine and it helped. Then I went to a neurologist and he said it was post concussion syndrome. Then I went to another neurologist and he said it was my ears. So I went to physical therapy and he said it wasn't my ears. I'm so confused now. Can someone please help??:( any suggestions on what it is? Or is it pcs? I've had mris cts eegs and tons of bloodwork everything was normal.
I am a concussion survivor. Could you get a concussion if your head stops suddenly from a fast movement?
Yesterday I was in a hurry and running and pushed the door in front of me. It stopped abruptly which caused my body to stop too. Could this cause a concussion? I'm scared because I am recovering from a concussion already. Does it make me more prone to brain injury?
