1100598 tn?1413127426 Hi Dr. Santos. I saw my neurologist on Dec. 7th and she increased my Topamax and gave me a migraine diary and told me to eliminate certain foods. She also gave me a prescription for self-administered toradol shots. A few days later I had a severe migraine and ended up in the ER for IV pain medication(torodol, fenadol) (I didn't have my prescription yet) and had to go back the next day as well. I called my neurologist, who asked them to do a CT scan, which came up normal.

Avatar m tn After a month and a half of these adjustments 3 times a week, we gave up on it and I stuck to medication and physical therapy. I would like to be able to return to school soon being that this time in my life is critical to my future and I'm wondering if my condition is reversable. If the atlas is what was knocked out of place during my concussion, is there a way to make it permanently stay in place?

Avatar f tn I know the symptoms I have are a part of the concussion but they are bad (bec I already have the chiari symptoms) and it has been since Friday and I still feel HORRIBLE! I see a chiari specialist at the end of the month but in the mean time could this hitting my head on the wall possibly made things worse? (I did not have a ct for the concussion, the dr. just diagnosed me by my symptoms and what happened).

Avatar n tn Anticonvulsants, antidepressants, antipsychotics, pain medication, and medication to help with movement. So if he is having ongoing issues he needs to see a specialist, likely a neurologist. I know one person that went from almost vegetative to about 80% function, some anger and agitation when things get stressful so improvement is possible. Your BF also needs to quit doing whatever it is that is causing the multiple concussions. You only have one brain and it can only take so much abuse.
Avatar f tn Her pediatrician has said that she can suffer from side effects for a year or so. Is this true? She is having a lot of pain and pressure in the area of the scarring. I am really starting to get worried. I cannot get a doctor to do any scans to check her out. Am I just an overworring mom or is there something to this?
Avatar n tn what does it mean when you slip and fall and hit your head off the floor and now you are having shooting pain throughout your head, neck, and jaw. And also you are very dizzy and shaking?

Avatar n tn But, I never had the bottom of my feet stop hurting, burning feeling Now 32yrs later, I was mugged, beaten and have suffered a serious concussion, my feet are hurting me more and the burning pain has gotten worst i read now that those that get GB have blood transfer, etc...........
Avatar f tn Emotional distress can cause some of the symptoms you describe. For instance, does the pain go away if you lie down and relax? These symptoms can also be from long-standing degenerative problems that had nothing to do with your concussion. You would be wise to follow up with your personal doctor who can order an Xray to see what's going on in there.
Avatar m tn I think I aggravated my neck several times since the initial injury and developed some significant pain/stiffness in my upper back and neck. This stiffness/pain caused my head to hurt wherever it made contact with the pillow. I've seen two athletic therapist, two RMTs, a physiotherapist and a chiropractor. I've had some relief with these therapies but the issue has remained.
Avatar m tn I would like to suggest that you pursue your head injury and the concussion first. Consult a neurologist first and get an MRI scan done and visualize any collected blood and correlate clinically. The symptoms have to be checked against MRI findings and any details missed on either. Fix an appointment with the optometrist at a later date, say a wee later, if it was just for errors of refraction. Take care.
Avatar m tn I was involve in a very bad car accident 02/10 and have no memory of the actual wreck. the hospital deemed I have a severe concussion and then also diagnosed me with Post Concussion Syndrome. I am currently also experiencing back and neck problems as well as getting a collarbone checked out for a possible fracture. My question is does coffee effect concussion and PCS recovery. And how long does recovery generally take.
8506420 tn?1398432580 Please take your kitten to the vet as soon as possible. Your vet needs to examine the cat and can give a steroid medication to cut down on brain swelling. This needs to be done quickly before this injury starts causing more symptoms.
Avatar f tn The pain is intermittent but when it comes it stays for days and is a bothering dull pain. If I press on the spot the pain doesn`t change but I do have a spot that is more sensitive when pressed (like a bruise would feel). I don`t have any fever, I do have sinus congestion (but there is a cold going around and i suffer from chronic sinusitis). My concussions were on top of my head and on the left side. I have trouble concentrating but that most likely is a post concussion effet.
1983058 tn?1527442254 The doctor determined by x-ray that he did aspirate. So he started IV fluids, sedation and pain medication, antibiotics, and steroids for the concussion. I believe he said that he did put a nasal catheter in for oxygen treatment as well. He said that his condition was guarded. I know that there is no way that anyone can give me assurance that is concrete but any would surely be wonderful. I will not hear anything until tomorrow by 10 a.m. . Does anyone have any experience in this area?
Avatar f tn I personally talked to few people with concussion/TBI and they all went through depression, suicidal thoughts and at some point got out of it. Good luck.
Avatar m tn Our systems respond differently to different medications. A good physician will work with you to determine the best medication to control your pain and symptoms. There is no right answer for which drug works best. I hope that you will keep us updated and let us know how you are doing. We are here to support you and offer suggestions. We all learn from one another. Please keep in touch. I hope you are able to find good pain management in the very near future.
Avatar m tn I went to the doctor 4 days later after symptoms were still present and they said I had a concussion. They performed a CT scan and said everything was FINE! I was relieved to hear this. Every so often, I "tweak" the concussion in various ways, but haven't had too many symptoms other than headaches and neck/back aches.

Avatar f tn I have struggled with anxiety for awhile with no medication, and right now I have had post-concussion symptoms for 2 weeks. Something has happened that triggered my anxiety tonight and I haven't been able to sleep, I have a numb sensation through my body, I'm lightheaded, I'm shaking/trembling badly, and I'm sick to my stomach. Is this an anxiety attack or should I see a doctor to check on my post-concussion syndrome? HELP!
Avatar f tn Today, I was volunteering for something and I had to stand up for hours with only a few breaks, and I got a small pain in my head/eyes and I slept for a few hours afterwards. Do I have a slight concussion? Should I go to the doctor?
