Avatar f tn When my final year of college started last fall, I would only have occasional nightmares when I was sleeping alone, and I would be fine if I was spending the night with my boyfriend (we started dating in the early fall after being good friends for years). However, for the past two- three weeks, the nightmares have been every night and I wake up in the early mornings very scared.
Avatar f tn G'day. I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right area-don't know where else to put it. I've had a concussion for about 9 days now with "usual, mild-average" symptoms. The last couple days have been like the first couple days, cannot rest my head at night from the pain, taking two 650 mg Tylenols when I think of it, also seem more confused & forgetful (before major loss of sleep). The last 48 hrs. I've slept for 40 min's.
Avatar f tn They gave me medicine and it helped. Then I went to a neurologist and he said it was post concussion syndrome. Then I went to another neurologist and he said it was my ears. So I went to physical therapy and he said it wasn't my ears. I'm so confused now. Can someone please help??:( any suggestions on what it is? Or is it pcs? I've had mris cts eegs and tons of bloodwork everything was normal.
Avatar f tn when I almost fell, someone smacked my left cheek hard and woke me up where it was not black anymore but I felt woosy and my head hurt badly. on and off my head has been hurting sometimes really badly and I get woosy where I almost fall asleep. How worried should I be and what could be wrong?! Avatar n tn She then attempted to vomit unsuccesfully many times before fading in and out of concsiousness. Is that concussion or is it more serious??
3161076 tn?1343698755 Does a head concussion cause a person to sleep a lot? I got into an accident and hit my head 2 months ago, last week i fell down the stairs and hit my head on the wall, now I'm sleeping a lot, what does that mean?
Avatar n tn Even if it's not a concussion it's always better to play it safe than sorry with head related issues. I'd, at the least, call a doctor for some advice. Hope it turns out alright.
Avatar m tn I was involve in a very bad car accident 02/10 and have no memory of the actual wreck. the hospital deemed I have a severe concussion and then also diagnosed me with Post Concussion Syndrome. I am currently also experiencing back and neck problems as well as getting a collarbone checked out for a possible fracture. My question is does coffee effect concussion and PCS recovery. And how long does recovery generally take.
Avatar f tn My 9 week old pup fell off chair and banged her head and she sleeping alot what could be wrong
Avatar m tn I have trouble sleeping them sleep for 12 hours but not sleep, not rest. shoot writing this is torcher but I have to find help.
Avatar f tn I had a metal iron shelf fall on my head at work 4 months ago, got a concussion and ended up with post traumatic concussion syndrome. He needs to go to the doctor!!!!! He needs to have a CT or MRI to check for headbleeding then he needs to see a neurologist and let them run test!!!!! It's so important. They told me if I hit my head again I'll have permanent damage.
Avatar m tn My concussion occurred 37 days ago when I slipped and fell backwards hitting the back of my head on a turf surface. In terms of the concussion recovery, I've been working with a concussion therapist to employ the practices of slowly getting back into activities without provoking symptoms. Unfortunately, I haven't seen much progress and may even have my symptoms come on earlier. I believe that this is related to sleep and neck issues that began about 18-20 days into the recovery.
Avatar f tn My daughter is 16 and has been going thru an illness where she vomits a lot, GI drs can't find anything wrong and labeled her with IBS. Above not feeling well she can't sleep. Says she lays awake until wee hours of the night or falls asleep but can't stay asleep. Whatever her illness is this non-sleeping is not helping. The insomnia came with the vomiting. This start in April ... she was 'ok' in July/Aug little to no vomiting but she still wasn't sleeping good ...
Avatar m tn Hm, I'd talk to your doctor. Is the insomnia still going on? One of the best things for insomnia after head injury is CBT or cognitive behavioral therapy. Basically paying really close attention to your sleep hygiene and things you do before bed. Limit caffeine is a no brainer (sorry for pun) and making sure not to do activating things leading up to bed as well. Use of marijuana is really such that there is limited information no matter if it is all the rage or not.
Avatar n tn I hit it somewhat hard, but I have hit it harder in the past. I do remember the fall and everything afterwards. I did not get sick either. However, 2 days later i have a bad headache, sore neck all over, and I had nausea earlier. I do not have any sort of cognitive issues though. Could this be a concussion? I do get migraines, and this headache does feel a bit like a migraine, but I am worried because I did hit my head. Should I be concerned?
Avatar f tn Last friday I suffered a concussion as a result of being stupid (falling over when I went to plop into bed and hit the wall). I hit the top of my head on the wall and hard! I did not pass out however. My doctor said I have a concussion. Anyway, a few years back I had a sub occiptial decompression laminectomy c1 as a result of Arnold Chiari Malformation.
Avatar f tn I suffered a concussion on Jan. 3rd and had just a bad headache,a little dizziness and a lump on the back of my head. Then a few days to a week the dizziness got alot worse, i became unsteady on my feet, developed ringing in my ears, nausea and the headache got worse. I've had an MRI and CT Scan and both were fine. Now I'm having a little problem with remembering names and other little things, plus I've noticed that loud noises and bright lights seem to bother me too.
Avatar f tn She slept from 4 pm til 7am then next morning waking only for mins at a time. Wed she stayed home and slept most of the day not really eating. She went to sleep last night at 6 and slept til 7:30 then woke to eat alittle then back out at 8. She slept all night until 7 this morning. She is still complaining of a headache. I am not sure what is going on. She is not running a fever. Anyone have any suggestions? I called her Dr. and they just thought maybe it was a bug. I guess I am just worried.
Avatar f tn Roll a towel and place it under your neck while sleeping on the back and between head and shoulder when lying on the side. Initially this will be uncomfortable but with time the acupressure will do wonders. Use an analgesic cream or spray. Anti-inflammatory drugs help. Hope these tips help. If symptoms persist consult an orthopedic specialist and a neurologist. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar f tn i was at the wrong place, wrong time and 10 guys used my head as a soccer ball, i suffered a major concussion about 8 months ago, it took me about 3 to 4 weeks to recover. i had major dizzy spells and light headedness, to vomiting and trauma. after my recover everything went back to normal and i thank the man upstairs for fully recover.
Avatar m tn Fortunately, I did not go all the way over. I dove off the bike. However, I did suffer a concussion and a few broken bones from bouncing around in the trees. After the crash, I'd try to sleep while reliving the accident and how lucky I was to survive. I would envision the accident and startle myself awake. So, I suspected this would subside with time. It hasn't, and it's been nearly a year. Now, I am having dizzy spells during the day.
Avatar f tn Symptoms had increased over time, but the pressure, migraines, and sensitivity to certain sounds were almost unbearable. I moved to a city with a concussion specialist and have started Amantadine for my initial treatment. Pressure is gone while on the med, migraines reduced, clarity and organization in my thoughts, no irritability or sensitivity to sounds. It has dramatically improved the quality of my life! Best wishes!
Avatar m tn s been a year since his last concussion and he is making slow progress, but progress. Still has mood swings, ADD, and sleeplessness, but has made nice gains. He went on a flight to Scottland to visit a friend and seemed fine while in Scottland, but seemed to have regressed in symptoms when he returned home. Mood swings returned significantly and his choices and behaviors reflect significant impairment of executive function ability.
