I think I aggravated my neck several times since the initial injury and developed some significant pain/stiffness in my upper back and neck. This stiffness/pain caused my head to hurt wherever it made contact with the pillow. I've seen two athletic therapist, two RMTs, a physiotherapist and a chiropractor. I've had some relief with these therapies but the issue has remained.

that was four days ago. since that time the back of my neck is staying stiff and swelled. also, the laceration site that was sewed up has swelled and my head is starting to hurt more. is this commonplace?

Every so often, I "tweak" the concussion in various ways, but haven't had too many symptoms other than headaches and neck/back aches.

from next day again same issue not getting sleep even taking sleeping pills. neck pain and ear weird feeling and light headache/drowsiness. eyes are not feeling like tired. neck feels heavy/pain. Please adive me what i need to get good sleep.

I was involve in a very bad car accident 02/10 and have no memory of the actual wreck. the hospital deemed I have a severe concussion and then also diagnosed me with Post Concussion Syndrome. I am currently also experiencing back and neck problems as well as getting a collarbone checked out for a possible fracture. My question is does coffee effect concussion and PCS recovery. And how long does recovery generally take.

Last Aug (09) I had a concussion/neck injury which left me with post concussion symptoms that subsided in Nov. The neck injury has been an ongoing problem with pain. With it has been the rocking sensation that is in sync with my heart beat. Had MRIs of head and neck (shows DDD bulging discs in neck, pinched nerve), Audiology exams (clear), Neurologist exam and Steroid Injs in neck.

Now completely symptom free(balance/strength/headaches/dizziness)-most of his symptoms were due to neck injury(whiplash occurring w/concussion)-((search whiplash injury and headaches(C2,C3 cervical spine injury) )) I'm sure your son's neck is tight or has restricted range of motion.

Extremely irritable as the smallest of things seem to enrage me. Not emblematic of my normal behavior..3. Morning headaches and sporadic neck pain throughout the day. 4. My 5 year old daughter is a squad gymnast and yesterday while trying to do a backwards walk over we heard a big crack from her back or neck. She didn’t cry but it did scare her a bit and she said it was a bit sore but then continued playing. Today I gave her a hug and heard another small crack which has never happened before. what does it mean when you slip and fall and hit your head off the floor and now you are having shooting pain throughout your head,neck, and jaw. And also you are very dizzy and shaking?

I was in a car accident 15 years ago, walked around w/pain and got therapy, etc... and finally found out that I had a broken neck! I got a fusion from C2-C6. It is important to look further if you are still having pain, because it can mean the difference between a good result and not. Keep me posted.

At times a subdural hematoma develops slowly and may be missed on the first MRI. Also concussion can cause persisting headaches and should be allowed to slowly subside before active sports are considered. Injury to neck, to jaw bone, and even eyes should be considered. Get his eye sight also checked. May be the headaches are because he needs spectacles. -Take care!

I wake up in severe pain everyday, and if I move my neck the wrong way or sleep the wrong way, I am severly dizzy all day. This has been very dibilatating during the past two years. I spent months in physical therapy and there was no real relief. I also get trigger point injections every couple of months, but nothing is permanent. The pain also goes down my left arm with numbness. All of my mri's and other tests have come back fine.

I got a concussion about a month ago during a dance performance and, while I no longer feel like there is a veil over my world, I am now experiencing headaches that feel like sinus headaches running from the base of my skull up over the right side of my head and down into my right eye/nose. Just 30 minutes ago, I felt the back of my neck burning, smelled the aroma of rubbing alcohol intensely in my nostrils and felt like I might throw up or pass out.

I don't know if it makes a difference, but I've noticed that the headaches & nausea are worse in the light than in the dark. Also, I've been having trouble remembering things that I normally wouldn't forget. I also can't focus on reading. I feel like I've read some pages 10 times and not gotten anywhere. I feel nauseated, but not like I'm going to puke. My neck still hurts, but I have a prior pinched nerve in my neck. My head just feels fuzzy.

I had a concussion/memory loss and head, back and neck pain. Everything is starting to feel better, but I also have a pain behind my eye that is persisting. A doctor told me that there is a nerve that was causing the pain. It's been three weeks and no change. I'm following up next week to find out next steps. Have you had any progress?

m kind of fed up and tired of feeling this way... headache, fatigue, jaw pain, etc. I am supposed to see a neurologist on 3/13, but the girl in his office said not to tell him I had been involved in a MVA because he won't see me if he knows. I just don't know where to go from here. I've never been hurt in a MVA before and just feel like I'm getting the "run around" from everyone. Do you have any suggestions for me? I sure would appreciate some advice. Thank you.

I thought nothing of it and went home. Now I wake up everyday with a headache, pain in my neck and feeling dizzy. As the day progresses the pain and dizziness go away, but cycle starts again after I've woken up. Should I be worried?

I fell down about 14 steel stairs coming off of guard duty in Afghanistan in full kit. I was knocked out for a min or so and figured I just had whiplash and a concussion but after 3 days of basically no sleep and a baseball size welt on my neck I was medivaced to a hospital where I had an MRI and the neurosurgeon said I had some torn ligaments in between my C3-C4-C5. I was in a neckbrace for 7 weeks and was having bad muscle spasms so I had botox injections in my neck and shoulder.

Now I have lost the ability to grasp with my hands and have very sharp pain in my right hand and fingers and have been tested for carpal tunnel and pinched nerve, which I do not have. Xrays and Tests also proved negative for depression, lupus, MS, arthritis, and other neuro or rheumatoid diseases.

I got dizzy and my neck hurt a little now but nothing serious, and I suspect the dizziness might come from my obsessive worrying of concussions and maybe due to the inner middle ear getting shaken around or something? This just really bothers me, can the brain really crash into the skull by a simple movement from the body a.ka. the neck? I heard that rotational concussions are the worst :( Thanks in advance!

My head hurt right after and I had on and off headaches yesterday. I was also dizzy and felt a little nauseous. Last night and today my neck has been feeling very painful. It hurts in the back and especially in the front by my windpipe and on the sides. Other then the neck pain none of the other symptoms remain. Should I get it checked out? Is it a concussion what do you think?

Hello,,i have swelling tween clavicle,along sides of neck and base as well,,these lumps seem to move to various areas with movements i make or dont make,,swelling hasnt gone down in ovr a week,,it used to come and go,now it just stays,,pain at back of skull,round jaws and bac of ears as well,,am scheduled for neck surgery,but doc says this not cause of swelling,,they found 3 spots on my brain,,undiagnosed,,im at my wits end,,any help is appreciated,,i wake up feelin like i have a hangover almost

slowly move your head neck to the right and the to the left around 3 times a day. Take your pain medicine when needed. Take a walk for 5min. once a day and then increase the walk to twince a day gently swinging your arms. sleep on your side with a rolled up towel in your pillow. take naps and rest off and on during the day. I am recovering from a high impack car accident of neck strain and whip lash. Feeling better from mild concussion and Post concussion symdrome.
