s been a year since his last concussion and he is making slow progress, but progress. Still has mood swings, ADD, and sleeplessness, but has made nice gains. He went on a flight to Scottland to visit a friend and seemed fine while in Scottland, but seemed to have regressed in symptoms when he returned home. Mood swings returned significantly and his choices and behaviors reflect significant impairment of executive function ability.
my boyfriend suffered multiple concussions and post concussion before he suffered a couple within the last month. my main concern is his extreme borderline personality symptoms thathe now has. he is still healing from the injuries so understandably his symptoms are more serious but my main concern is if it may not subside overtime but if it will, how long will it take cause it is alot for me to handle. are there any treatments for him to take.
m feeling a little depressed and also mood swings. Do you think this is from the concussion? And if so, if I got an MRI would it show anything?
10 days ago I suffered a concussion due to a fall after fainting. We don't know how long I was unconscious (I was alone), but it was no more than 10-15 minutes. I was unable to remember anything regarding the actual injury (i.e. where I hit the back of my head) or my trip to the hospital and the ER until about an hour before I was discharged. I 'lost" about 3 hours in total.
How are you feeling now? Have you seen a doctor about this? It almost sounds like you may have gotten a concussion besides injuring your shoulder. Because of the headaches, difficultly with memory, trouble concentrating, nausea, feeling "fuzzy," sleep changes, visual changes, I suggest you get checked out by a doctor, preferably a neurologist if you can...otherwise your PCP.
Prozac is of course well known for personality changes. Can happen with any antidepressant, but again, well known with Prozac. Withdrawal is less common than with other antidepressants. but also can happen, and can happen later than one expects because Prozac lasts in the body much longer than other ssris, which leave within hours, so withdrawal can happen at a later time. But I would say, with nursegirl, that drugs won't solve anything, they just might make you not care as much.
Each brain injury is unique and try to get some one who can listen to you and may be a concussion specialist if you can. I am even considering Stem Cell Therapy for which I have to travel outside U.S.A.

I personally talked to few people with concussion/TBI and they all went through depression, suicidal thoughts and at some point got out of it.

When she was nine another child accidentiaily bumped her in the head, she passed out, we took her to the ER, she was diagnosed with a concussion. Could this have created an issue and what can we do to help resolve it?
He was intoxicated when he suffered the concussion and was admitted to hospital. While at the hospital he was put on an IV and he did not know where he was. He thought he was in Spain despite being in Nottingham. The doctor wanted to keep him in overnight but the idiot best man did he best to get my husband released after a few hours. I was not there so I do not know what the doctor recommended for after care and as the best man was intoxicated as well only god know what was advised.
m desperate for advice on my situation, regarding my concussions, and the results following them. Earlier in March, I had a concussion working at home, and had the natural brain fog that comes with it, so I tried to rest as much as possible even though I was still working. Unfortunately while I was still dealing with the effects from the first, I hit my head 3 other times, making things obviously much worse. I had a ct scan after the first 2, with no actual noted findings.
Results was I have a concussion, now post concussion syndrom .I have some pressure in my forehead and headaches on the front and side of my forehead. I do have a Neurologist I'm seeing. I'm looking for another opinion. Thank You. in land of Lincoln.
I was involve in a very bad car accident 02/10 and have no memory of the actual wreck. the hospital deemed I have a severe concussion and then also diagnosed me with Post Concussion Syndrome. I am currently also experiencing back and neck problems as well as getting a collarbone checked out for a possible fracture.
My question is does coffee effect concussion and PCS recovery. And how long does recovery generally take.
My concussion occurred 37 days ago when I slipped and fell backwards hitting the back of my head on a turf surface. In terms of the concussion recovery, I've been working with a concussion therapist to employ the practices of slowly getting back into activities without provoking symptoms. Unfortunately, I haven't seen much progress and may even have my symptoms come on earlier. I believe that this is related to sleep and neck issues that began about 18-20 days into the recovery.
