concussion

Avatar f tn It’s kind of dull and achy but I also get random shock like pain, on top of my head ache. My leg goes numb sometimes and recently some of my back started going numb.(right leg, lower right back) If anyone else has these symptoms or any advice please let me know.
Avatar n tn But, I never had the bottom of my feet stop hurting, burning feeling Now 32yrs later, I was mugged, beaten and have suffered a serious concussion, my feet are hurting me more and the burning pain has gotten worst i read now that those that get GB have blood transfer, etc...........
Avatar m tn The pain and uncomfort forced me to see a doctor who advised that I strained the calve muscle and had to use crutches. When I stand on the leg, it seems to swell slightly and the veins stands out and swells, particularly below the knee on the front inside of the calve and once I take the pressure off the leg and relax it the vein swelling subsides. The leg at the knee is still quite stiff and the pain has subsided only slightly.
Avatar n tn I have a serious concussion and I have strained my trapiuses muscle... I also have osgood schlatters in one leg and I can't run with out getting dizzy due to the concussion... I really need to work out ... I have been out for a month ... Please and thank you !
Avatar f tn How long after a concussion is it normal to still be feeling nauseous and have difficulty with memory, balance etc. I got hit in the face with a softball 11 days ago and am still nauseous. Cannot stand on one leg with eyes closed, and have forgotten things like PIN numbers, passwords etc. is it too soon to expect these symptoms to be gone, or should I go back to the drs. I did also break my nose, which was realigned under local anaesthetic 6 days ago. No LOC. No actual vomiting.
Avatar m tn While I was doing that sport I got really bad sharps pains in the back right side of my head. It hurt so bad I had to stop and just stand there. And since my concussion my right leg has been jerking once a lot a day. I have also had a lot of memory problems since my concussion. I used to have really good memory, but now I will forget something someone just told me. I wasn't sure if someone knew why this all is happening.
Avatar f tn I know the symptoms I have are a part of the concussion but they are bad (bec I already have the chiari symptoms) and it has been since Friday and I still feel HORRIBLE! I see a chiari specialist at the end of the month but in the mean time could this hitting my head on the wall possibly made things worse? (I did not have a ct for the concussion, the dr. just diagnosed me by my symptoms and what happened).
Avatar n tn I was hit from behind when playing ball hockey and I suffered a concussion after I went head first into the goalie. I had a cat scan done and it was normal immediately after the hit. Its been 11 months and everytime I try a light exercise for example walking around the block for about 20 minutes I get headaches. I used to swim, jog and play sports regularly and now since the accident I have gained a lot weight and don't know what to do to stay active.
Avatar f tn I am a mid 20s female and I had freak fall at work that injured my right shoulder 4 years ago. After over a year I went to several chiropractors due to continued pain and reduced function in my right arm. After taking X-rays one of the chiropractors decided to try mechanical cervical traction to see if that would help. I felt some neck discomfort but no pain during traction.
Avatar n tn Hello Dale, I am so very sorry to hear that you have had so many head traumas and are in pain. We can relate to chronic pain. It is disruptive to our lives and brings us many challenges. You are always Welcome in the Pain Mangement Community but I encourage you to also post in our Migraines and Headache Forum. There members may have better information for you based on their personal experiences. Below is the link: http://www.medhelp.
Avatar f tn Emotional distress can cause some of the symptoms you describe. For instance, does the pain go away if you lie down and relax? These symptoms can also be from long-standing degenerative problems that had nothing to do with your concussion. You would be wise to follow up with your personal doctor who can order an Xray to see what's going on in there.
Avatar n tn My headaches got worse a couple of weeks ago and I visited the doctor. He attributed the aching neck pain and head tightness to stress and anxiety. I never considered that because, is it really possible to wake up one day and feel like that? I do have a high level of stress in my life but its never been a problem until after my fall, however the doctor said it has nothing to do with my fall. Lately, I have experienced uncontrollable twitching in my leg, hand, and arm muscles.
Avatar n tn I was in an accident 7 days ago - I'm already experiencing the twitching and numbness. I was rear ended as a passenger. I'm going to chiropractor and neurology. Had a concussion. The crash caused me to hit the back of my head on seat, whiplash, immediately had sharp tailbone pain, lower back pain are all progressively getting worse. It's now the 8th day and there's involuntary twitching/jerking of my extremities.
Avatar m tn I think I aggravated my neck several times since the initial injury and developed some significant pain/stiffness in my upper back and neck. This stiffness/pain caused my head to hurt wherever it made contact with the pillow. I've seen two athletic therapist, two RMTs, a physiotherapist and a chiropractor. I've had some relief with these therapies but the issue has remained.
Avatar f tn Thank you, My last concussion i got elbowed in the mouth really hard and got pain in the back of my head. I went through the normal concussion symtoms; groggy, lightheaded, dizzy, headaches, depression, etc. and now the only one that is left is the pressure feeling. I wouldnt say its frontal, its just slighlty more frontal than the cent er of my head. idk if that makes sense or not. I got n MRI and it showed nothing significant, and I am getting aother one soon. Ill keep you posted.
Avatar m tn I was involve in a very bad car accident 02/10 and have no memory of the actual wreck. the hospital deemed I have a severe concussion and then also diagnosed me with Post Concussion Syndrome. I am currently also experiencing back and neck problems as well as getting a collarbone checked out for a possible fracture. My question is does coffee effect concussion and PCS recovery. And how long does recovery generally take.
Avatar m tn Thought I’d give an update as not done for a while, weaned myself off amitrptyline as while it made the intense head pain a lot less aggressive, after a month of taking it I felt like a zombie, no personality and was making me really anxious. A couple of days after being off it didn’t feel to bad a bit like my old self, suffered from feeling sick but think this was due to coming off the tablets to quickly. About 10 days after stopping the amitriptyline the head pain I felt before came back.
Avatar f tn The pain is intermittent but when it comes it stays for days and is a bothering dull pain. If I press on the spot the pain doesn`t change but I do have a spot that is more sensitive when pressed (like a bruise would feel). I don`t have any fever, I do have sinus congestion (but there is a cold going around and i suffer from chronic sinusitis). My concussions were on top of my head and on the left side. I have trouble concentrating but that most likely is a post concussion effet.
Avatar f tn Now I have lost the ability to grasp with my hands and have very sharp pain in my right hand and fingers and have been tested for carpal tunnel and pinched nerve, which I do not have. Xrays and Tests also proved negative for depression, lupus, MS, arthritis, and other neuro or rheumatoid diseases.
Avatar n tn Hi, probably these are concussion symptoms. “The brain is surrounded by cerebrospinal fluid, one of the functions of which is to protect it from light trauma, but more severe impacts or the forces associated with rapid acceleration and deceleration may not be absorbed by this cushion.
1524559 tn?1291410896 I'm not a doctor, but I am a fellow fibro sufferer. I'm sorry you've been having such a hard time and undergoing so much stress right now. Muscle twitches can and do occur with fibro, but they can and do also occur with stress, so, unfortunately, it's hard to say what might be causing the eye twitch.
Avatar m tn I went to the doctor 4 days later after symptoms were still present and they said I had a concussion. They performed a CT scan and said everything was FINE! I was relieved to hear this. Every so often, I "tweak" the concussion in various ways, but haven't had too many symptoms other than headaches and neck/back aches.
Avatar m tn I hope you are beginning to feel better. Are you seeing a Neurologist now or what type of MD is following you for your concussion (closed head injury)? Normally, they do not recommend that you exercise after such an injury, but rather rest, so I would suggest that you lay off the gym for a while or check with your MD to see if it's OK but also let him/her know that you are still having these headaches and feeling sluggish.

Avatar f tn Today, I was volunteering for something and I had to stand up for hours with only a few breaks, and I got a small pain in my head/eyes and I slept for a few hours afterwards. Do I have a slight concussion? Should I go to the doctor?
