16465326 tn?1448202692 The attending Physician said I checked out neurologically and did not order a CT scan of my brain. A concussion was her diagnosis. Since the fall I have had the following symptoms: 1. Whiplash as my sternocleidomastoid muscles in the front of my neck have seized up and are extremely sore. Especially bad in the morning upon waking until I get going through my day. 2. Extremely irritable as the smallest of things seem to enrage me. Not emblematic of my normal behavior..3.
Avatar f tn Again there are cases where it is considered Concussion and suffered from memory loss, executive functioning etc., MRIs/CT scans can only show gross injuries and not at ultra-microscopic level. You can get an MRI and find out if you have any of that but it won't give how many lost. Just look out for symptoms and if there is nothing noticeable you just keep moving on.
Avatar f tn when they got to me they said my eyes were wide open buh I was just staring into the sky there was no response nothing they tapped me to wake up but no response, they said I was out for about a minute before they splashed water on my face and I picked up consciousness.
Avatar f tn He was intoxicated when he suffered the concussion and was admitted to hospital. While at the hospital he was put on an IV and he did not know where he was. He thought he was in Spain despite being in Nottingham. The doctor wanted to keep him in overnight but the idiot best man did he best to get my husband released after a few hours. I was not there so I do not know what the doctor recommended for after care and as the best man was intoxicated as well only god know what was advised.
Avatar f tn I'm 21 and I got a concussion 4 weeks ago. The headaches have gotten much better but I have had days when I can really feel the pressure. My high school friends and I have been planning a trip to a house we rented in the mountains for months now. If I still have occasional lingering headaches can I drink? Will drinking hurt my head further? Please help.
Avatar m tn I was involve in a very bad car accident 02/10 and have no memory of the actual wreck. the hospital deemed I have a severe concussion and then also diagnosed me with Post Concussion Syndrome. I am currently also experiencing back and neck problems as well as getting a collarbone checked out for a possible fracture. My question is does coffee effect concussion and PCS recovery. And how long does recovery generally take.
Avatar f tn On Friday I was drinking and I fell and hit my head twice, i remember my night up until i hit my heasd. and Three days later my head is still hurting! I can barly sleep, my ears ring randomly, i have the worst headach and im dizzy and feel like i need to get sick. What does this mean and what should I do ??? #HELP!
Avatar f tn Eating a salty snack, taking a magnesium supplement and B vitamins, and drinking a glass of milk before going to sleep may be helpful.
Avatar f tn ve web searched and I do find info on concussions, but nothing really on how long it takes for them to recover. She is eating/drinking and managing her toilet needs. Sometimes she knows her name other times she doesn't. She is so focused on pacing, that she has no other life other than that. I've got her meds to calm her at night from the vet. So we will see how that goes tonight. Thanks for replying :) I'll not give up on her.
Avatar f tn I know the symptoms I have are a part of the concussion but they are bad (bec I already have the chiari symptoms) and it has been since Friday and I still feel HORRIBLE! I see a chiari specialist at the end of the month but in the mean time could this hitting my head on the wall possibly made things worse? (I did not have a ct for the concussion, the dr. just diagnosed me by my symptoms and what happened).
Avatar m tn Tiny 8 week old Pomeranian puppy fell onto hardwood floor from about 1.5metres he cried and peed but was okay after. He's eating, drinking and peeing but is not very playful and active. He sometimes cries when i touch him (maybe from trauma?) but his body has no injuries when i felt everywhere he was fine. Could he have brain damage or concussion?
Avatar m tn s been a year since his last concussion and he is making slow progress, but progress. Still has mood swings, ADD, and sleeplessness, but has made nice gains. He went on a flight to Scottland to visit a friend and seemed fine while in Scottland, but seemed to have regressed in symptoms when he returned home. Mood swings returned significantly and his choices and behaviors reflect significant impairment of executive function ability.
Avatar f tn At times a subdural hematoma develops slowly and may be missed on the first MRI. Also concussion can cause persisting headaches and should be allowed to slowly subside before active sports are considered. Injury to neck, to jaw bone, and even eyes should be considered. Get his eye sight also checked. May be the headaches are because he needs spectacles. -Take care!
Avatar f tn Thank you for your response Londres70, I appreciate it. I haven't seeked medical attention yet, because I've had some stuff going on the past few days and I don't think I can afford an ER bill right now... I'm still feeling off.
Avatar f tn The impact of the ball caused the concussion, and the shape of his pupil is now oval. I took him to a pediatric opthamologist who did a thorough exam. He said there is no lasting damage other than the shape of the pupil, but he needed glasses. When he "recovered" from the concussion three weeks later, he tried to go back to baseball but could no longer judge the speed and distance of the ball. He had to quit. He has been moody and pesting ever since the concussion.
Avatar f tn I was camping and yes, drinking was involved -- and took a nasty spill, and face planted into a large rock but thankfully we had an EMT and military medic with us. I have a puncture about two inches above my left eyebrow, was told it was about an inch deep. Our sobers ( we are semi responsible campers, after all! ) drove me to the ER after the medic/EMT attempted butterfly stitches to no avail.
Avatar f tn Hi there, I am really scared right now, I am 14 years old. In February I was sledding and hit a cement wall and cracked 2 ribs and had to get rushed to the hospital in an ambulance. I was told my head was fine (even though they had run NO tests at all) but I HAD hit it on the wall also. For about a week after being out of the hospital, I had a severe nonstop headache. It finally went away so I thought nothing of it.
17075101 tn?1453495395 If you hit your head even a little bit, it is possible that you became concussed and have a minor concussion. Call your pharmacist and ask about the pill if you can't find it on any sheets they gave you, an call your primary care doctor to check for any other possible causes (dehydration for one.) If you still have no answers, go back up to the hospital and tell them you suspect you may have sustained a concussion. Hope this helps you.
5778772 tn?1374097447 Hello. My name is Sam and I am 19 years old. About a week and a half ago i gave my Girlfriend Oral sex. I did this for about 30 minutes. Then shortly after i found out that she cheated on me with another guy. This made me very upset and then i became very concerned that i might have gotten something. I knew the guy she cheated on me with, and he's been with a LOT of girls. I'm really concerned though and scared.
Avatar f tn Each brain injury is unique and try to get some one who can listen to you and may be a concussion specialist if you can. I am even considering Stem Cell Therapy for which I have to travel outside U.S.A. Keep me posted if you can.
Avatar f tn Probably you had a concussion and having Post Concussion effects. You can consult a Neuro-Otologist and Neurologist and see if you have any inner ear issues. Reason for dizziness can be very many. Get an MRI done to be safe.
Avatar n tn Eating and drinking okay....pooping okay and looks fine but it seems he cannot stay awake. This was a very social active puppy.....
Avatar f tn You could easily have a concussion. You need medical attention, even though it has already been a couple days.
Avatar f tn The C1 was fractured in three places and he had a severe concussion concussion. Since then he’s had excessive saliva resulting in excessive coughing. He’s coughing several times a minute. Is there any connection between brain trauma and excessive saliva?
Avatar m tn My concussion occurred 37 days ago when I slipped and fell backwards hitting the back of my head on a turf surface. In terms of the concussion recovery, I've been working with a concussion therapist to employ the practices of slowly getting back into activities without provoking symptoms. Unfortunately, I haven't seen much progress and may even have my symptoms come on earlier. I believe that this is related to sleep and neck issues that began about 18-20 days into the recovery.
Avatar f tn Went to new Neuro on 1/18/13 they ordered a MRI and put her on topamax 25mg for 1 week and then 50mg for 3 weeks..and drinking at least half her body weight in oz daily. This has greatly improved her headaches she went from 50-75 Jab and Jolts to about 5-10 a day. Went back to Neuro last Friday 2/15/13. Her MRI was fine and the concussion is healed. They increased her dose to 75mg a day since the increase she has had maybe 1-2 a day. They now are calling them reoccurring headache cycle.
Avatar m tn A doctor generally looks for focal neurological or generalized neurological symptoms that would show there is a pressure on brain somewhere. In absence of these symptoms and based on the history a diagnosis of concussion is given. If concussion is severe, and there is underlying brain injury, then yes, even death can occur. Hope this helps! Take care!
Avatar f tn This then can be checked for the full year if there is any sort of injury to see if it is a concussion. Otherwise, you have to look for symptoms. This article you can copy and paste has a lot of info related to concussions. We looked for the signs after my son took a big head splitter in a soccer game and was put under concussion watch. https://my.clevelandclinic.
Avatar f tn re supposed to take it easy after a concussion and orgasm raises your BP and all. Most of my symptoms of the concussion have gone away, aside from double vision. Thoughts?
