I had weight loss they put me in Zyprexa. I would see my GP because weight loss can be caused by other conditions.

I advised her against it, saying diet and excersise are the best options, but she has a lot of trouble loosing weight, like most of my family. I am very worried that Concerta mixed with any weight loss medications can cause problems. Are my fears rational? Thanks.

My daughter is 6 years old, on concerta for ADHD and is losing weight. She has been on medications for adhd for over a year now. She was born at 35 weeks by c-section, hospitalized several times before age 2 for respiratory conditions. I totally understand your concern with your son's weight loss on ADHD medicine. My 9 year old son has been on Concerta for three years and the first year and a half he was very thin. Now he is the right weight for his age and height. He is on 18mg. We tried him on the 27mg but it was too much. He was thin for that period of time, but he has jumped two grade levels ahead of his class in reading and has much better impulse control.

My 11 year old son is currently taking Dexadrine. He has slowly increased to 20 mg in the morning. His teacher and myself (my son too) have noticed a postitive change in his work output at school and during homework sessions. Two of the side effects are of great concern to me. My son can't sleep until well after 10:30 pm. (we are trying Melatonin, but haven't found the right dosage). The other side effect that is most troubling is the loss of appetite.

Over the last several years she has had significant weight gain not loss. It does not seem possible that it is a misdiagnosis three times...but it is questionable to me why none of the medications work for her and none of the medications cause a loss of appetite, she actually seems to always to be hungry. Im a 16 yearold male that plays a ton of sports and works out a lot but I'm never hungry! Its really weird all my buddies eat a ton of food after our games and in general there always hungry! I'm 6 feet tall and weigh 160 pounds. I am starting to feel weak because I don't eat. Is it normal for me to feel like this? I'm currently on 105mg of concerta. Could the concerta be doing it to me?

My son was diagnosed with ADHD when he was 6 and has been on concerta since that time which has helped him tremendously until recently. It's as if the concerta has no effect on him anymore. his doctor said he can't up his dosage to 36 mg because of his weight (he weighs approx 65 pounds). Has anyone ever heard of this? My doctor also prescribed Phenteramine 37.5 mg for weight loss. I take both together in the morning. I do go to him every month and have a check up so he can check my blood pressure...it is always low anyways. But he does keep a close eye on me. Also, if I have something stressfull happen in my life, I drop the phenterimine for a couple of days to prevent an anxidy attack. Phenteramine does make you anxious,,, more so than the adderall or Concerta.

My daughter has been on concerta for 3 yrs now and she has facial tics. We took her off now and its been about 4 days, they seem to have gone away except once in away in awhile I see one but mostly 3\4 or more are gone. So I would like to know if they were becuse of the concerta and not touretts.

8years old} with ADHD who is 5 years old and weighs normal weight for his age and he was started on concerta last week and that was the nedication and 18mg was the dose hebwas prescribed. I started taking 18 mg of Concerta once daily about 2 weeks ago. Oddly I have noticed two things: 1) I can no longer have my daily/morning coffee without severe nausea (even the pharmacist didn't have it as one of his warnings). 2) Despite the fact that it keeps me awake to the point that daytime napping is not possible I still feel exhausted most of the time which doesn't make much sense to me. Has anyone had anything like either of these things happen while they were taking it?

I have child that was also on Concerta 36. There are two types of this medication. Concerta and Concerta CR which is controller release, I believe it was called. However, I found that concerta is not a very effective drug for dealing with ADHD. You might want to have the school give her the second dose at 1pm at school, this way it will avoid the medicine lapsing while she is at school.

In regards to a lack of concentration, it could be possible that the dosage of Concerta you're currently on isn't high enough, or Concerta simply isn't working out, but definitely talk to your doctor about this.

Interesting, I can find no mention of a 32mg dose of concerta. Is he on a 36 mg dose? if he is, "The maximum dosage of Concerta should not be greater than 0.9 mg per pound of body weight." fish oil is certainly something worth trying. There are ones out there developed specifically for kids (chewable, etc), and they will have the suggested dosage on the bottle. I really can't see any reason that primrose (I assume the oil) would be worth your money.

hyper, not hyper, Temp always below normal and pulse slow or high with out a lot of movement. She was very under weight but the Concerta keep her from eating. But she was hypothriodism. Everyone is different. My son is 12 years old and has adhd odd and mood disorder. He has been on multiple meds. The stimulates seem to be the most recommended for the adhd problems but can sometimes cause weight loss and aggression. Zoloft is for depression. I don't believe any of these meds help with the odd part of it. Because the child has control over this they are choosing to act that way for a reason. Weather it be for attention or just to drive ya mad.

My 6 year old DD was started on concerta about a month and a half ago. This is the first medication they suggested to us. She seems to be doing really well in school but the side effects at home are becoming hard for us to handle. I was prescribed Concerta 18mg by a psychiatrist. I am currently studying for the bar exam and have been taking one pill everyday (since May 17th). The bar exam is on July 24th-26th, 2017. I have never taken Concerta everyday for this long before, and I know that daily use is not encouraged.
