I had weight loss they put me in Zyprexa. I would see my GP because weight loss can be caused by other conditions.

I have been prescribed Concerta 27.5 mgCR which is like adderall for ADHD. My doctor also prescribed Phenteramine 37.5 mg for weight loss. I take both together in the morning. I do go to him every month and have a check up so he can check my blood pressure...it is always low anyways. But he does keep a close eye on me. Also, if I have something stressfull happen in my life, I drop the phenterimine for a couple of days to prevent an anxidy attack.

Hello, I also have adult ADD and I have tried both Concerta and Vyvanse. My doctor wanted me to try Concerta for a few weeks and I didn't like it at all. It didn't agree with me. It made it feel depressed and NOT motivated to do everyday things. I was on a 36 mg dose and when I went back to my doctor I told him I hated it. He mentioned that there is a new medication called Vyvanse and asked if I would like to try it. With nothing to lose, I said yes. I do like Vyvanse.

Over the last several years she has had significant weight gain not loss. It does not seem possible that it is a misdiagnosis three times...but it is questionable to me why none of the medications work for her and none of the medications cause a loss of appetite, she actually seems to always to be hungry. I do not know where else to go...two psyhiatrists, one psychologist, and out family doctor...

He only mentioned Concerta at the time amd zi have wondered if anyone here prescribes Adderall so I will add that to my list for my guy at our next appt.

he was always being called chubby before he started concerta and adderall....now everyone is worried he is too thin.....so yes it does suppress the appetite. That is why there was a whole controversy of women taking their children's ADHD medication so they could do their house work very fast and "diet" at the same time. I'm still confused about how long is too long to be on this medication and will the weight loss adventually stop or at least slow down? What is non-stimulant Strattera and how will it help my son?

My 11 year old son is currently taking Dexadrine. He has slowly increased to 20 mg in the morning. His teacher and myself (my son too) have noticed a postitive change in his work output at school and during homework sessions. Two of the side effects are of great concern to me. My son can't sleep until well after 10:30 pm. (we are trying Melatonin, but haven't found the right dosage). The other side effect that is most troubling is the loss of appetite.

My 8 year old son was diagnosed with ADHD when he was 6 years old. After trying a few medications, his doctor chose Concerta as his daily medicine. I was then switched to 18mg Concerta ER and I still get the same side-effects but they are about 85% less severe and last alot shorter 1-2 days max, but doesnt even work for me. Well, see when I switched from Concerta to Adderall, I just stopped the Concerta and went to taking the Adderall XR. After a few months the XR did not seem to work very long or throughout the day. So, in 2007, I went on Adderall short acting pill form which generic form is amphetamine salts or amphetamine mix tabs. With this pill, first of all, it is extremely inexpensive. I pay $30 for 180 tabs 20 mg each. I cut each in half and take each half 4 times a day a total of 40mg.

i have taken adderal, ritalin, concerta, for adhd and i tried phentermine which is also an ampetamine for weight loss not sure if you read my story on the heath pages but i started my addiction age 9 with ritalin i also have hep c which causes extreme fatigue (and right not i am unisured i think my thyriod levels are low) i have taken excetorin which has caffine in it, just to make it through the day, but i felt horrible, yes i was awake but not energetic thats the thing with the prescription ad

hi, concerta ,and stratara, and all the others my doc put me on didn't come close to adderall. focalin worked to but was costly. adderall leavels your brain, and lets you be yourself. the way your supose to be.

Of course, if you have taken your generic version of adderall after the concerta for a couple of days. That should be what shows up. But, I would think that as long as you have the prescription for the adderall, you should be ok.

Concerta, 30mg Adderall IR, and 30mg Adderall XR. Concerta gave me migraines. Adderall XR completely sucked. Adderall IR was the best medication that I found until Vyvanse. Now I think Adderall is horrible in comparison. I've been taking 30mg of Vyvanse for a few months now. This has been my adjusted dose from trying 20mg, 30mg, and 50mg. 50mg was wayy too much at the time. 30mg was perfect until about a month ago. It lasted about 12 hours, a huge improvement over 4 hours of Adderall IR.

Why is my 'shrink' trying to treat my Adult ADD with Bubropion HCL SR (100mg tab 2X a day)? Is this the right med for me? Good grief...it didn't even cut out my smoking.
