Avatar f tn I asked the doctor, and the doctor gives him neurobion (the ingredients are 100 mg vitamin B1 mononitrate, 200 mg vitamin B6 hydrochloride, 200 mcg vitamin B12). The neurobion helps him, so that he can study for the next day. In internet i also read that vitamin b deficiencies can show adhd symptom. So...is there anybody have the experience like my son ?
Avatar f tn All children and especially those with learning difficulties, benefit from a Multiple Vitamin-mineral supplement with antioxidants, BCompex and Vitamin C.It also stated that the FDA called for stronger warning labels for stimulant drugs used to treat common types of Attention Deficit DisordersADD, The biggest change was to amphetamine-containing drugs for ADHD, Adderall and Dexedrine and Methylphenidates such as Concerta and Ritalin.
Avatar m tn It could also be that you need to start taken Vitamin B6 AND Vitamin B12 and Omega 3-6-9 to help you as you try slowly to come off of them.Ask your Doctor how you are to come off of them. And he may want to put you on something different and I would tell him no because of the side effects and that you don't want to go threw this again. And also once you start taken the Vitamins keep taken them they are good for you can don't have all the very bad side effects just take once a day.
Avatar f tn I started taking 18 mg of Concerta once daily about 2 weeks ago. Oddly I have noticed two things: 1) I can no longer have my daily/morning coffee without severe nausea (even the pharmacist didn't have it as one of his warnings). 2) Despite the fact that it keeps me awake to the point that daytime napping is not possible I still feel exhausted most of the time which doesn't make much sense to me. Has anyone had anything like either of these things happen while they were taking it?
Avatar m tn take some vitamin c, drink sleepytime tea, melatonin. Or The less natural route (usually for when SWIY has really been speedin) SWIY will have a few drinks (usually tequila :)) and take Klonopin and/or Xanax to avoid the tossing and turning. Based on this SWIY has a few questions: Should SWIY be taking any more or avoiding certain substances to avoid building an amp. tolerance or to make the Addie work better?
Avatar f tn ritalin, restpordol(sp???), Concerta, and clonodine (help him sleep) but they work for just a while. He can be perfectly fine one minute and extremely mad over something so small the next.... not to mention that he runs full charge all day. Anyway, he has been getting a lot more aggressive here lately for no apparent reason. I mean nothing has changed in our home. His grandmother watches him in the afternoon while I work and then he is with me the rest of the day.
Avatar f tn Hi folks, I took Concerta for 2 weeks and gave it up because of GI issues and a lot of facial twitching in addition to still having a lot of fatigue. I stopped taking it almost a week ago but I still have a remaining eye twitch that is driving me nuts. Now I'm thinking the current twitch is likely unrelated to Concerta and may be MS related. If so, it is a new symptom for me and like most MS symptoms, I need relief. Has anyone had any success getting rid of the twitches?
1390055 tn?1365615055 On MedHelp, when I search for low platelet count, all I can find is a massive amounts of posts regarding low platelet counts in the Hepatitis C Community, which I find quite odd, since me and my doctor have concluded that this low platelet count is not being caused by any infection (including Hepatitis C), or even cancer for that matter. I would also think that low platelets caused by infection or cancer would be below at least 75 k/uL.
Avatar f tn I drink water, eat bananas, and I eat cheese and nothing is working. I am on concerta and zoloft but I have been on that since late 2010. I just want the muscle spasms to stop. They don't hurt their just annoying. I just want it too stop. They make me really depressed and they keep me awake at night.
Avatar f tn My 9 year old son has been taking 72mg of Concerta every day for over a year now. The cost of the medication is outrageous. Our doctor has written us new prescription for him for Adderall during the day and Ritilan for homework time if it is needed. My questions is, is there any significant side effects or dangers between the Concerta and Adderall? My husband is very reluctant to switch is medication and we are just trying to get some help with the questions we have.
1031310 tn?1259857386 I did not personally find it as helpful as the concerta.... but everyone is different! Your son might find it even more helpful then the concerta, you'll only know if you try it! It's not a stimulant, so... SOME people might think that was a plus... but... uhhh... it's sort of like an anti-depressant, so like with ANY anti-depressant your son MIGHT experience withdrawal effects if he ever wanted to go off of it...
Avatar f tn was diagnosed with adhd about 2 mos ago and my doctor put me on 36mgs of concerta it seems to help with the impulse control, but I am still having an issue with my mind being in a thousand different places. I also have a seven year old son who was also diagnosed with adhd about a week ago and because of his size he is also on 36mg of concerta and it is making him calmer at home, but when I talked to his teacher today she said that she is not seeing any improvement at all.
Avatar f tn She says that sometimes her hands get tingly. She is on Concerta for ADHD and has been for about 2 years. It seems to help her focus, but this twitching has started in her body about 3-4 months ago and it comes and goes. She had a huge growth spurt last summer, growing 4 inches in about 5 months and gaining about 30 lbs! The rheumotologist thought the pain in her joints and muscles might be related to that.
Avatar f tn My 8 year old has ADD and is taking 36mg of concerta, it's helping with his attention problem but he can't fall asleep untill late at night which is driving us crazy! School will be starting again and i worry how difficult it will be for him to start his day. Does anyone know of a natural product for kids to help with sleep. Or anything else we could do!!
1858622 tn?1319813203 My 13 year old daughter was taking Concerta last week and she was having stomach pains. We stopped it and she is taking a nutritional derivative for ADD kids called Focus. How long did your kids go to therapy while taking medication?
Avatar n tn Is it ok to take vitamin c gummies to help boost my immune system.
Avatar f tn Concerta does not cause the enlarged heart, but definitely increases the heart rate and causes other chest pains, so cardiovascular monitoring is a MUST with all the ADHD-drug taking children. My son has a 5-6 mm hole in his heart and we get Eco every year, just because he is taking Concerta. So far, we were lucky and did not have to suspend taking it. If they say it - keep him off of it. I am sorry to say that.
Avatar f tn My 14 year old son was just put on concerta 18mg about 3 weeks ago. We had to go to the ER today b/c he hurt his foot at a basketball tournament. While there they decided to do blood work. Doc came back and said his liver enzymes were elevated 2x of what they should be. Could this be b/c of meds? His sister has an immune disorder so she always has elevated liver enzymes. I am a bit nervous. If it is caused by meds can they level out with time?
Avatar n tn I just started taking Concerta (36 mg) and I immediately developed shingles. My doctor swears it's a coincidence, but after seeing your post I can't help but wonder. I had chicken pox as a child, but I've never had shingles before now. What happened in your case? I went to the doctor today and got neurontin and valtrex, but the doctor told me to keep taking the Concerta. I don't know what to do.
Avatar f tn I checked his eyes this morning before he took his Concerta pill and his eyes were still dialated, but not as badly as after he takes the Concerta. Should I take him to an eye doctor or should I discuss this with his psychiatist (who prescribes his Concerta) first?
