11352669 tn?1417486501 If its fairly recent for you, it just may take awhile longer for you to get used to it. That is kind of common for side effects with stim meds. You could also lower the dose and see if you are still having the same effects. Typically, if you have a good, strong high protein breakfast, the effects positive effects of Concerta will last longer then without that kind of breakfast - which means you could try a lower dose. Any recent head injuries. Do you play football or soccer?
Avatar f tn It may well be that a much smaller dose of Adderall (even better would be Vyvannse) would do the same thing for you with less side effects.

Avatar f tn Im a 19 years old boy and i have tried vyvanse which did miracles at first at 20mg until the effect decreased and had to go up to 60mg with no effects except the bad ones and went back to my old self(lazy, tired, unmotivated etc.). I am now on concerta 36mg and it seems like working but not all the time and clearly not as much as first time vyvanse.
Avatar n tn t tolerate any alcohol with metroidazole, others tolerate a little. If you have a normally sensitive stomach, you should use regular toothpaste for the time being.
Avatar m tn These are typical side effects froom withdrawls of that type of medication (amphetamine, methylphetamine) or stimulants. If a patient is used to being on a stimulant drug for some time, withdrawing that drug would cause a general slowing down of the body, hence the extreme fatigue, lack of motivation and focus. Your body is going through an increased response of side effects from withdrawl, as you've been of this medication for a year which is why your symptoms may be more exaggerated.
Avatar n tn My daughter is nearly 11 years old and has been taking Concerta (now on 36mg) since March. The doctor recommended a switch to Strattera for the reason that it works 24 hours (Concerta is effective for only 12 hours) and will help my daughter concentrate more. I have no idea whether Strattera is a better alternative, can anyone tell me if this is true?

Avatar n tn His teacher and myself (my son too) have noticed a postitive change in his work output at school and during homework sessions. Two of the side effects are of great concern to me. My son can't sleep until well after 10:30 pm. (we are trying Melatonin, but haven't found the right dosage). The other side effect that is most troubling is the loss of appetite. When we went to see his specialist, 6 days ago, he'd lost 4.5 lbs (in 40 days).
2030686 tn?1351688548 If you are careful not to touch the needle it is sterile, if you touch it with something like an alcohol swab, it is less sterile. Alcohol swabs are good at cleaning surface dirt, but not so much for sterility, that is why it is not used for sterility in hospitals. In paramedic school, they taught us that the only germs that alcohol kills are the ones that cannot swim...
Avatar n tn Is there anyone out there that can tell me are there any benefits to medication? I only ever read about the side effects and bad experiences people have with them, especially on children! I'm trying to decide whether to put my 7yr old son back on meds after 8 months on concerta with shocking rebound effects at night, which really took it's toll on us. Are they worth it?.

Avatar n tn , the medication that proves to be clinically effective without untoward side effects). Stimulant medications (e.g., Concerta, Ritalin, Adderall, Metadate, etc.) all have the potential to suppress appetite. This in itself is not always a problem. It becomes a problem if it leads to persistent weight loss. Strattera is a treatment for ADHD that is not in the psychostimulant family of medications.
Avatar f tn I have child that was also on Concerta 36. There are two types of this medication. Concerta and Concerta CR which is controller release, I believe it was called. However, I found that concerta is not a very effective drug for dealing with ADHD. You might want to have the school give her the second dose at 1pm at school, this way it will avoid the medicine lapsing while she is at school.
Avatar m tn I was then switched to 18mg Concerta ER and I still get the same side-effects but they are about 85% less severe and last alot shorter 1-2 days max, but doesnt even work for me. Maybe amphetamines are too "strong" for me? I diagnosed with ADD and was prescribed Adderall 20mg XR when I was about 22 years old, and I didn't have a problem at all except slightly dry mouth. I'm 32 and decided to try ADD meds again bc I cant concentrate. I'm stumped by these symptoms.
