Ricky had started Concerta at the end of the month of Novenber.He was on 18 mg (btw he just turned 7 and weighs 47 pounds),at the beggining we noticed a HUGE difference,the change lasted until the a week before the xmas break,then he seemed to fall back into his old pattern,attention problems,lost and playing alot with his fingers.So I had a doc appointement a uped his dose to 27 mg.I have this for 2 weeks and another prescrition for 36 mg if we don't see any difference.
ITS CALLED GENERATION RX . THE FILM WAS STATING THAT RENILIN, DEPRESENT PILLS, AND PHSYCOTIC PILLS, WERE NOT GOOD FOR USE. THESE PILLS INCLUDING CERTA WILL CAUSE THE CHILD TO BE MORE DIPRESSED. SOME CAUSES A CHILD OR ADULT TO COMMIT SUICIDE OR KILL OTHERS. THESE PILLS ARE DANGEROUS AND WAS REPORTED TO THE FEDS. THEY DECLINED DO TO THEM WANTING THE MONEY OFF OF THESE PILLS. WHAT THEY ARE NOT SAYING IS THE SERIOUS SIDE AFFECTS TO THESE PILLS.
My son is 15 years old and for as long as I can remeber he has always been very unhappy & extremely angry. He's been in & out of therapy (counseling) since he was 4 years old. We had NEVER concidered medication until about 8 months ago.
My son was tired of not being liked, feeling angry, sad and felt he needed help beyond just counseling.
was diagnosed with adhd about 2 mos ago and my doctor put me on 36mgs of concerta it seems to help with the impulse control, but I am still having an issue with my mind being in a thousand different places. I also have a seven year old son who was also diagnosed with adhd about a week ago and because of his size he is also on 36mg of concerta and it is making him calmer at home, but when I talked to his teacher today she said that she is not seeing any improvement at all.
My sister abuses her concerta (she knows the risks) she will stay up until around 5am and sleep for an hour or two. Her doctor is giving her 400mg of seroquil to help her to sleep. Will that get her to bed?
My son takes Concerta as well as his sister They are both on a dose of risperdal as well.

I was having the same issues as you with these two it seemed when 7 p.m. came every night like clock work my kids turned in to monsters like the warewolf does when the sun goes down in the movies .
s harder than anyone else in her class.Our daughter has been on concerta 36mg now for 3months, it has made a difference, she is talking better, obviously the medication is helping her thinking, DOWN is she can't get to sleep at night, did try a lower dose of Concerta first but didn't help much, the 36mg dose is what she needs, we give her melatonin to help her sleep at night, (natural medication for sleep), the melatonin helps but still hard for her to get off to sleep.
Others abuse stimulant meds for their weight-loss properties. If your child is taking stimulants, make sure he or she isn’t sharing the pills or selling them.

I have been going to the same psychiatrist for over 5 years and have been recently given Concerta three months ago. During this time, the Concerta dose moved up 3 times and was given a new script. Some of these scripts were turned in during the same month.The doctor added on ritalin on a separate script one month. I have turned in these prescriptions mostly to the same pharmacy, but when at Walmart I have turned them in there.
Concerta does not cause the enlarged heart, but definitely increases the heart rate and causes other chest pains, so cardiovascular monitoring is a MUST with all the ADHD-drug taking children.
My son has a 5-6 mm hole in his heart and we get Eco every year, just because he is taking Concerta. So far, we were lucky and did not have to suspend taking it.
If they say it - keep him off of it. I am sorry to say that.
My major problems all this time are fatigue and weakness in my legs. My previous neurologist had suggested and prescribed Concerta for some temporary help for those symptoms. I am currently taking a 54mg tablet each morning and I cannot tell that it really helps since I do have "good" and "bad" periods.

after a scary night of chest pain, arm pain and more heart arrythmias, I threw out the pills. Told my psych doc NO MORE. I am done with drugging my poor heart and body like this. I am young and have a lot to do in life. I don't want to die before I have a chance to enjoy what could be MUCH MUCH happier times. REAL happiness!! I just pray I have not done too much cardiac damage. Peace!!!
I just started taking Concerta (36 mg) and I immediately developed shingles. My doctor swears it's a coincidence, but after seeing your post I can't help but wonder. I had chicken pox as a child, but I've never had shingles before now. What happened in your case? I went to the doctor today and got neurontin and valtrex, but the doctor told me to keep taking the Concerta. I don't know what to do.
I also have an Rx for Xanex, which is to be taken as needed, but I have not taken it in months. I also often self-medicate with caffine pills - I took two 200mg caffine pills yesterday around 5pm. I also took some Aleve at that time, as I have been having eye pain and headaches for the last two weeks and I was hoping to aleviate that pain. I was also feeling a little dizzy and naseaus around 10pm. The nausea has become a little more common than I'd like recently.
Hello all! I have had attention problems since icould remember. Im 24 now. But only in the year or so I've realized that it has actually caused a lot of problems study wise for me. I feel constantly bored or loos interest in the smallest tasks and tend not to sleep allot because it feels like I can't switch the conversations off in my head. I only really realized that my behavior was a bit odd, when my friend kept telling me that I walk around and interrupt allot of people in class.
My son is 8 on concerta and he also wets his pants I am begining to wonder I have read the literature and can't find any connection. But I do wonder.

She has admitted to not always giving the oldest the concerta, due to money difficulty buying the pills. Sometimes she gives it to him on school days, but not weekends, and sometimes not at all. this also concerns me.
My other concern is with their development. One is 10 and the other 8. They up until last summer were sharing a bedroom with their mother, and sleeping in her bed. They only recently started sleeping in their own beds at her home. They were sleeping with her.
I can see being on V and perhaps adderall in the late after noon. Or concerta and ritalin in the late afternoon. Since the Concerta/ritalin are the same type of meds. Same thing for Vyvannse and Adderall.
Point being, why was the V not working for you? What symptoms did you have. I would think that the two could have been over dosing you. Did you ever try just V alone?
