IT HELPS MAKE THE CONCERTA WORK LIKE IT SHOULD, IT HELPS THEM SLEEP INSTEAD OF THE CONCERTA WEARING OFF THEN THEM NOT BEING ABLE TO FALL ASLEEP UNTIL LATE AT NIGHT, AND IT IS SUPPOSED TO HELP WITH THEIR APPETITE. THAT SEEMS TO BE PRETTY NORMAL TOO. GIVE IT A SHOT.
So your son has been on Concerta for 2 years? What other medications did you try? My son has been taking Adderall for 3 years. All the other medications caused him to have headaches. One in particular gave him a migraine that landed us at the ER and him getting an MRI. The adderall, at 25 mg, has not affected him at all with adverse symptoms. He sleeps well, eats well, etc.
I have been taking lysine for 15 years and it has always prevented me from getting mouth ulcers and fever blisters however in the last three to four months it is not working anymore does anyone have any idea why and also could my body have built up a tolerance to it and should I quit taking it for a while?
Have you tried another med. Maybe Concerta is not working or is not enough. Talk to her docotor about trying another med such as Stratera (non-stimulant) or Metadate CD another type of stimulant. I have a friend with a boy who takes Metadate CD. They tried Concerta and it did not work for the school at all. He was very restless and hyper. At home he was fine at the end of the day.
I am so angry at the moment that I was stupid enough to give Concerta to my son because his grade one teacher had troubles keeping him focussed. I will not be giving him anymore meds for ADD. If the school system has issues then they need to deal with it. THe problem is that some old school teachers dont want to offer differentiated instruction" or Resource" to help kids wo arent AKA normal or usual they want to squeeze them into a box so to speak so then their job is easier.
Tried ritalin (normal), ritalin SR, Concerta and amphetamine. Concerta gave me something but felt something missing, normal ritalin was terrible, OD and came into "cocain waves" (very high, and straight to the bottom), amph gave me more but I didn´t eat, and felt a bit anxious, ritalin SR was, and is my favourite, works as a charm.
I'm not sure if Concerta is working for me? I'm a 20 year old female and I was recently diagnosed with ADD. I was prescribed with 18mg of Concerta, once every morning. I didn't feel particularly focused, but I suppose less distracted than usual. I felt very calm and relaxed on the first day. But since the first day, I don't notice any difference at all.
Im a 16 yearold male that plays a ton of sports and works out a lot but I'm never hungry! Its really weird all my buddies eat a ton of food after our games and in general there always hungry! The Concerta will show up for one to three days (in a urine test) depending on how fast you metabolize. However from what I have read, it will show up in the initial screening as a general amphetamine. After a positive initial screening, the sample will be further tested using a different methodology that will specify the type of amphetamine. Of course, if you have taken your generic version of adderall after the concerta for a couple of days. That should be what shows up.
Im a 19 years old boy and i have tried vyvanse which did miracles at first at 20mg until the effect decreased and had to go up to 60mg with no effects except the bad ones and went back to my old self(lazy, tired, unmotivated etc.). I am now on concerta 36mg and it seems like working but not all the time and clearly not as much as first time vyvanse.
ADHD, mild-moderate schizophrenia spectrum disorder (high functioning juvenile paranoid schizophrenic possible), tourette syndrome ( coprolalia), anxiety disorder, OCD, highly possibly aspergers and depression. I have not been on an ADHD med in years, because they gave me insomnia. I have been on both stimulate (concerta, adderall) and non-stimulant (strattarra) drugs. I definitely feel that concerta worked very well for me.
ve read about extended release focalin verses extended release concerta is that focalin works faster (within 30 minutes of taking it) and is better for a child that needs the help prior to leaving for school and that type of thing. So, it is reported that it begins working fast in the morning and continues to control symptoms during the day and then tapers off at hours 10 to 12.
I took 108 mgs of the ADD pill concerta. (2, 54mg pills) I woke with an irregular heartbeat, and it seemed like it was pounding. I also felt weak and light headed. How long will this last??
