concerta in urine test

My prescription ran out and I used a concerta my concern is if I have a urine test or hair follicle test will the methylphenidate in the concerta show up? Concerta is not my prescribed medicine.

The ritalin did help me concentrate but I stopped taking it when I had blood in my urine one day. Urologists analysed me after that episode and found no bladder tumours, no infection and no kidney stones. I have not had a repeat of blood in my urine since stopping the ritalin. Please help I am really devastated. .

How old is your son? I assume the doc is using the urine test and not the hair test? You could always switch to the patch or change to a med like Focalin XR which could be sprinkled on food.

full ultra sound , barrium swallow , camera test into the stomach , urine and blood tests, mri scan (1 year ago), blood pressure , egc scan All came back normal with only slightly low blood pressure. Btw I am 18 Caucasian and have no previous sever illness or infections and I eat well .

They send me reports about his behavior and we ended up having to switch his medication in the middle of September to Concerta. (He has been having serious issues recently at school, especially with keeping his hands to himself – he has become EXTREMELY tactile and we are currently working on that; ie: squeezy balls, bracelets, etc) We also have been given a grant to work with a non-profit organization for a Wraparound and our first team meeting is tonight.

Concerta does not cause the enlarged heart, but definitely increases the heart rate and causes other chest pains, so cardiovascular monitoring is a MUST with all the ADHD-drug taking children. My son has a 5-6 mm hole in his heart and we get Eco every year, just because he is taking Concerta. So far, we were lucky and did not have to suspend taking it. If they say it - keep him off of it. I am sorry to say that.

Aside from a bit of anxiety (which could be due to PMS and the test), I do not feel any side effects. I have been sleeping and eating well. After taking a break from Concerta in the past, I have experienced irritability, sadness, and moodiness (which also could have been due to PMS given the timing of the symptoms; I've always had unpleasant PMS). Any recommendations for managing these (potential) aftereffects are welcome, too. Sorry if this is a rookie question or if has been answered...

My son is 8 on concerta and he also wets his pants I am begining to wonder I have read the literature and can't find any connection. But I do wonder.

I checked his eyes this morning before he took his Concerta pill and his eyes were still dialated, but not as badly as after he takes the Concerta. Should I take him to an eye doctor or should I discuss this with his psychiatist (who prescribes his Concerta) first?

I can see being on V and perhaps adderall in the late after noon. Or concerta and ritalin in the late afternoon. Since the Concerta/ritalin are the same type of meds. Same thing for Vyvannse and Adderall. Point being, why was the V not working for you? What symptoms did you have. I would think that the two could have been over dosing you. Did you ever try just V alone?

We took her off now and its been about 4 days, they seem to have gone away except once in away in awhile I see one but mostly 3\4 or more are gone. So I would like to know if they were becuse of the concerta and not touretts.

My son is twenty nine. He lives at home and is ADHD. He is prescribed Concerta. 2X 36mg.per day. He is also perscribed 2X 5 mg. ritalin per day. He took ritalin SR. during high school, but I gave him his meds every AM so he would not forget. His dose was much lower then. Since college he binges on them when he gets the prescription filled. He then crashes and sleeps for a couple of days. He can't see a problem with his behavior.

my psychiatrist was very dubious to put me on ADD medication as im an ex crystal meth addict. obvious reasons. ive been clean for 8 years now and have been on concerta for almost a year. but i am bipolar and have very bad anxiety. concerta works very well for my ADD but not for my anxiety, is there a better way to get the best of both worlds?

I started taking 18 mg of Concerta once daily about 2 weeks ago. Oddly I have noticed two things: 1) I can no longer have my daily/morning coffee without severe nausea (even the pharmacist didn't have it as one of his warnings). 2) Despite the fact that it keeps me awake to the point that daytime napping is not possible I still feel exhausted most of the time which doesn't make much sense to me. Has anyone had anything like either of these things happen while they were taking it?

I have child that was also on Concerta 36. There are two types of this medication. Concerta and Concerta CR which is controller release, I believe it was called. However, I found that concerta is not a very effective drug for dealing with ADHD. You might want to have the school give her the second dose at 1pm at school, this way it will avoid the medicine lapsing while she is at school.

Anyway, he has been getting a lot more aggressive here lately for no apparent reason. I mean nothing has changed in our home. His grandmother watches him in the afternoon while I work and then he is with me the rest of the day. When he grts aggrressive, most of the time it is directed at me. He with throw things at me, try to hit me, etc. He is also mildly aggressive with my 7 y/o daughter.

My son was on concerta and adderall and they both can cause seizures. I would ask doctor to you for an egg and make sure you are not having seizures.Witch is a side effect to concerta and can not be reversed .They can only give you medicine to try and control the seizures. I wish we had never put my son on these medicines.

My child was diagnoised by some doctor to have a.d.h.d. His mother started him on folcalin then concerta he has more problems now at school and cant even read he's in 2nd grade. During this time, the Concerta dose moved up 3 times and was given a new script. Some of these scripts were turned in during the same month.The doctor added on ritalin on a separate script one month. I have turned in these prescriptions mostly to the same pharmacy, but when at Walmart I have turned them in there. When turning in my last prescription, the pharmacist stated she would not fill out the script because I have gone to Walmart and my prescription has been given to me too early.
