When he skipps his medication he's back to his old ways...he's hyper, anger, upset, etc so I fear the thought of taking it away but also am concern if taking it for too long could harm him?

Hi folks, I took Concerta for 2 weeks and gave it up because of GI issues and a lot of facial twitching in addition to still having a lot of fatigue. I stopped taking it almost a week ago but I still have a remaining eye twitch that is driving me nuts.
Now I'm thinking the current twitch is likely unrelated to Concerta and may be MS related. If so, it is a new symptom for me and like most MS symptoms, I need relief.
Has anyone had any success getting rid of the twitches?
The Concerta will show up for one to three days (in a urine test) depending on how fast you metabolize. However from what I have read, it will show up in the initial screening as a general amphetamine. After a positive initial screening, the sample will be further tested using a different methodology that will specify the type of amphetamine. Of course, if you have taken your generic version of adderall after the concerta for a couple of days. That should be what shows up.

Concerta and Concerta CR which is controller release, I believe it was called. However, I found that concerta is not a very effective drug for dealing with ADHD.
You might want to have the school give her the second dose at 1pm at school, this way it will avoid the medicine lapsing while she is at school. I switched my daughter from Concerta 36 to Adderall XR and I have found that it works much better for her.
It always helps to know the doses of the old med and the new one.
Anyway, concerta has a life of about 8 hours and V has a life of 8 to 12 + hours. And I think that this is part or all of the problem. You probably need to cut down on the V. (with your doctors approval as the doc does need to know what is going on) so it doesn't last as long.

I just started taking Concerta (36 mg) and I immediately developed shingles. My doctor swears it's a coincidence, but I can't help but wonder. I had chicken pox as a child, but I've never had shingles before now. I went to the doctor today and got neurontin and valtrex, but the doctor told me to keep taking the Concerta. I don't know what to do because the Concerta is helping my ADD, but I also believe it at least played a part in my shingles outbreak.
I can't find how long it stays in the system. It is a stim med. if you took only one ...you are probably ok. Lots of warnings about tapering off the med, but that's if you have been using for awhile.

good for u2get off them.it S U X but it just takes time.Dunno how much u took but after that long I dont think it matters u were taking them daily5weeks is awesome.What r ur worst issues?Stillba lot of anxiety,issues w/sleep?Appetite?I assume the1st2r most likely the worst.Have u tried any of the over the counter meds for anxiety and sleep aids?I hear there r some great products out there.
