Im a 16 yearold male that plays a ton of sports and works out a lot but I'm never hungry! Its really weird all my buddies eat a ton of food after our games and in general there always hungry! I'm 6 feet tall and weigh 160 pounds. I am starting to feel weak because I don't eat. Is it normal for me to feel like this? I'm currently on 105mg of concerta. Could the concerta be doing it to me?

Interesting, I can find no mention of a 32mg dose of concerta. Is he on a 36 mg dose? if he is, "The maximum dosage of Concerta should not be greater than 0.9 mg per pound of body weight." fish oil is certainly something worth trying. There are ones out there developed specifically for kids (chewable, etc), and they will have the suggested dosage on the bottle. I really can't see any reason that primrose (I assume the oil) would be worth your money.

My only concern regarding the medication is, my son has lost about 30+ pounds in the last 65 months and appears to continue to drop weight. I will admit, he was on the heavier side so he could afford to drop some weight but he's really skinny now. He's about 5'9 and weighs about 148. Will he continue to drop weight if he stays on this medication? How long is too long to stay on the medication? Can he be in it for long term?

I had weight loss they put me in Zyprexa. I would see my GP because weight loss can be caused by other conditions.

my child only takes one 36mg concerta tablets of a morning and lasts all day the recommended dosage is 1mg per kilogram the dosage you have stated there your child must weigh roughly 72kilograms???????? whick i doubt. that dosage worries me. Its not a easy road.

thanks my dr is weening me off of setraline and putting me on celexa. i hope this doesnt cause weight gain or increased appetite and i am also starting concerta for my adhd. phew i hate taking all these fricking meds. ugh~!

If he is getting mad at his sister under Cocerta and was not before Concerta, maybe the dosage is too high. Talk to his doctor about decreasing it or changing to another medicine such as Metadate CD.

I have a 5 year old daughter who has recently been "kicked out" of pre-school for aggression. My husband & I have taken her to therapy and we are now trying medication (Concerta 36mg). Nothing seems to be working and the aggression is worsening. I love my baby girl and it is breaking my heart to see her so unhappy all the time. We are doing everything that is recommended in therapy (behavior charts, ect) and still no progress.

My 11 year old son is currently taking Dexadrine. He has slowly increased to 20 mg in the morning. His teacher and myself (my son too) have noticed a postitive change in his work output at school and during homework sessions. Two of the side effects are of great concern to me. My son can't sleep until well after 10:30 pm. (we are trying Melatonin, but haven't found the right dosage). The other side effect that is most troubling is the loss of appetite.

ive been on concerta since i was 10, when they were figuring out the dosage, this would happen to me when the dose was too high. so they lowered the dose and ive been on the same dosage for almost 12 years now. so my suggestion is to lower the dosage if possible. though youll notice side effects the first couple of weeks as the body gets used to the meds. so even if you switch meds you may notice side effects anyways.

I was diagnosed with ADHD (to add to my list of other mental health issues) at the age of 21 and was put on Concerta as treatment. Well, three years has passed and my dosage has increased to 108 mg/morning. At 72 mg I started developping speech problems and then they worsened at 90 mg. I was diagnosed with ADHD as an adult a few years ago, and started taking concerta to help me focus in college. I stopped taking it for a while, and about a month ago, went back on the concerta. I take 36mg of extended release in the mornings when I have class or homework to do, and it does help me focus. However, since going back on it, I've noticed that I sometimes can't grasp words. Like I know what I'm talking about/trying to say, but I can't place a word with it.

ve read about extended release focalin verses extended release concerta is that focalin works faster (within 30 minutes of taking it) and is better for a child that needs the help prior to leaving for school and that type of thing. So, it is reported that it begins working fast in the morning and continues to control symptoms during the day and then tapers off at hours 10 to 12.

and she put me back on lamictal 100 mg final dose, 25mg serquel at bedtime to sleep and 36mg of concerta a day and I feel great and have not gained any weight at all, actually seemed to have lost a few pounds and able to keep a lower weight. Maybe it is the abilify.

Im not good with converting pounds to kilograms but with the concerta it is roughly 1mg for every kilo.

I did not personally find it as helpful as the concerta.... but everyone is different! Your son might find it even more helpful then the concerta, you'll only know if you try it! It's not a stimulant, so... SOME people might think that was a plus... but... uhhh... it's sort of like an anti-depressant, so like with ANY anti-depressant your son MIGHT experience withdrawal effects if he ever wanted to go off of it...

My son is taking Concerta 36mg. in the AM...and an afternoon dose of 10mg methylphenidate...HE DOES NOT HAVE AN Appetite...He says No thank You to EVERYTHING FOOD That I offer him since starting these meds.... He is 10 years old and have always had a great appetite.....HELP ....

My 8 year old has ADD and is taking 36mg of concerta, it's helping with his attention problem but he can't fall asleep untill late at night which is driving us crazy! School will be starting again and i worry how difficult it will be for him to start his day. Does anyone know of a natural product for kids to help with sleep. Or anything else we could do!!

My daughter has been on concerta for 3 yrs now and she has facial tics. We took her off now and its been about 4 days, they seem to have gone away except once in away in awhile I see one but mostly 3\4 or more are gone. So I would like to know if they were becuse of the concerta and not touretts.

My Son was on Concerta, the same dosage. From personal observations the medication has different results for different people. There were no real side effects for my son other than 1. He seemed to have lost his personality. With the loss of personality he lost his creativity. He became distant and lethargic.

Hi folks, I took Concerta for 2 weeks and gave it up because of GI issues and a lot of facial twitching in addition to still having a lot of fatigue. I stopped taking it almost a week ago but I still have a remaining eye twitch that is driving me nuts. Now I'm thinking the current twitch is likely unrelated to Concerta and may be MS related. If so, it is a new symptom for me and like most MS symptoms, I need relief. Has anyone had any success getting rid of the twitches?

OH MY DEAR GOD! That child! My heart, my soul, my everything goes out to him and you and his mother! He is over medicated in my BiPolar and Medical Assisting opinion! ODD is just a "label" for young, psychotic Bi Polar I disorder. I am a Bi Polar I with psychotic features and if my "profile' was to be put into a young child I would be labeled ODD. So - *&(^&*() that diagnosis. You need a new PDoc, new meds, new everything.
