concerta anxiety

but i am bipolar and have very bad anxiety. concerta works very well for my ADD but not for my anxiety, is there a better way to get the best of both worlds?

Concerta does not cause the enlarged heart, but definitely increases the heart rate and causes other chest pains, so cardiovascular monitoring is a MUST with all the ADHD-drug taking children. My son has a 5-6 mm hole in his heart and we get Eco every year, just because he is taking Concerta. So far, we were lucky and did not have to suspend taking it. If they say it - keep him off of it. I am sorry to say that.

You might want to talk to your doc about reducing your anti anxiety medication. Do you have the same doc for both the concerta and the effexor? Note, Concerta should last about 8 hours while the Vyvannse could go 10 to 12 hours. Also Concerta is a Methylphenidate, while Vyvannse is an Adderall based med and is stronger. You might want to try the Vyvannse again, but increase the dose slower.

He is very high functioning but of course with this he has OCD type behaviors, anxiety etc. At age 5 he was diagnosed with pretty sever ADHD. We started on Strattera and after two weeks he violently attacked me...We then went to Concerta then to Focalin then back to Concerta....not ever obtaining great control of ADHD. I can see being on V and perhaps adderall in the late after noon. Or concerta and ritalin in the late afternoon. Since the Concerta/ritalin are the same type of meds. Same thing for Vyvannse and Adderall. Point being, why was the V not working for you? What symptoms did you have. I would think that the two could have been over dosing you. Did you ever try just V alone?

I have been going to the same psychiatrist for over 5 years and have been recently given Concerta about 4 months ago. My original diagnosis was depression/anxiety disorder and he believes I have a learning disability. During this time, the Concerta dose moved up 3 times and was given a new script. Some of these scripts were turned in during the same month.The doctor added on ritalin on a separate script one month.

Like I mentioned earlier I am on my almost 3rd week of taking concerta and i hate it. I still don’t know if I am adhd but I am having the same problems as I did with the vyvanse. Severe headache and pain in between my shoulder blades. I have had a full cardio workout and I am 44 in good health and have no other problems than Hashimotos which I am not yet taking meds for when this is all over. Can someone please help??

now if you take like 2mg xanax and 72mg Concerta and feel focused, motivated without anxiety f.e. that is sweet spot but a small ammount of alprazolam will overpower MPH and if it does you will need literally half bottle of Concerta, this is my experience and I say for mayority of other reports that i red in last 2 years so you are safe but take 1mg xanax more and no cleaning...

My 9 yr. old little girl has been on 18Mg of Concerta, with some success. The Dr. prescribed 5 mg. of aderall along with the Concerta, that has also had proven results for us. The Dr. now says to increase the Aderall to 10mg. so we did that today. She is now on 18mg of Concerta and 10mg of Aderall. What can we expect from this increase and is this combination to high of a doseafge for a 70 puond 9 yr. old.

There are other much safer and milder anti-anxiety meds out there. By the way anxiety is a very common co-disorder of adhd and is many times brought on by the adhd. I think most of your problems is from getting off diazepam. Besides reducing anxiety, it is used to quiet muscle spasms. Both of those things can come back during withdrawal.

Hello, I also have adult ADD and I have tried both Concerta and Vyvanse. My doctor wanted me to try Concerta for a few weeks and I didn't like it at all. It didn't agree with me. It made it feel depressed and NOT motivated to do everyday things. I was on a 36 mg dose and when I went back to my doctor I told him I hated it. He mentioned that there is a new medication called Vyvanse and asked if I would like to try it. With nothing to lose, I said yes. I do like Vyvanse.

wondering if anyone has tried concerta for their adhd? i was on a few meds a few years ago but stopped taking them because nothing seemed to work. i am about to try going back on concerta 36mg and see if it will help. i also have depression and am starting a new med called celexa. any info will help. thanks!! not sure what i should be looking for in healthy changes.

t entirely sure why but felt ADHD was a part of it. The treatment (Concerta) has helped, but I can still see a lot of anxiety breaking through and creating tension/anger/disruption. I'm not sure where to go with this. I will have to check out that book.

my 8 yr old is on concerta 27mg she has been on it for a month and just started complaing about her chest feeling like it was so tight she cant breath and her heart herts when her chest tightens...the nurse said give her tylnole and take her to her doctor in the morning not to give her her pill ..is she going to be alright we had a really bad experiance with the vyvance and the folcolin i cant let my baby go threw that again...how can i help her in school and not hert her while doing so?...

I was diagnosed with ADHD as an adult a few years ago, and started taking concerta to help me focus in college. I stopped taking it for a while, and about a month ago, went back on the concerta. I take 36mg of extended release in the mornings when I have class or homework to do, and it does help me focus. However, since going back on it, I've noticed that I sometimes can't grasp words. Like I know what I'm talking about/trying to say, but I can't place a word with it.

Hello, I lost 15 pounds over the last 3 months. I'm taking Concerta (36 mg- twice per day), Tecfidera (240 mg twice per day) and Brintellix (10 mg). I have no appetite and when I eat everything tastes awful. Concerta and Brintellux are more effective for me versus Modnafinil and Cymbalta. However, I can't afford to lose anymore weight. Hi all, Yes anxiety can happen with ADD, me and my daughters have ADD, my eldest daughter gets anxiety to the stage where she was pulling her hair out, I was giving her rescue remedy and councelling to try to help and I did not want her to be put on an anti anxiety medication, what has seemed to help was changing her medication, she was on Ritalin but has now been put on a slow realease Concerta at a much higher does.

I was prescribed Concerta 18mg by a psychiatrist. I am currently studying for the bar exam and have been taking one pill everyday (since May 17th). The bar exam is on July 24th-26th, 2017. I have never taken Concerta everyday for this long before, and I know that daily use is not encouraged. However, I feel that taking it daily would allow me to prepare for the exam to the best of my ability.

s harder than anyone else in her class.Our daughter has been on concerta 36mg now for 3months, it has made a difference, she is talking better, obviously the medication is helping her thinking, DOWN is she can't get to sleep at night, did try a lower dose of Concerta first but didn't help much, the 36mg dose is what she needs, we give her melatonin to help her sleep at night, (natural medication for sleep), the melatonin helps but still hard for her to get off to sleep.

My son has tried Ritalin, Dexodrine and Concerta. All have made him tic, but the concerta tics seem to last longer. He has been off for two weeks and although the neck jutting out has stopped, the clearing of the throat has not. I have removed him off all medication and am convinced the pros of the medicine DOES NOT out weigh the cons. Be careful parents! Hi I have been on Concerta 56mg - 72mg on and off for several years. However, recently I came across a study that showed that long term use of the med impairs brain cells so I stopped abruptly. It has been years since I have been completely off the drug and I noticed that I have lost alot of my personality. I used to be so bubbly talkative and hammy. I no longer possess any of those qualities anymore, among other issues and I feel that they may be due to the long term use of the drug.

t mix meds and doesnt want to prescribe anything for my anxiety at the moment. I know that without concerta i find it difficult just to take care of my children and household. I am unable to organize, complete tasks, and feel like my brain is a jigsaw puzzle and unable to put things together. Is there a way I can take care of my anxiety and my add at the same time? I know there has to be a way.
