Avatar f tn Some alternative doctors think it is drained adrenal glands behind ADHD, CFS, panic attacks, and other conditions. And people have overcome these conditions with adrenal treatment. So further strain to the adrenals would only further strain the body, stressing it out, which may be the reason for these nervous habits; they are a way to handle the overstressed nervous system.

Avatar n tn I have this type of burning when my anxiety and panic attacks flare up. I always wonder if the meds are making it worse at first and then it starts to get better. Your doctor must have attributed your symptoms to anxiety or depression I am assuming.
Avatar m tn The fear of losing something this important to me has driven me to panic attacks, and due to my doctor being at a state clinic, i have no way of contacting her to see if Vyvanse could be the cause. Is apathy or boredom a side effect I should voice to her? Am I genuinely just losing interest or is it possible that the medicine switch could just be desensitizing me?
Avatar n tn I'm going to second greenlydia here. Ritalin is a very heavy drug, and one that has been very overprescribed, yet it doesn't appear you've been diagnosed with what ritalin is intended to treat. What's the cause of your inability to focus? And you say it's your great downfall, but I bet the panic attacks were a whole lot worse! My own suggestion would be to try non-medicinal approaches first, since you're already taking one heavy drug, Lexapro.
Avatar f tn Last month after getting on Celexa for a return of the panic attacks, he asked me to stop by the lab for some blood work. When I got the statement it was over 3 thousand dollars. He had ordered ten single drug class tests among other things. He never mentioned the tests beforehand. I wouldn't have felt so violated. He said the tests were routine for anyone taking a controlled substance. I've been on klonopin(1 1/2 mg per day) for five years. My other Dr. never tested me. This Dr.
Avatar n tn My daugher was on Prozak last school year for anxiety and panic attacks. They took her off to see if she could manage them, but by middle of this school year (Dec) the panic attacks came back She just went back on 2 months ago. She is having suicidal thoughts and was not doing well in school all in this last month. She also did some cutting to her arm. her Dr. wants to add either abilify, lamicatal or zileptal to the Prozak. The latter two being anticonvulsants to help as a mood stabilizer.
1575110 tn?1334664635 Hello, I also have adult ADD and I have tried both Concerta and Vyvanse. My doctor wanted me to try Concerta for a few weeks and I didn't like it at all. It didn't agree with me. It made it feel depressed and NOT motivated to do everyday things. I was on a 36 mg dose and when I went back to my doctor I told him I hated it. He mentioned that there is a new medication called Vyvanse and asked if I would like to try it. With nothing to lose, I said yes. I do like Vyvanse.
10011789 tn?1409704061 Anyone have issues with panic attacks? I had them probably 3 or 4 times in my life and never with my first pregnancy. Now with this one (having twins) I've already had 2 and I'm only 12 weeks. Both my parents take anxiety meds. I never have had to and don't want to but it's kind of scary. I'm never like stressed or thinking about anything at the time. It just suddenly hits me and I can't breath and I feel overwhelmed and trapped.
1979360 tn?1328143865 ve finally been told by myself that i have horrible panic attacks. i hate them, and i do want and need help and a support system.

Avatar f tn I had panic attacks about 20 years ago when I worked with all women who smoked some of them chained smoked and I put it down to secondary smoke my thyroid was perfect at the time but also my job was so stressful our boss used to come in every morning and say there were too many women working and as such that was unproductive hours (worked for a construction company where 99% were men) and that one of us would have to go and he would stand there looking at us as if he was trying to decide which o
461368 tn?1206516757 But our brain and mind knows there is a problem and eventually sends up emergency flares -the panic attacks- and fog horn warnings (the anxiety). Typically, the treatment involves some medication to help the patient be more relaxed and functional. But medication is NOT the cure. The "cure," (defined by ME as the end of significant symptoms and no expectation that they will return) comes about through talk therapy with a psychiatrist or similarly qualified mental health professional.
Avatar n tn Could you 'feel' your heartbeat get faster? Also, what is your approximate age?

Avatar n tn and desided to go to the psychitrist... I was diagnosed with panic attacks... and I was prescriped with Zoloft... 25mg to begin with... and an other pill called "akamon" to help me sleep at night.... he said that its a therapy of 6 months and then I will be just fine but since I was very worried of taking these meds i kept visiting websites and they are all full with people that take them for years and no one that said... 607502 tn?1288247540 I get panic attacks, sometimes with no warning and no obvious trigger - these are at night when I'm about to go to sleep I suddenly can't breathe and my heart is racing. Then I get the ones brought on by outside stressors, ie, situations I can't cope with.
Avatar f tn So I got a question like last year I smoke some pot and it was laced with meth and heroin and I was freaking out I was afraid I was going to die my mom almost took me to the er. so now every time I smoke pot or I try to drink or I try to take any type of pills I start freaking out and having really bad panic attacks to where my heart rate goes up and I'm afraid I'm going to die. do you think if I quit smoking and drinking and doing everything for a couple of years it will die down?
Avatar f tn , so I went to a doctor who told me I was having panic attacks and prescribed me Xanax 0.5 mg 4 times daily, and it is actually working. I was wondering if anyone thought that this was because of the XTC and if anyone else has had this happen. Thanks for listening.
Avatar f tn They can be used to control panic attacks......for what reason were they prescribed to you? If for panic attacks, and they're not controlling them, call your doctor and let him/her know. Take care.
933087 tn?1291174260 Even though the medication helped me greatly in school, the panic attacks became more frequent and more aggressive. Every day after school i would get home and start to feel my fingers tingle, my face go numb, get really dizzy, then have problems breathing. Id have to lay down and just try to fall asleep to get rid of all of it. At the time I thought it was panic attacks that I was having but was not yet diagnosed.
Avatar f tn I suffer with from panic attacks, I wake up very early in the morning feeling dread and what will this day hold for me. I am not an optimistic but a pessimist. If I dare have a thought that today may be good, I shoot myself down by saying "Do not think everything is going to be alright". I am a defeatest. I and my husband are unemployed and cannot find a job. So every day is a financial and peronsal challenge to us both.
Avatar n tn I too have Crohns diease and have panic attacks. I was seeing a GI doctor and told him of the attacks, he said that the stress and trying to cope with this diease was the likely cause. He sent me to a mind and body dr. that he consulted with before I visited and told him my situation. They worked together and I was put on a low does of Klonipin and the attacks completely stopped. Shortly after my Crohn's went into remission.
Avatar m tn I know from experience the anxious state can last for months and panic attacks can happen daily. I went through a horrible period of anxiety and panic. I have since been treated with meds and therapy and I am much better! Hopefully, you feel better soon!
2107676 tn?1388973859 I practice every day and in the past 6 months of sobriety I have eliminated my panic attacks and learned to work through my anxiety, drug free. Be gentle with yourself darlin', treat yourself with love, and take lots of those deep deep breaths. Sending support...
Avatar f tn I am scheduled to see a therapist and then the next week the psychiatrist. Yes the panic attacks have happened suddenly and i know the benzos are a bandaid. Im lucky enough that my husband put his foot down and i actually went to see a family doc who went straight to ordering the thyroid tests. I also understand the dependency that you can develope from these drugs. I didnt actually take but one dose of the zoloft because it make me unable to sleep as did the xanax er.
