Concerta and dry mouth

Common Questions and Answers about Concerta and dry mouth

concerta

When taking ritalin/concerta I thought I had heart palpitations and I think I continue to have them. I also had watery eyes, a dry mouth, bruxism (gurning jaw) and more white fur on my tongue. The ritalin did help me concentrate but I stopped taking it when I had blood in my urine one day. Urologists analysed me after that episode and found no bladder tumours, no infection and no kidney stones. I have not had a repeat of blood in my urine since stopping the ritalin.
I have known him for about a year and a half. He is a very stable individual and ambitious. He and I talked a long time tonight and he has accepted the fact he must have been hallucinating. I have advised him to see his physician (general practitioner) first thing next week. I am just curious if taking the adderall out of cycle along with lack of sleep and some stress related to school and financial could cause this acute episode of hallucinations?

blurriness in her left eye, numbness and occasional tingling on the left side, reduced motor control and dexterity, dry mouth, and fatigue. These symptoms seem to be somewhat cyclical - some days are okay, other days are quite bad. Today is the worst day she's had so far; the numbness seems to be spreading (and may include some of the right side) and now she's having involuntary muscle movements, mainly on the left side, to the extent that she's thrashing about a fair bit.
I have no appetite and when I eat everything tastes awful. Concerta and Brintellux are more effective for me versus Modnafinil and Cymbalta. However, I can't afford to lose anymore weight. Additionally, I'm only sleeping about 3 hours per night due to trips to the restroom. Do you know which of these meds is likely to negatively impact the appetite?
its called paresthesia and its caused by applying pressure to nerves for extended periods of time it feels like pins and needles, gaping of t he mouth, and a short temper. this made total sense because i was sitting here on this crappy chair squeezing my johnson running a mouse and elevating my legs. thats probly about ten nerves i was applying pressure to and i can feel the effects.

He suggested that I speak with my psychiatrist because of the medication I am on. I take lamictal, concerta, pristiq, seasonique, and zyrtec d everyday. But i'm just confused because I have taken these medicines for over 6 months now and have not had these problems. I just feel the urge to urinate and I have pressure on my pelvis sometimes. Does anyone else have these issues or know ANYTHING. Could I be allergic to something?
The main side effects that I get from the ritalin are dry mouth, loss of appetite, uncontrollable crying, I get aggrivated very easily, and I get these sudden feelings over being over-whelmed (but they only last for about 5 seconds). With the aderoll I got loss of appetite, insomnia, and dry mouth. I recently heard that dexatrim (athough its mainly for weight loss) mixed ith aderoll or ritalin can increase your awareness and make you more able to desifer good and bad decisions, Is This True?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Two days ago, I met for the first time my new psychiatric counselors and doctors. After some paperwork, a brief check-up, a talk with the head doctor, and a profile assessment, I was officially diagnosed with ADHD. He then prescribed to me the amphetamine, Vyvanse (30mg). I was to take it the very next morning after breakfast. I have had very few problems with the my other medications, like the antidepressant, Zoloft (50mg), and the antihistamine, Zyrtec (10mg).
Due to lack of complete medical and medication history, I will not be able to do so. Hydroxyzine commonly causes dry mouth, drowsiness, and dizziness. It can also have more serious side effects, including confusion, nervousness, and involuntary motor activity such as tremor and convulsions. However, it is usually at higher doses. You were taking 25 mg four times daily (or 4-6 hours), which is within the recommended daily regimen.
This is painful for me to write because the memories themselves are still open wounds, and after a year and a half of therapy, and finding out my therapist/counsel doesn't see eye to eye with me on the medication abuse I've been put through, I have now lost yet another therapist, and I have no one left in the medical field I feel I can connect to. I am refusing connection from all that I have been through because I just don't want to be in pain anymore. Apparently people don't understand.
- My skin along the sides of my nose, behind my ears, and in my eyebrows sometimes becomes dry and flaky and turns red. I use steroid creams to control especially bad outbreaks. - Loss of blood pressure on standing, resulting in red, sparkly vision, dizzyness, and a little temporary confusion. This is fairly common and I would say I get it once every 2 days or so. It typically lasts for 10 to 15 seconds.
For short movements, it takes about 2-3 minutes to return to normal. But to walk across the room, a good 15 minutes of dizziness, dry mouth, feeling my heart rate in my neck, the rapid breathing, etc, is what is required for it to go away. I've been doing some research on the medication, and the incidences of hyperventilation are not uncommon for those taking Strattera. I'm just not sure, at this time, if that's whats going on or not.
I found Concerta (time-release Ritalin) to be good and have used Adderall successfully. I think I prefer the Concerta, because it doesnt cause my mouth to be so dry. I wouldnt worry about a small increase in dosage like you mention. However, if you start crushing them up or doubling up your dose again, I would worry. Are you taking the XR at the same time or are you waiting til later in the afternoon for the second dose? Is alcohol the only drug you've abused.
