Avatar m tn Hi, I am a 28 y/o male. I am sure someone has already asked this type of question here before but I had recently performed some acts of sexual relation I am now concerned about. I hired an escort to hang out and we ended up having PROTECTED oral sex and PROTECTED intercourse. Then a week later I hired another escort to hang out and she performed PROTECTED oral on me in which the condom SLIPPED off about half way throughout the act. The condom came up to just under the head of my penis.
758493 tn?1271611163 He is not old enough or weigh enough yet to take Concentra. He takes Focalin XR right now. But my doctor has recommended this as soon as he gains more weight and I believe he can take this when he turns 8. I have heard good things about Concentra from other people that I know. Their kids are 8 and 11. I didn't want to consider medicating my child either. But as my son became worse, I felt I had to give it a try, but for his sake as well as the rest of my family.
Avatar f tn Before I went to the doctor I went to, I contacted Mayfield Chiari Center. Unfortunately they do not take my insurance. So out of network would only cover 50%. Say I do eventually want the surgery, since Chiari is somewhat rare and there are not enough doctors/centers that specialize, has anyone ever successfully petitioned their insurance company to pay it as in-network instead of out of network since we do not have many options/doctors to select from for treatment?
Avatar n tn Hello, I'm from China. Two days ago, I went to the hospital to draw blood. After the nurse drew blood, the nurse tore a band-aid and pasted it on the needle I just finished the blood. However, when the nurse put the Band-Aid, it was not accurate for the first time, and then when the second time was adjusted, the nurse's hand touched the center of the Band-Aid, and then put it on the eye of the needle I had just finished drawing blood.
Avatar f tn You have had a number of similar questions on other MedHelp forums, all of which reveal that you are quite anxious about getting infected by doctors, nurses, etc during medical procedures. Such infections virtually never happen. Medical personnel wear gloves and take other similar precautions not to protect their patients from infection, but to protect themsevles form infection from their patients' blood and body secretions.
892215 tn?1389718706 I just attended a seminar on Thursday by Donald Jensen, MD, Director, Center for Liver Diseases, University of Chicago Medical Center. In agreement with what Bill wrote, he stated that marijuana definitely increases scar tissue in the liver. If it were me, I'd search for alternatives. But I also agree that you have to weigh pros & cons and make the best decision for you. Novae: That's interesting about the Oregon case.
Avatar f tn I was offered a job as a teacher but now I have to get a medical exam and answer lots of personal questions about my health. The doctor has to sign something saying that I am free from contagious or infections diseases. Is having hpv/genital warts going to be a problem? Is there any reason I should be worried about revealing that I have it to my future employer? Thank you!
Avatar m tn I then proceeded to drive to the job i was on thinking i could work the kink out of it, bu as i tried to climb out of the truck i could bare no weight on my left leg or back. i came back to the yard and was sent to Concentra. and told the doctor what was wrong. 1. my lower back is in extreme pain. 2. I can't straiten my leg out cause it sends a sharp pain to my lower spine. So he then asked me what doctor i go to for back pain and what do i know about back pain.
Avatar f tn ve been taking a stimulant called Focalin XR for a couple years for extreme daytime sleepiness ( narcolepsy) before that I was on concentra. Before that focalin, before that adderall and the first one I took was nuvigil. Focalin seems to work the best however, I cannot rember how I was before all this medication. It has only gotten worse. The medication for anxiety and depression has helped slightly. I've been on it for a little over 3 weeks I think.
Avatar n tn Any one doctor can NOT treat all of your health conditions and certainly not your liver disease. You will have to make sure the liver transplant center takes Medicaid. This should be the first think you do. The longer you wait to be treated and listed for transplant the greater your risk of a poor outcome. Having limited assets is one of the primary requirements for Medicaid eligibility.
Avatar m tn What about the white ring surrounding my donor's button? It's not really visible but can be seen under sunlight.. Will it ever go away?
Avatar m tn The medical center is known for its liver programs and advanced treatment methods. The center also has a remarkable pediatric center for hepatic complications. Their "Asian Liver Program" is one of the best known hepatitis programs in the country. 6. The New York-Presbyterian University Hospital of Columbia: The hospital has remarkable statistics on curing patients with hepatitis B.
Avatar m tn It's no wonder that doctors are so quick to fork over prescriptions for every little hangnail: The drug industry hasn't just infiltrated hospitals and clinics -- it has taken over the medical education process too. You see, each year, doctors must take refresher courses to stay abreast of the latest "advances" in medicine. And these courses are funded almost solely by Big Pharma.

Avatar f tn Has anyone heard anything about Dr. Heffez and the Wisconsin Chiari Center lately? I sent my records there about 3 weeks ago and have not heard anything. I have also been unable to reach them by phone and received no response to my voice mail. Today there was a message saying the woman who usually answers the phone is out of the office and someone will be checking voicemail. I mostly am wondering if I should keep waiting or if I should try someone else in the meantime. It is summer...
Avatar f tn After their review of his medical history on file, they denied him, stating that there was nothing else they could do for him, that had not already been done in the cities. Is that really the case? Don’t they usually see the patient in person before denying them? Are there really no doctors out there that are willing to start fresh with tests to see what they find? This poor man his been living like this for over 10 years.
Avatar f tn When I see her at the GI dept that at the big university medical center campus; the ID dept is at the smaller hospital in downtown Worcester. Don't know which you'll be at. I haven't begun treatment yet, but will probably do so in a few weeks - one more preliminary test left. My impression of Dr Z is that she's competent, no-nonsense, and willing to answer my very detailed questions.

523927 tn?1257018704 I took a recent trip to the Hansa Center out in Wichita, KS during the month of February. My decision stemmed from a year of using conventional medicine methods and achieving no answer as to what ails me. One of my more recent MD visits resulted in a comment that it was “all in my head and I should consider seeing a psychologist”. Sorry, I know what kind of person I am, I know how I feel, and I’m not quite yet Looney Tunes.

Avatar f tn Hi all, I have been lurking, trying to keep up with everyone and see what has been going on, but since my medical problems are due to connective tissue disease and not MS, I have not felt competent enough to post much. However, I’d like to share something…in the past we have always stressed the importance of having your own medical records, and I would like to stress that with everyone again. Last week I traveled to the state where I once lived, where I believe my medical problems began.
