memory

Avatar n tn My doctor was able to determine this by a sending me for a neuro-psych evaluation ...it tested my memory, motor skills, logic & reasoning, and more by repeating things immediately, 15 minutes later, half hour later, little puzzles and test to test your ability to sort things and solve problems. That test takes a few hours.
Avatar n tn 1) if there are any medications my father could be taking to help improve his memory, and 2) whether his current combination of medication may be affecting his memory. He is currently on zocor (20ml/day) for cholesterol, methotrixate and folic acid for psoriasis, and takes a 81 mg aspirin per day to help thin his blood. He had a pacemaker installed in 1993 (updated in 2002). Any thoughts or suggestions as to what we might explore with the doctors would be helpful. Thank you.

Avatar f tn s like he has a become a totally different person, a 6 yr old stubborn boy. He has almost no short term memory, he keeps repeating the same things, can understand only short sentences and if you speak slowly and repeatedly. He will probably have radiotherapy for the residual tumor but I am totally confused at this point. What do you recommend we should do now? Shall we start seeing a neuropsychiatrist?
Avatar f tn I have alot of pain and cramps in my legs and hands along with memory loss and repeating myself like crazy and not even realizing it. I went for an MRI and the results came back as vague faint increased signal in the lower left anterior pons and medulla oblongata. It says it may just represent artifact but it could be a white matter disease. I was referred to a Neurologist but he didn't seem to concerned or really explain anything to me.

Avatar m tn I know no one can check me from their computer screens, but...I really feel worried about this irritated throat and congested nose that have been with me for almost a month. I'm really afraid about having HIV...even though everybody tells me that I don't have risk...I so want to believe in them, and stop worrying so much. Can my problem relate to ARS in some way, or am I just crazy? What's happening with me?
710085 tn?1238023364 BOOP is bronchiolitis obliterans organizing pneumonia. It means a pneumonitis with no known (or found) infection, but that keeps coming back, sort of hiding out in your lungs until it gets a chance to strike again. They sent my biopsy to Mayo Clinic, and the report they got back suggested the it was probably BOOP, caused by a medicine I was taking for pain. It is a rare response a very few people have had to Vicodon or Neurontin. That's one of several kinds of BOOP.

Avatar n tn We live in Virginia, and my daughter's therapist recommended Cogmed Working Memory Training to help her with attention. My daughter is eleven years old and was diagnosed with ADHD three years ago. She does well on Ritalin LA, but continues to have some problems remembering what she has been told about immediate tasks. Her therapist said this represents a problem with working memory, and that she might do well with the Cogmed Working Memory Training.

Avatar m tn I am 49 years old and have been having simple partial seizures and grand mal seizures for the past 2 years. Started out with simple partial seizures and ocular migraines, but I didn't know what it was, so I ignored it for about a year. I could tell they were getting worse and also noticed I would feel nauseous sometimes & pass out - other times smell a funny smell and pass out. I went to a neurologist and had EEG & MRI & table tilt test, nothing was found.
Avatar m tn If this memory is so uncomfortable you won't even tell it here anonymously, have you ever thought of seeing a professional so you can work on getting it off your chest, and more importantly, learning why you hold onto it so closely for so long?
Avatar f tn I she on any meds sometimes they do affect the memory even of children .I am sure you are glad he hasn't been diagnosed with 'anything' as that what seems to happen now a days for what I consider is part of a normal childhood .
1260255 tn?1288654564 I've read people mentioning memory problems, but have not seen one type of memory problem discussed. Do any of you have problems where your memory does not store information? There are numerous occasions when I have absolutely no recall of conversations. This happened several weeks ago when my son called me at work. He told me that the grill was corroded at the bottom. I have no recall of this whatsoever, but his girlfriend was sitting next to him and vouches for him.
