645800 tn?1466860955 One of the first cognitive problems I developed was short term memory problems (almost 18 years ago). At times it is quite severe (IMO) as I will get up to go to the bathroom, and no sooner get up and not know why I got up. I mean how can you forget that you have to go to the bathroom? LOL As a result of this and my decision making problems I have had a terrible time with doing shopping. I could go to the store with only 3 items to get and return home with only 1 or 2 of the items.
Avatar m tn I was told to be off of the meds because I felt clumsy, memory problems and spacey before while on Cymbalta. Now, it seems to of intensified. My Rheumatologist is testing me for possible MS as these new symptoms appear and others that I have. Sometimes when staring at the TV or computer screen my eyes feel like they jump and I get a dizzy disoriented feeling come over me and my head feels fuzzy. Does anyone else experience or have had experienced those symptoms before?
Avatar n tn One is if you have hypothyroid or Hashimoto's disease, which both mean your thyroid gland is not producing enough hormone, and thus you can get that collection of problems. So, visiting an endocrinologist and getting your thyroid tested is how to find out if it's your thyroid doing all this to you. Two is if you are taking some sort of medication that is giving you these as side effects, so you would review any drug you're on and see if you need to have it changed.
874521 tn?1424116797 re using -- I had problems with v14.1 hogging memory and taking forever to load pages, but the v15 beta version seems to have fixed those issues. There are other risks with using beta versions of anything, though.
Avatar m tn It sounds like you may be having some work problems. That can cause stress and the memory problems too.
Avatar m tn There are some studies which have shown that the memory loss caused by antidepressants is clinically insignificant. And we have to consider the depressive symptoms, too. Memory loss is a part of depressive disorders. I hope you find answers to your questions soon.
Avatar n tn We live in Virginia, and my daughter's therapist recommended Cogmed Working Memory Training to help her with attention. My daughter is eleven years old and was diagnosed with ADHD three years ago. She does well on Ritalin LA, but continues to have some problems remembering what she has been told about immediate tasks. Her therapist said this represents a problem with working memory, and that she might do well with the Cogmed Working Memory Training.
1260255 tn?1288654564 I've read people mentioning memory problems, but have not seen one type of memory problem discussed. Do any of you have problems where your memory does not store information? There are numerous occasions when I have absolutely no recall of conversations. This happened several weeks ago when my son called me at work. He told me that the grill was corroded at the bottom. I have no recall of this whatsoever, but his girlfriend was sitting next to him and vouches for him.
1763947 tn?1334055319 Hi, I was wondering if any one else has experienced problems with short term memory? Mine is getting worse by the day and I am really worried. My friend called me one night and the next day when we spoke, I didn't remember ever talking to her the night before. This type of thing is happening more and more. My move was delayed until the end of the month which means I am delayed in seeing my new LLMD. Would love to hear if this is something many people experience?
Avatar n tn reasoning, and more by repeating things immediately, 15 minutes later, half hour later, little puzzles and test to test your ability to sort things and solve problems. That test takes a few hours.
Avatar f tn Just diagnosed with Chiari and wondering what symptoms people initially had when diagnosed and what they become over time. Also, for years I have had headaches, but my symptoms have changed rapidly over the last 4 weeks, is it normal for progression to happen so quickly?? I feel like I can't think or process quickly and am often confused, is this normal or the anxiety of just finding out I have this condition? Anything anyone wants to say would be appreciated as this is new and scary.
Avatar m tn I am in a "depression class" (thanks Kaiser), and they say memory loss is very common with depression. With all the physical problems & meds to deal with them, who wouldn't be depressed????? I started on anti-depressants after 3 years sober, still very very depressed. It helps for a while, then stopped. I realize my entire life I have been depressed, and now have Fibromyalgia, and take Wellbutrin for that.
Avatar n tn no frequent urine no Pain because of muscle spasms, Pain in the arms or legs, Problems moving arms or legs, and no Problems walking also I don’t have any of the other symptoms such as loss of memory. In fact I actually workout 6 days a week, I eat healthy and my blood work that I've done recently came out fine. Just this mild dizzy spells that I get one a while followed with fatigue, sometimes pressure around my ears but only when I’m tired or stressed out.
Avatar m tn Memory problems and/or "brain fog" are a very common symptom of hypo. However, as you mention, other scripts, etc. can also be to blame. If you'd post your most recent FT3, FT4 and TSH with reference ranges (ranges vary lab to lab and have to come from your own lab report), we can take a look and see if you look like your meds are well adjusted for you. Do you have other hypo symptoms as well? What thyroid meds do you take and dose? What other meds are you taking?
Avatar f tn I have the exact problem. I have ADHD. I dont remember a lot before the age of 13, from then I had to mostly relearn everything I had learned in my younger years. Now I find it hard to remember anything I read, listen to, or try and study. I feel lost and confused since I am only 19 with this type of problem.
676143 tn?1312941771 So does anyone else have problems with memory lately? I feel like the baby is sucking my brain away. I keep forgetting so many little things. Luckily, it hasn't gotten me in to too much trouble yet - but one of these days I am going to forget something really important!
Avatar f tn I have FM for over 12 years now, I've read numerous books, I belong to the National Fibromyalgia Network, The Fibromyalgia Association, and follow the latest research on many aspects of FM. These include, medical and pharmaceutical research. There is NO evidence that people with FM have brains that age faster. There is a neurological aspect to FM that can affect our brains. Our neurotransmitters may not be firing right to put it simply.
Avatar f tn Not that I would wish any one on this post, especially you Dave, to have memory problems, but at least I feel more assured that it is normal. Thanks for responding.
Avatar m tn I would love to learn another language but nothing sticks, tho this is a problem i've had since i was young my father being from another country, but no matter how i try i can't get my head around it.
1842804 tn?1319756311 You and I sound very similar in the way the MS is progressing. I am still mobile, but do have many physical symptoms--mostly pain and spasticity. However, the biggest complaint is the mental/cognitive issues and fatigue. I am on a generic form of Provigil. My insurance won't cover Provigil so I get the medicine through a Canadian pharmacy (medicine made in India). This medicine is wonderful and works as well as the Provigil did.
Avatar m tn Thank you for your response I don't use any drugs, no seizures depression is not an issue either but I do get little sleep after I finish my day before I go to sleep I stay up till 2:30-3:30 am everyday on the tv or computer and wake up around 7:30-8 if I don't have to wake up for college I usually get a couple more hours of sleep a night but 4 or 5 days a week im getting between 4.5-5.
Avatar m tn are there any products on the market that can help short term memory loss that are safe and work as well as they claim?
