Avatar f tn Post-traumatic stress disorder is a type of anxiety disorder as I understand so yes it can be one reason your heart failure developed. I strongly believe mine happened because of high stress level for years and very high for a few months. Even with family history, viral infection, and long time not treated high blood pressure that all also factors, and I had them all ,if the stress level wasn’t that high that I had I probably never get down that suddenly and badly.
Avatar f tn Yesterday and today Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) has been associated with any traumatic event which leaves the witness/participant with feelings of helplessness. There are several definitions for PTSD however, I believe the most accurate is: PTSD is an emotional injury based on a catastrophic event.
728480 tn?1312059930 For a person with borderline personality disorder, however, part of the cause of it is a traumatic childhood experience. And for ptsd, a person would not have acquired it otherwise but the traumatic experiences caused brain changes. And people would say psychiatry isn't up on the exact chemical mechanisms of the brain but the experimental treatment for schizoaffective I am on targets the receptors in an exact manner and the genetic studies of schizophrenia proved this.
324184 tn?1308076203 Zoloft is used to treat depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD). Initially, it tends to make us feel like robots, like were in a fog, running on auto-pilot, but after the medication reaches it full effect within your system, you should see these side effects fading, although they may not disappear completely. It's better, however, than suffering on a daily basis.
Avatar f tn Sounds like post-traumatic stress disorder with flashbacks of the traumatic episode being the leading the symptom. You should seek out a medical professional and get the help needed for it.
Avatar f tn Washington (CNN) -- The Department of Veterans Affairs is making it easier for veterans who suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder to get benefits, a development President Barack Obama calls a "long overdue step." In his weekly address Saturday, Obama said Veterans Affairs will launch new rules for easing PTSD documentation requirements starting next week.
5957912 tn?1379936972 Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) does not 'go away' and is not 'cured', like the rest of the mental disorders we see so much of these days like depression, anxiety, etc. These disorders must be MANAGED, with counseling, medication, or both. Ask your doctor about this.
