Common Questions and Answers about Complete blood glucose normal values

glucose

Avatar m tn Acceptance criteria in ISO 15197, 2003 are that 95% of all differences in glucose values (i.e., between reference method and meter) should be within 15 mg/dL for glucose values less than 75 mg/dL, and within 20% for glucose values greater than or equal to 75 mg/dL.
Avatar n tn Hello! I'm not a medical professional, just the parent of a kid with diabetes. The normal blood glucose ranges for anyone, child or not are between 80 and 120. Some doctors will say 70-110, but it's all in the same range. Now, that's the target, but depending on what is eaten for example, a healthy person's blood glucose can rise temporarily up close to 200. As long as the values return to normal after a couple hours, all is well.
Avatar m tn Normal values for TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) range from 0.4 - 4.0 milli-international units per liter (mIU/L).
Avatar f tn I had a complete blood count with differential yesterday that showed normal values for all ranges. Is this sufficient to show no HIV or is that a separate test?
Avatar m tn But whenever i check the blood glucose levels with the glucometer, i find that the fasting values are not within the range of normal values viz 110 for fasting. but the post lunch levels always within the normal range of viz 140.The random levels always varies from 125 to 150. Kindly advise me whether i am diabetic and do i have to take medicine for diabetes?
Avatar f tn Does a persons age play a factor for their "normal" fasting glucose range? During my last visit to my 82 yo mother, I happened to see her test results that showed her fasting glucose range topping out at 180 mg. I, on the other hand, being 60 yo & under immunosuppressant meds have a range from 50 - 150 mg, yet I constantly hear the normal range is 70 - 120. Both of our blood samples are tested at the same lab too. So what is the "normal" fasting glucose range?
Avatar m tn t worry much about the red blood levels that are elevated. The important cell characteristic values are all normal: MCV, MCHC and RDW. There is only a minor elevation in your Hematocrit and related values. And simply doing a bunch of yard work with a lot of sweating/dehydration can cause this. A simple retest with normal fluid levels will likely show normal values. What your doctor is primarily worried about is the elevation in the liver enzymes.
Avatar n tn Upon performing the 2hr OGTT (using 75g drink) or the 3hr OGTT (using 100g drink), on several occasions, I have experienced serum glucose values measured at 1hr lower than those of the 2hr glucose values (Fasting glucose within reference range and all samples collected, processed, and separated within appropriate timing). For individuals with "mild" diabetes and suspected gestational diabetes, how likely it is for glucose measurements to show this trend?
Avatar n tn ve been having troubles lately before I knew my blood sugar was high, after I would eat I would feel very bad, not knowing I had high blood sugar I was leading a normal diet, even some fast food here and there, I'm sure my blood sugar has been very very high until I started dieting now. Are those numbers normal or should I be worried?
514349 tn?1272801633 you should give the values on these tests. example for blood glucose you need to have certain values or range that can help doctor assess if your pre diabetic or diabetic or needs additional test.
Avatar n tn About a year and a half a year ago, I was diagnosed with impaired glucose fasting, fasting glucose level was 119. At that time I was complaining of constant thirst, frequent urination, and sometimes night sweats, and slow healing. 6 month follow-up (one year ago) the fasting glucose level was 113. A1C was 6.0 I have been modifiying diet, exercising frequently and have lost approx 10-12 lbs.
Avatar f tn Misdiagnosis of congestive heart failure, kidney failure, blood clot. Several blood and urine tests reveal no cause (CBC, HepC, complete thyroid panel, glucose, hormone, etc.). EKGS, xrays, ultrasound, CT scan reveal nothing. My left leg measures between 7 and 8 inches enlarged, right is between 5 and 6 inches, and an overall weight gain of about 20 pounds in the legs. Although it varies in size and shape, the swelling does not go away. It is not water retention.
Avatar f tn The A1c provides an insight on your past 2-3 month glucose levels. Red blood cells live on average 2-3 months. Excess glucose rides on new red blood cells, the A1c captures this and provides an estimated three month daily average. " If a result such as 5.8% translates into an "average daily" value of 120 mg/dL, how can 5.8% be considered normal?" An A1c of 5.8% equates to an eAG [estimated daily Average Glucose] of 120 mg/dl, key word is estimated.
550622 tn?1247656720 An elevated MPV is usually accompanied by analytes of the complete blood count being out of reference range. Slightly elevated or decreased MPV values if the rest of the CBC is normal are usually not significant. Values 15% out of range should be referred to a physician to determine cause. Your numbers are so slightly out of range, they more than likely mean nothing is amiss. Hope this helps.
Avatar m tn Normal values for a C-peptide test are usually between 0.5 and 2.0 ng/mL. However, check you results as labs vary with ranges. You A1c indicates you glucose [blood sugar] on a daily average is 314-330 mg/dl, very unhealthy and can lead to serious life threatening conditions if not brought under control. Didn't you discuss your results with your doctor? Obtain paperwork on how to manage and control your rising glucose levels?
Avatar n tn We are not physicians, so please check anything we write with your own physician. Your symptoms could be either high or low glucose, and the purchase of the glucometer is the best way to find out if abnormal glucose levels are the cause of your symptoms. The normal non-diabetic's glucose ranges from 70-126 when fasting. I have read that after meals, glucose levels can go up to about 146 before a person is considered in the diabetic range.
Avatar f tn Nothing alarming to me as well, and in fact, as tx progresses you will note more and more values in the abnormal range. This is normal for treatment and your doctor or nurse should have explained this to you. Did they do your hemoglobin and Absolute Neuts? These are two important values that should be apart of your labs.
Avatar n tn Could my itchy rashes have been the cause of my eosinophils being elevated? 14% is not too much higher than what the normal range allows on this CBC count normal values. My eosinophils were either 13% or 15% back 10 years ago.. Anyway, I am doing much better now since I have increased my fiber, cut out the junk foods, drink buttermilk and eat yogurt everyday. all of my pain is gone... Do I need to be concerned or just play it by symptoms. I feel great!
Avatar m tn The difference between a fasting glucose of 101 and 106 is probably negligible. Both of your values suggest that you have impaired fasting glucose (range 100 - 125). The measurement is the same in fasting and non fasting testing - the difference is in the reference range. A normal fasting glucose is < 100 and the current thinking seems to be that even a result in the mid to high 90s might suggest close monitoring.
Avatar m tn I have recently visited an endo because my fasting glucose was a bit high, 95 on the last blood work. Every other test was completely normal. After a complete blood/urine test, everything came back normal, including A1C of 4.8 My endo suggested that I can take the glucose tolerance test to be sure (he is very thorough). I even bought a glucose meter and tested myself for a week (2 hrs postmeal was around 120). I just got home, very depressed about my GTT results.
Avatar f tn my doctor just said because of blood test values that it was "recent" all info about blood lab values is getting more and more confusing. since first outbreak i assumed it had to be 2 to 20 before?
