Avatar f tn I had a complete blood count with differential yesterday that showed normal values for all ranges. Is this sufficient to show no HIV or is that a separate test?
Avatar f tn I was wondering if anyone has had several CBC's and had slightly elevated white blood count? The last 3-4 times in which I've had a complete blood count they notice that it's elevated but not to the point where it becomes a concern ( so the doctor says) but I still find it strange.
Avatar m tn Consult a neurophysician for a detailed evaluation. Rule out low or high blood pressure, check complete blood count for anemia and polycythemia, antiphospholipid antibodies for coagulopathy and urinalysis for glucose. You may also need neuroimaging study to rule out intracranial pathology, which could also be affecting visual pathway. Consider these speculations. Auditory hallucinations could have been due to hyponatremia since they got better with treatment. Wish you all the best.
Avatar f tn If this system is not working properly, you have diabetes insipidus, a condition characterized by urinating copious amounts, getting dehydrated over and over and a high level of sodium in the blood is present. But my blood sodium was normal. I also copied some info from this website: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16943900?dopt=AbstractPlus which said (paraphrased) many with POTS have low blood volume.
Avatar f tn I would say that would rather discount a cortisol issue. But it does take more than one set of testing to rule an issue in or out. Cortisol normally drops at noon. Cortisol peaks at 8am, and drops thru the day to reach a low around midnight.
Avatar n tn Once, I had a complete blood count where my numbers were all within normal range, but an iron panel revealed I had iron deficiency. An iron panel was done because I was experiencing symptoms of iron deficiency (see private message for more info on symptoms). Did you have any symptoms that prompted the doctor to run your blood tests?
Avatar n tn ABG = arterial blood gasses CBC with Diff = complete blood count with differential (keeping an eye on the eosinophil count. Chest x-ray = to show the affected areas or may be normal Bronchial provocation studies = will purposly induce an attack to target the problem and reverse through drug administration. Some drug administrations: bronchodilator therapy = theophylline or aminophylline, beta 2 adrenergic agonist (albuterol or terbutaline).
63984 tn?1385437939 A BNP test showed numbers of 2217, which is a marker for CHF, I learned from my doctor. Also the blood test showed a Sodium level of 115, which prompted a call today (Sunday) from the on-call doctor to come in to the office tomorrow. I got the idea that I may be hospitalized for observation. I am simply exhausted and find that I'm a bit confused and unsteady on my feet. I'm surprised that the medical team is more concerned about the sodium than the BNP.
Avatar n tn t sound like the checkup included blood draws to look at your chemistry panel or a complete blood count [CBC]. The chemistry panel will look at your creatinine [kidney function], sodium, and potassium levels. Low potassium levels (hypokalemia), can cause an irregular heart rhythm along with improper blood pressure. Ask the doctor for a complete health checkup, not a physical exam. Good luck.
Avatar n tn Are there any other signs or symptoms present? Chest x-ray, complete blood count and complete medical and physical examination is needed to help with the diagnosis. It would be best to see your doctor to rule out any differentials and to reach a complete diagnosis. Take care and regards.
Avatar n tn Normally simple blood tests results like hemogram, total cell count, complete blood checkup, blood sugar, electrolytes etc are available the same day. Some times the tests are done and the report not uploaded on the computer due to technical delays. So if you do not get them by tomorrow, yes, definitely follow this up. Hope this helps. Take care!
727499 tn?1239627655 Any fever over 101 in an adult is serious. There are so many different liver enzymes to keep track of that I couldn't help you with the specifics. If this blood test was just a recent check up thing as in a CBC (core blood count), I'd ask to get a liver panel done... this test specifically tests the liver enzymes at which point they can see how well your liver is functioning. If you are concerned it is your liver going a bit crazy, you can certainly do something about it.
