I consulted the Doctor again today because I don’t get complete relief from fever and cough. He advice to do blood and urine test. After test my Platelet count is 2.8 Lakhs and TC is 4400 CELLE/CUMS. He checked the test result and retest after two days. He said that PC and TC level are low. May be Dengue/Viral fever. Can u advice me?

I got dengue fever 7-8 months before and I did lots of platelet count tests( I was admitted in the hospital for 5 days). I continued the platelet tests till this july along with my sugar level test( I don't have sugar ,but I keep testing it every 2-3 months).

I have had the problem of low blood platelets for years - they go ip and down! Had loads of tests but nothing - but im tired and have lots of head rushes during the day..any ideas what this could be? Recent fbc :- WBC 6.35 RBC. 3.94 Platelets 59 Anyone can help??

I had a sudden onset of high fever one night and my skin turned red all over. A day Iater saw a doc and we took a dengue test and a blood count test to see if my platelets were low. The following day the dengue test came back neg ( but the doc said that is to be expected since it was early on in the sickness) he did notice that my WBC count was low and my platelets were in the low range too - so he concluded dengue. Good idea. Then there is cholera and dengue too. No kidding. Many in his village just have minor dengue reactions due to prolonged exposure. And cholera is pretty rampant in the hot summer months too.

I was wondering if anyone has had several CBC's and had slightly elevated white blood count? The last 3-4 times in which I've had a complete blood count they notice that it's elevated but not to the point where it becomes a concern ( so the doctor says) but I still find it strange.

It was after 45 days of blood transfusion. Came negative result. Tb was concluded and told to continue medicines for 9 months. I did complete the medicine course being always scared of MDR tb by googling on net, every 2 months doctors visit, multiple ct scan and xray. Doctors said an old scar is remaining and you are healed. Still I irritated the doctors by going there in every 3 month or so.

Imigran brought pain down to 5, but would worsen again after a few hrs. Only a few hrs per day of complete relief. Pain was pressure behind both eyes & infrequent sharp stabbing pain in right side of head. Sensitive to light during this time. Blood and urine tests, X-rays, ultrasound were inconclusive. Blood tests ruled out bacterial infection but showed body under severe stress. No signs of infection in pancreas/ gallbladder. Genital ulcers negative for herpes/yeast.
