A complete blood count, urine examination and a blood culture may be required to reach a diagnosis. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Avatar f tn That is simply a complete blood count and nutrient panel. It is one of the most basic blood tests. It should test your iron levels and not just your red blood cell count. Size matters to determine anemia. So, it will count your blood cells, and it will determine cholesterol levels and iron, and your basic vitamin panels. Be sure they include your vitamin D levels.

Avatar m tn I went for a routine blood test, and they found a elevated White Blood Count which could be a sign of Leukemia or just some type of infection. Mine turned out to be Leukemia. Please post how your doing after you see a doctor for a thorough check-up.
Avatar m tn Anyways, he ordered a complete blood count and a couple other blood tests to rule out Lupus, etc. These tests came back normal and he diagnosed me a type of eczema that causes pin ***** type spots which are from blood vessels. Is this possible? After researching, I can find nothing like this. If they were not looking for Leukemia and I did have it, would it show up in the CBC?
1553907 tn?1367609586 Hi and sorry you are going through this. Have you had a complete blood count done? Did they see any atypical cells other than your high platelet count and high wbc? I would see a hematologist because of your results and symptoms. There are a few The red spots are probably petechiae and are more due to the high blood count than a rash or anything. I would worry about the H. pylori secondly. But it does need to get treated.
Avatar f tn Hi ! I am concerned about my blood work. I recently had a blood work done and my absolute lymphocyte count was 4806 and the quest range is 850-3900. at the time i had this test, i had pain in my neck maybe because i slept awkward and it was there even after for 2-3 days. the last time i had a test done was in jan 2019 and at that time i had a viral infection and it was 11.7 percent while normal range is 22-43 percent.
1803761 tn?1360052272 Since, rest of the blood count is normal, cancers of the blood are less likely. Do discuss this with your doctor. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history.
Avatar f tn Do you know if that could be leukemia or does leukemia always present with high WBC count in conjunction with differential abnormalities like mine? I have most of the symptoms of leukemia with the exception of fever. I know there are many other tests needed to get a diagnosis and I am of course hoping it isn't cancer, but I haven't been able to find any info on what could cause high lymphocyte percentages in normal or low-normal wbc counts.

Avatar f tn Can you tell me if my labs came back with a wbc count of 3.0 mean that I may most likely have Leukemia? Most of my lab's were all normal just the wbc, red cell count barely low, and alot more I could type in specific results if I know what you would like to see in order to take a look and see if I have a chance of it not being Leukemia. I have had a lupus panel, neg. I had rhumatoid Arthritis panel neg. Please let me know if anyone has any way of helping me figure it out.
Avatar f tn I had a complete blood count with differential yesterday that showed normal values for all ranges. Is this sufficient to show no HIV or is that a separate test?
Avatar m tn I took her back the following day (yesterday) and had her blood work again, this time her WBC count had dropped to 30,000. I am still very scared with counts this high and I am wondering if I should request further testing of her blood or bone marrow? Or should I just wait a couple of weeks until she feels better and take her in for another CBC? I am absolutely terrified that she may have something serious like leukemia. I feel like running around and demanding tests and screaming my head off.
Avatar n tn It is the constant plague with leukemia, ineffective white blood count, (ANC), LOW platelet count that shows up, along with the WBC that initially shows up making leukemia a cause for concern. My son had acute lymphoblastic (making his white blood cells never mature and become effective to fight infections)leukemia. Some leukemias make the white blood cells become ineffective at a different stage (acute lymphocytic leukemia).
Avatar f tn About 90% of people diagnosed with leukemia are adults so it is possible that you do not have blood cancer, but as I always say it's better to be safe than sorry. Also going to the doctors will help you find out why you have your symptoms and then you can get the treatment you need to get better. Here is some more information on leukemia which could be useful http://leukaemialymphomaresearch.org.uk/ & http://en.wikipedia.
Avatar n tn last week my friend took a blood test and the result was excess wbc count. when she takes b-complex tablets she gets pimples/bubbles near her mouth some white allergy at her toungue....im afraid wats the problem...can u please help me doctor please........
Avatar m tn He is diagnosed with AML (Accute Myleoid Leukemia) M-7 (Accute Megakaryoblastic leukemia) with 33% blasts in blood smear. Doctor suggested aggressive chemotherapy on him. Kindly suggest if it's right to follow doctors suggestion ? I'm worried about the stage of the disease and also the trauma that he has to go through with this kind of therapy. Please advise.
Avatar m tn Of course, it could also be linked to leukemia, but that would be the case if only a very specific white blood cell type was increased. If they found a mix of white blood cell types, not just one specific cell type, in a blood smear, then they would not suspect leukemia.
Avatar m tn Leukemia typically shows up in routine bloodwork--the complete blood count (CBC)--as an elevated white blood cell count or an extremely low white blood cell count. Sometimes, it also presents with a low red blood cell count. Your father's doctor may have mentioned that he exhibited signs of leukemia either because of the symptoms you mentioned your father having (fatigue, weakness, bone pain, etc.), or because your father had an elevated white blood cell count with a CBC the doctor had run.
