Common Questions and Answers about Complete blood count cancer

blood

Avatar f tn I had a complete blood count with differential yesterday that showed normal values for all ranges. Is this sufficient to show no HIV or is that a separate test?
Avatar n tn Are there any other signs or symptoms present? Chest x-ray, complete blood count and complete medical and physical examination is needed to help with the diagnosis. It would be best to see your doctor to rule out any differentials and to reach a complete diagnosis. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn I was wondering if anyone has had several CBC's and had slightly elevated white blood count? The last 3-4 times in which I've had a complete blood count they notice that it's elevated but not to the point where it becomes a concern ( so the doctor says) but I still find it strange.
Avatar m tn I had a complete blood count, and a complete metabolic panel. Is it hinting at cancer? The A/G Ratio was 2.8 Platelet count was 246 and the MCV was 93 BUN 23.1 BUN /Creatine was 19.1 WBC 7.4 RBC 5.43 hemoglobin 17 Hematrocrit 50.6 lymphs 27, lymphs absolute 2.0 Everything is towards the high side of normal. I am also showing I have Lyme Disease.
Avatar f tn i just feel bad for the last 6 months. my doctor did a complete blood work test. no arthritis or inflammation was not found. my CBC came back as followed. wbc was 14.1 rbc was 5.45 hematocrit was46.7 absolute neutrophils was 11018. everything else was in normal range. he seems concerned and wants to redo the test in a few weeks. what could this possible be. since platlets are normal could it still be a form of cancer.
Avatar f tn The number of white blood cells (WBCs) in the blood. The WBC is usually measured as part of the CBC (complete blood count). White blood cells are the infection-fighting cells in the blood. There are different types of white blood cells, including neutrophils (polymorphonuclear leukocytes; PMNs), band cells (slightly immature neutrophils), T-type lymphocytes (T cells), B-type lymphocytes (B cells), monocytes, eosinophils, and basophils.
Avatar n tn I had several blood tests taken, including the Complete Blood Count and the CA 125 test and a pregnancy test (along with an HIV test). Everything came back negative/normal except for my CBC, in which my white blood cell count was low. My doctor scheduled me for a CAT scan which I will take next Wednesday, along with a second round of ultrasounds next Friday.
Avatar m tn You have done a few tests. A complete metabolic panel and complete blood count would point to abnormalities in multiple systems in your body. However, you are also describing neurological symptoms. If you can't get a firm answer and your labs look clean (what is thick blood? Who told you this and what did they do to determine why?) see a good internal medicine doctor at a major medical center and keep pushing until you get an answer.
Avatar n tn My mother has stage 4 colon cancer, and has been monitoring her CEA count through blood work. Is this CEA count also a way of checking for any cancer throughout the body, because it would make me feel a lot better to get a blood test and know that I am clean.
Avatar m tn It is like when you have a fever and trying to find out what disease you have because you have a fever. You would need more information such as when they do a complete blood count, which type of white cells are high. There are many types of white cells that are all counted in a total WBC count. There are neutrophils, eosinophils, basophils, lymphocytes, and each have a normal percentage. They may check this next time if you count is still high.
Avatar n tn Sixteen months ago I had a blood test done and my white blood cell had a reading of 3.5 five months later it went up to 4.07 I went for a spleen an liver scan which was ok except some fat around the liver. Now I am having pain on my left side high in the rib area.Should I be worried that I may have Leukemia.I do not have any other symptoms.by the way I must say that I was treated for Pylori between blood tests.
Avatar f tn I just had a blood test, and my white blood cell count is 18.2. what can this be a symton of? Do I need to take care of this immediately? I get very tired very quickly and get dizzy if move too fast.
Avatar n tn I have just had blood tests done for my bipolar and checking my levels everything was normal but my White Blood Count was low it was 0.91 has been every year for about 4 years but 2010 was ok in one of the readings. What does this mean?
Avatar f tn There may be other cause/s for the decrease in your white blood cell count. Perhaps a peripheral blood smear can be done to check the morphology of the cells. A bone marrow biopsy can also be done to see if the marrow is not producing enough precursors. Regads.
Avatar f tn is it cancer ? i saw my GP and he thought it could be the cold and if am concerned, he told me to get the blood checked by hematologist.
Avatar f tn m dying of cancer. I can not quick freaking out over it. Two weeks ago I had a CBC (complete blood count) which revealed, to my astonishment, both blood counts were well within normal range. I also had a chest x-ray, EKG, and had my heart monitored 3 weeks ago and everything was A-OKAY! My heart rate and BP was good as well. I'm getting a full physical on the 8th and talking to my doctor about seeing a therapist.
Avatar f tn Also inside my lip a small bump formed and keeps getting infected. Are these signs that i have cancer? I had a complete blood count 2 months ago that came back okay, and a chest x ray for my shortness of breath. The shortness of breath is still there but much better than before. I am really worried, please can someone give me advice.
Avatar f tn I will have the lumpectomy a week from today and have just received my blood test. These readings seem to show everything to be in a normal range except, Platelet count is 405 and Basophils a little low. I was wondering if these readings can be any hint to what might be found at the lumpectomy?
