complaining

Avatar f tn After wasting time with Drs I ended up on the university level teaching hospitals. Maybe there is a school in the US where they study your child's disorder and you can get more recommendations.
Avatar f tn You clarified for me that ther actrually is time to address the matter with the teacher, but I think your plan is good. It capitalizes on the benefit your son will recieve by adhering to whatever guidelines the teacher establishes.
Avatar n tn I am a teacher and a diabetic for 27 years. So, I am shocked by the behavior of that teacher. As a teacher I would never lay a hand on a child! Thank goodness the next teacher was able to help you. You can get your son on a 504 plan. It is a plan to help children who are in need of some special assistance, but is not like an IEP, individual education plan. http://www.childrenwithdiabetes.com/504/, this website might help you to understand what a 504 plan is and how to implement.
Avatar f tn what could cause a rash on a child's face from playing outside at school in dirt, grass, near trees? and what is the best thing to do? the child's rash doesn't itch and is not swollen.

Avatar f tn I feel your pain. You ladies must be from california? Today was 106 and the heat makes me sooo sick one of the triggers to my morning sickness, and on top of that i am in school for 6 hours and have to walk way across campus to get to my other class. But its suppose to cool down soon. But i never go by what those people say they are wrong most of the time. But around nov is when i love the weather nice and cool in the 70's my type of weather.
Avatar n tn It has been about 7 weeks since he has been off all meds and is now having trouble falling asleep and staying asleep through the night and has already gotten suspended 3 times for behaviors at school. He is complaining that he can't concentrate in class and his frustration level is rising. It is so difficult with all of these different symptoms to delineate which issue to tackle 1st and which issue is exacerbating which.
Avatar f tn She has been pokingat, bothering, pushing and shoving other children that their parents are complaining. She won't sit still at school to complete her activities and constantly bothers others while they are doing their work. She does have a great attention span at home just not there. How can we make her behaviour less aggressive and help her to 'sit still' and complete her tasks to be better prepared for JK?
Avatar f tn If I may chime in on this, although a little late. School is usually the area most affected by a child's ADD/ADHD. It may not manifest itself while your child is, say, watching televiosion or playing with his sister. You might not notice it when he is riding in the car or playing ball in the yard. But when it comes to listening, following directions, organizing his desk, breaking an assignment up into steps, etc-- tasks associated with school-- the ADD/ADHD may become apparent.
Avatar f tn I didn't start looking until earlier this year. My son is 3.5 and in preschool at a private Christian School 2 mornings a week. We're in a pretty small area and it was the only school that accepts 3 year olds, except the ones on base but I didn't feel like competing with all the other military families.
Avatar f tn I have a son of six years old. We were recently (one years back) came to this country. When we were in our country, he is very active and he used to question me a lot if he needs to know something. After coming here, he used to this country day by day and now I feel that he is not listening to us. He wants to jump on bed ans sofas, he says he doesn't like to do the school home work and sometimes he says that he doesn't like to go to school.
Avatar n tn t stressing about getting in trouble at home as well as at school. (Which is totally unheard of to me, not punishing your child at home for misbehaving at school), but since he does seem to be anxious, I said I would give this a try. She also said that many of the problems are with one particular child, so I asked her to give the parents my number so we could get together outside of school and help the two boys learn appropriate ways to get along. She also said she thinks he will outgrow this.
Avatar f tn We have tried all of the parenting techniques we can find and she just keeps getting worse! Now her school is sending her to an alternative education school because they can no longe handle her behaviors. Well neither can I! I just don't know what to do anymore and I need help. What can I do to change my child's behavior problems before it is to late?
Avatar f tn My child's father is very selfish...so selfish that he left me, my daughter and his unborn 3 days after we found out that we were pregnant and two weeks before Christmas. He claimed that he was tired of seeing me cry...wow! Talk about selfish, self-centered and plain stupid. Men got it to easy...they can just walk away and do for them whenever they want to. Women have to be superwoman and the backbone....you are not alone!
Avatar f tn My son has been diagnosed with moderate to severe dyslexia, autistic spectrum disorder and mild and variable ADHD. He is about to turn 10. While he his at school he takes a small dose of ritalin but this wears off at about 4pm. I have been called into cubs on a few occassoins due to his reluctance to join in with certain activities as well as hitting/kicking other cubs on occassions.
Avatar f tn Also make your child wear cotton undergarments. Application of mild corticosteroid cream and oral antiinflammatories like ibuprofen/acetaminophen are also helpful. If the symptoms are severe then it will be best to consult a dermatologist I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how your child is doing or in case you have any additional doubts.
Avatar f tn if you're feeling depressed, lonely, etc, what do you wish your parents would do to help you?
Avatar f tn You need to be posing this question to your child's doctor.
Avatar n tn Well, I'm not a doctor but I don't think any 11 year old should be talking like that. Have you notified the school board about the child's actions? If you haven't yet you should immediately. And the parents should definitely be concerned about their child's actions. It doesn't sound like they're very good parents if they let him run around like a psycho threatening kids half his age.
Avatar f tn s a strong if, it would have died long before your daughter came in. Second, if you had virus on your hand, there probably wasn't enough to transmit it to anyone after just a quick scratch, especially when you didn't have an outbreak. Third, even if this was a sexual partner, and you touched yourself then immediately touched your partner's genitals, it wouldn't transmit. Hands are just a really inefficient way of transmitting any STD.
Avatar n tn My soon to be four year old daughter has slowly over this past year become more anxious and frightened of more things. She and her twin sister both attend fullday preschool during the school year, then are off over the whole summer (I'm a full time teacher) My daughter has gone from fearless to fearful. She never really took to preschool. She did well, but every day last year told me she had no friends and that she didn't want to go to school.
Avatar f tn Tess, have you gone to your Principal with your concerns? Someone from admin needs to sit in on your classroom, and evaluate her for further intervention. A child like this is disruptive to everyone in the classroom, and her behavior isn't a reflection on your ability to manage the classroom. Don't be embarrassed to ask for help, she really is exhibiting bizarre behavior. Have you had several parent meetings about her disruptive behavior?
Avatar n tn s just a habit that she now depends on for comfort. But the school teacher has notced and this is goung to become a significant issue if we don't do something now. Thanks.
Avatar f tn Hi there and welcome to med help. sorry you and your daughter are having a difficult time. Well, I think "it's boring" is code for "it's hard". I'd keep that in mind. She is craving physical movement as shown by her wanting to dance, roam, etc. I would set up situations for her to get that. Indoor soccer (or outdoor as spring arrives), swim lessons, dance class, karate, etc. are all options.
Avatar f tn I wish people stop complaining about what questions other people post... Either read it or don't! answer it or don't! I know this may seem hypocritical cuz i am doing the same thing right more but whatever! Don't read mine either!
