My 8 year old daughter is driving me crazy. She argues with everything I say, whines when told what to do, complains about homework, chores, brushing teeth, cleaning room, taking a shower, etc. She has always had terrific behavior at school and makes good grades. She's pleasant to everyone else - peers and adults alike. But the minute we pull in the driveway, it is non-stop negative attitude right up to bedtime.
I wish people stop complaining about what questions other people post... Either read it or don't! answer it or don't! I know this may seem hypocritical cuz i am doing the same thing right more but whatever! Don't read mine either!
Gym, are you starting this up again? The person hasn't asked a question that can be replied to -- he's posted this in several forums and nobody's answered because nobody understands what he's asking or what actually occurred. If it does involve past drug use, the last thing he wants to do is make it worse by contacting a licensing board.
I need some advise I have a 7yr old who doesn't listen to the rules when she is home and at school she doesn't listen either she is on med for the hdah or so with behavior issue she doesn't know when to stop talking in class and doesn't follow the direstions when told at school she sneaks things and steals small things when she is at her dads she is good cause she says she is afraid of the grandparents I just don't know what to do is there some kinda of place that will help o
Hi, my nephew is 10 yrs old and he very smart and does excellent in school and sports and karate. He is very social in his comfortable environment, ie, school, at home, karate class, science club...In a new environment he is sometimes quiet and shy until he gets comfortable and opens up. The past 2 weeks he has been very somber and has been complaining that his "stomache hurts" He hasn't been eating much at all and has not been sleeping very well. His mom took him to the Dr.
He is whiny, and always complaining with something. He has a very hard time making friends. Just like this week, he is going to a soccer camp and it is mostly boys- He says that he hasn't made friends with anyone and when I went to pick him up yesterday, he was sitting alone while all the other boys hung out. It breaks my heart to see him like this, because he so desperately wants to be included. He is very bossy, and likes to have things his way.
He kicked another boy in class and on the bus coming back from a field trip he punched the same boy in the nose giving him a bloddy nose. He has never done anything like this before. He has also been complaining about his stomach hurting, being even pickier about eating and once in a while throws up. My husband is active duty military and is currently deployed. He was sent to Haiti in January, was gone for 2 months, came home for 5 weeks and deployed again for 6 months.
In other words, if his teachers are actually complaining about the same things you are - then the possibility of him having ADHD is more likely.

I have a 2.5 year old daughter in home daycare. She's been with this daycare provider since the age of six weeks. Until several months ago, the provider only had two girls total to watch, the other girl is only two weeks younger than my daughter. Now the provider is watching two additional kids, a four year old, a one and a half year old, and an infant.
CECE, is he the only black child in the school except for your daughter? I do think in those cases, kids who are in the extreme minority do get extra scrutiny.
Are you guessing he's being singled out because he's Black? Maybe. Has your daughter been singled out for poor reports because of her race? Maybe her achievements have been even more greatly lauded because she stands out?
He lives with us,and he is a alcoholic and always grouchy. He yells and swears at the stupidest things.always complaining and i feel like leaving my own house. Ill spare everyone the detsils but I switched to the suboxone because I really want to live a normal life but unfortunately I never could quit opiates , and the times ive been complaining clean lasted a week or two. Looking for direction in helping my 11 year old daughter w/ behavior issues which are affecting her socially. She has alienated people with her constant complaining/negativity. She has moments of irritability and has a "dirty" mouth - which she saves for the parents and a sibling. Her behavior has caused a lot of strife in our home life. I'm wondering if her behavior is influenced by something physical or mental.

My stepson routinely punches and bullies other children, says the most hateful things, lashes out at authority figures in violence, and refuses to follow rules at home or daycare. My husband and I had a few rough months with him when he was 2.5, but everything settled down at our house.
