This doesn't translate to clinical findings which really show no significant effect from pantoprazole. Part of this can be explained because, though people think that this is a wonder drug, clopidogrel reduces the incidence of recurrent cardiovascular event only from about 11% to about 9%.

The diarrhea is sticky and either black or grey and it burns. I tested negative for occult blood. Rarely with the dry heaving fits do I vomit, but when I do it is dark purple or greyish.

Avatar m tn The pain which you suffered is probably due to some acute gastritis/peptic ulcer pain which typically occurs in the night and is usually associated with nausea. If you take some antacids/omeprazole/pantoprazole, you’ll be fine. Please consult gastroenterologist/physician and you may need an endoscopy in case the symptoms recur on regular basis, otherwise a short course of anti-ulcer drugs should be fine. I hope that helps. Please do keep me posted.

Along with it you can try over the counter antacids. Avoid heavy meals. Avoid too much of caffeine, tea, fried food and drinks both alcoholic and non alcoholic fuzzy ones. Avoid heavy exercises within 4 hours of a heavy meal. Raise the head end of the bed or raise pillows to 30 degrees. Go to bed at least 2 hours after food.
