Avatar n tn Is there a significant difference between using an albuterol inhaler as opposed to a Combivent inhaler? I have a family member that receives an extra monthly Combivent inhaler but am not sure if it is safe to use long term instead of the albuterol I was prescribed.
Avatar f tn Advair and Spiriva is a common combination of meds for COPD patients. However, you should also have a rescue inhlaer containing some form of albuterol. Combivent is another option used by many COPD patients. It contains albuterol and ipatropium. Combivent may be off the market in the US though as the EPA has banned the use of CFC's propelants in inhalers. I don't think they were able to reformulate this medication to fit these new laws.
Avatar n tn I am using combivent(4x a day ) and serevent diskus 50mcg 2x for my moderate severe copd, I have just started Flovent 50mcg inhaler. Is this OK or should I cutdown on the combivent ?
Avatar n tn I have been using Combivent for about a month together with Asmanex to treat my cough-variant asthma and have had pretty good results. However, the first inhalation of Combivent always triggers a major coughing spell (sometimes it's so severe I almost vomit or my ribs hurt). Are there other bronchodilators that might be easier to inhale and still be effective? Or would using a nebulizer help? I've heard there can be adverse side effects with a nebulizer.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know if an inhaler ( I use combivent) can aggravte PACS and PVCS? I had breakfast this morning and then used my inhalers and my heart started doing some weird pvcs and pacs anyone else ever have this happen?
Avatar m tn Hi , I'm not well versed with any answers but wanted to welcome you to the community and also mention that I think the Combivent needs to be used on a longer-term basis if I'm not mistaken .. I'm a mom to two asthmatic children and it takes awhile for that type of inhaler to work with the long-term steriodal properties. Sometimes it's a hit or miss of a combo of meds to get the best ones to work for your EIA from what I've seen, too, but I'm not a doctor.
Avatar f tn To my knowledge there is no legitimate source for obtaining T3 in the US without a prescription. If I may ask, why are you interested in T3 only. Also, are you not able to get a script from your doctor?
212161 tn?1599427282 I use advair twice a day and combivent when my asthma kicks in and i don't notice much racing when i use em
Avatar n tn ve recently had an asthma attack due to spring pollen and other related environmental condition that increase during this season. I take a Combivent inhaler as a rescue treatment for my asthma. The problem at this point is that is a provides short relief and has choked me to the point of passing out. Could you please tell me what is causing this reaction. What would be a better method and inhaler. This discussion is related to <a href='http://www.medhelp.
1398693 tn?1343684738 25 MG/3ML IN NEBU 2X a day before Advair, Singular 10 MG PO TABS, Advair Diskus 500-50 MCG/Dose in AEPB 2X a day, Qvar 80 MCG/ACT IN AERS 2 puffs 2X a day for my severe asthma and I do get relief from the Combivent only to have the chest heaviness come back hours later. So if it were from tight muscles in my chest wouldn’t the Combivent not work because is affecting the lungs and not the muscles?
Avatar n tn I use this new combivent inhaler 4 x a day so how long does one inhaler last and how often does it get refilled.
1096856 tn?1333119985 I have done a lot of research on the drug Clomid and am considering buying off the internet and just trying it for a couple of months without going through the whole drama of going to an infertility doctor. I am 43 and have been TTC for about 5 months using OPK's, with no luck. I just started charting my temps to see if I can tell if I am even ovulating. My periods have become quite irregular over the last year.
Avatar n tn the doctor said: "how was it “finally determined that I’m allergic to sulfate (sulfite?) based albuterol? You would want to be very sure that this diagnosis is correct before you proceed to eliminate a whole variety of foods and medicines that contain sulfite preservatives. " after you wrote i did some more research - evidently the preservative i'm allergic or sensitive to is "benzalkonium chloride BAC".
Avatar f tn One month ago ( around the time that I stopped nursing my 10-month-old) I started getting random lip swelling. From there it turned into itchy hives all over my body. I got a lot of blood work done for my allergist and immunologist everything came back normal but my CU index (chronic urticaria) was slightly elevated suggesting it's autoimmune response. He tested for a large variety of autoimmune disorders. The doctor is treating my symptoms with Zantac, Zyrtec, and Singulair.
Avatar n tn I have had a dry cough for about four years now. Lately, it's sometimes a productive cough. I was told I have asthma and I get sinus infections. I use an inhaler (Combivent) but that doesn't stop the coughing. It will get so bad that I will start to gag. One interesting thing is that when I lay down, I have no inclination to cough. Could it be my tonsils? Should I see an ENT?
Avatar n tn By giving one med before the other the optimal medicinal performance is obtained with a minimum of medication. There is a difference of opinion regarding this issue. My brain is foggy, but that is how it was explained to me a long time ago by a very knowledgable R.N. Ocassionally there are side effects, and mixing the drugs does not hold well for figuring out the problem.
Avatar f tn I need advice. Ill see my doctor for the first time in a week and a 1/2, so what if I take them until I see the doctor?
Avatar m tn probably close to 20/20 I would guess without I would guess because as I said your prescription is very low. Yes a small amount of astigmatism could cause you to squint a little.
1737159 tn?1316672635 You really have to ask your pediatrician about this, and, as suggested, try an alternative treatment plan. Your concerns are justified. There are side effects, but on balance they are not serious in relation to the benefit. On the other hand, asthmatic attacks develop suddenly and without medications can be fatal. So it isn't reasonable to stop them without careful consultation with a pulmonary specfalist.
Avatar f tn Is it possible for a contact lens prescription to improve without having any vision correction? My prescription went from -3.75 to -3.50.
Avatar f tn I'm 19yrs old, previously I have been encountering itch from my chest without a rash which wasn't that irritated so I didn't went to a doctor, a few weeks later the itch has moved from my chest to my chest and belly, at this time it was that much so I went to the doctor and was given medical help which didn't work that much, so a week later I started feeling the itch around my waist and beneath my bottom which I went to a new doctor who had difficulty figuring out what it is but
Avatar f tn I had a hard time posting within the word limits and forgot to note that I can't take Combivent either, for some reason I become very short of breath after a few doses. I'm doing fine now with no Spiriva or NAC and having only minor, sporadic congestion. What do you take instead of medications? I'm having a very hard time tolerating anything anymore.
