Colonoscopy with polypectomy

Common Questions and Answers about Colonoscopy with polypectomy

colon

Avatar m tn s just turned four years since the colonoscopy (the consultant who did the colonoscopy also did a follow-up flexible sigmoidoscopy in September 2009). My GP said that as the polyp was benign there's no need for a further follow-up. However, I've read some guidelines for follow ups after a polypectomy which say a colonoscopy should be carried out after three years for polyps that are 10mm or larger.
Avatar n tn I have a colonoscopy coming up in a week and have a question regarding the clear liquid diet I have to follow. Is it alright to drink Enlive! (a clear liquid nutrion drink with carbs and protein)? It's a low residue nutritional supplemtent drink supposedely fine for those on clear liquid diets. Will drinking Enlive interfere with the colon prep in any way? Can any GI doctors here confirm this?
Avatar n tn I recently had a colonoscopy, which revealed tubulovillous adenoma, 1 CM, with focal high grade cell dysplasia. The doctor removed the polyp, with a diagnosis appearing to be free of dysplasia. Frankly, I am from the Boston area and now reside in Florida. I have a LOT more confidence in a Boston doctor's opinion. I am 54 years old, smoke and drink occasionally. The doctor suggests I have another colonoscopy in 6 months.
Avatar m tn I had the colonoscopy done 3 days ago(sat) . Six hours after the colonoscopy, I had a chill, fever, and terrible headache on Sat night. So I went to see the doctor who performed the colonoscopy first thing on Monday. He pulled the blood sample for WBC counts (some indication of infection per the result) and gave me IV with antibiotics.
Avatar n tn When they did the colonoscopy did they diagnosis him with any hemmorhoids? Hemmorhoids, especially severe ones, can cause all of these symptoms.
Avatar n tn My fiance recently had a colonoscopy in which the doctor found a polyp. The polyp was removed and everything seemed fine until early the next morning, he had severe abdominal pain. The doctor directed him to the emergency room to have a ct scan. They found that during the polypectomy, the doctor removed too much and made a "micro-perforation" in his colon. He was admitted to the hospital for four days under close watch with lots of fluids, antibiotics and pain meds.
Avatar f tn Hi, I have a 16 year old daughter with blood in her stool. She had a colonoscopy showing normal. Upper GI biopsy only showing zero enzymes to break down milk (lactose intolerant). It has been 4 long months and we still do not have any answers. My hope is to possibly get this out so someone somewhere may have or had the same issue. Looking for any help in direction from here. Thanks!

Avatar m tn I am 40 yrs old, and never been pregnant. i had 2x uterine polypectomy, 1 in 2007 and 1 in 2011. a hysterosonogram was done last week may 2013 and they found 2 polyps. the OB gyne MD gave me 2 options, either a polypectomy or hysterectomy. as much as possible i would like to avoid a hysterectomy because of the post effects. I am also concerned with the polyps coming back as I age. Still not decided what to have. I would appreciate any feedbacks regarding this matter. thanks!

Avatar m tn Eccentric wall thickening involving the rectum with mild perirectal lymphadenopathy concerning for rectal carcinoma." Now I am really worried. Anyone else have this to have it be benign??
Avatar n tn However if it is more than that I would be concerned that there may be something wrong with your hormones or with the endometrium ie the uterine cavity. You can be tested for hormone problem by doing a mid luteal progesterone level and you can be tested for uterine problem with a saline infusion sonohysterogram.
Avatar f tn Went in for polypectomy and ablation. Woke up also to have laprascopic exploratory.
Avatar f tn Hi - I am due to have a hysteroscopy, 360 degree curettage and polypectomy for one polyp found in my uterus. My ob-gyn suggested it could be possible to have done under local anaesthetic -(whilst taking 1000mg of paracetamol and 400mg ibruprofen just beforehand). My question is -will this still mean a very painful and uncomfortable procedure (30 minutes long)? My ob-gyn said I would have to be resilient to have just a local anaesthetics for this.
Avatar f tn A little background info: I've been TTC for over two years. Back in April I got pregnant and miscarried at 8 weeks (only sac developed, fetal pole showed up only on first ultrasound and then was gone). I hadn't been trying at that point because I was in need of a polypectomy. My husband and I had sex on cycle day 4 and cycle day 35 that month (I'm assuming the conception happened around day 5 or 6...VERY early in cycle).
Avatar n tn i had sex with the same partner for 3days straight just once a day then skipped a day then had sex again with the same person, but that morning when i woke up to pee after the last day i had pain in my abdomen after i urinated with blood that dripped from my vagina, i am diagnosed with (HerpesSimplesVirus) but this has never happened and i have had the same sexual partner...what can this be?
Avatar m tn A 20 year old male college student experiencing issues with the colon. Slight blood in the stool, thin stool, use toilet 5-7 times per day; feel like still have to use toilet. Have experienced some loss of energy. Cramps after use the toilet. No problem with urination. Scheduled for a colonoscopy in a couple of weeks. Believe this situation started when he ate undone chicken in the college cafeteria. This started Feb 2013. Does anyone else have any similar symptoms.
280234 tn?1532986249 I was wondering if any other young adults have been diagnosed with colon polyps? I'm a 34/f who was recently diagnosed with a 1.1 cm "Tubulovillous adenoma" during a colonoscopy (was seeing blood/mucous in stool for about 6 months). The lab report came back that it was benign, and my GI doctor said follow up with him in 3 years. From what my GI doctor told me, and what I've read about these, they are considered precancerous. Following up in 3 years makes me nervous.
Avatar m tn I have a very long history with those damn things. I've had them removed like 7 times. The issue with getting an ultrasound without saline while on your period is that it's hard to tell on the screen what's a polyp and what's possibly a blood clot or clump of tissue due your period. If I were you I'd get the hysteroscopy/polypectomy done for sure because in the 7 times I've had polyps, not once did one get reabsorbed in the uterus.
Avatar m tn I had undergone a hystoscopy polypectomy and gynaec D &C. The hispathology report goes likes this: Nature of specimen: endometrial polyp The histology shows variable sized proliferative type of glands, irregularly distributed in compact stroma. The glands show irregular branching, budding and cystic dilation. Foci of crowding of glands are evident. There is absence of nuclear atypia. Diagnosis: Disorderly proliferative endometrium Can you please tell me what it indicates?

439464 tn?1213827634 I had a colonoscopy on Monday for a positive blood in stool. I have a history of irritable bowel off and on. I also have a history of a Bence Jones protein. My colonoscopy report came back as scattered reactive lymphoid follicles. Does anyone know what this means?
Avatar m tn sorry about that, been having problems with me key board, keys not typying when I hit them. That was suppose to be, I would not worry about any disease, not yet.. but always best to check for peace of mind. I hope all turns out ok.
Avatar n tn I am post menopausal and on Hormone Replacement Therapy and have had two D&C with hysteroscopy and polypectomy.
