Colonoscopy reversal

Common Questions and Answers about Colonoscopy reversal

colon

Avatar m tn The reversal was performed on Dec 12th and so far seemed successful. I did find the second surgery to be more painful and still dealing with a little soreness. My question is about a recent development of pain starting yesterday that feels a lot like the symptoms I had before going into the hospital for the first surgery. A slight case of constipation and a sharper pain in the middle of my stomach area. Pressing on the area causes more pain and it feels like my stomach is a little swollen.
Avatar n tn This led to transfusions, several surgeries, septic shock, transverse loop colostomy, reversal. About a month after the reversal the pain started, and now I am almost permanently attached to a heating pad, or aching for motrin! I can't eat much, it only increases the pain, and am cautious with alot of stretching or exercises that might irritate it. Any thoughts? I know I have a complex history, but Im not even sure at this point if I should go to a GI doc or a PT or something else.
Avatar m tn I have to have a colonoscopy this year and from my reading it looks like midazolam is the drug of choice. Are there other options? I've read about propofol, but the cost and risk discussed in the various articles make it seem like a controversial choice. I've also read of people having the procedure without sedation. Does this mean without anything, or are they on some kind of pain med?
Avatar m tn I HAD A REVERSAL ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO. BUT I STILL HAVE A LOT OF DIARRHEA, IS THAT NORMAL. ALSO I HAVE A LOT OF GAS, EVEN IF I DONT EAT ANYTHING THAT WOULD CAUSE IT. WHAT CAN I DO TO GET THIS IN CONTROL. HOW ABOUT DIET? IS THERE ANYTHING I SHOULDNT EAT OR SHOULD EAT?
Avatar f tn I have a 13 year old son who had a colostomy reversal 3 years ago. Luckily he only had to have the colostomy bag for 6 months. (which seemed like an eternity) After the reversal, we had to watch his diet, make sure he got lots of fiber, etc. Ever since the reversal, he has had lots of stomach problems, including pain near the incision site, constipation, stomach aches, excessive gas, and belching. I have asked the doc about this many times, and they say there is nothing wrong.
Avatar m tn IVF, but it's just as expensive as a tubal reversal, if it doesn't work you have to continue doing it until one sticks with you! You are better off with a reversal, you can try on your own, unlimited tries. It is expensive, either way. And you aren't guarenteed to get pregnant after a tubal reversal (not that even without a tubal reversal you're guarenteed). I have a girl I worked with that got her tubes reversed 2 years ago and is still not pregnant.
Avatar f tn A tubal reversal or IVF would have to be done. I had a reversal in Jan & we are trying just finished first cycle of Clomid to help with regular ovulation. You should find a fertility doctor and discuss it all with him. He can tell you which option would be better for you depending on the tubal you had done. Hope this helps!!!
Avatar f tn My husband had a vasectomy almost five years ago and the 2 urologists we saw suggested IVF with ICSI rather than a reversal. The reversal can cost as much as the IVF procedure. We decided to try IVF with ICSI rather than the reversal, however, if I had the choice again, I would chose the reversal first. Good luck, let me know if you have specific questions since we recently went through it.
Avatar n tn After coming to the Lord and marrying my wonderful husband, we went to Mexico for a tubal reversal. Well, obviously from the numbers above, the reversal worked and we have three beautiful children together. Four of my kids were from c-sections. All to say it was a long road and about 1.5 years of severe pain after my last child before a diagnosis and the total hysterectomy(the pregnancies of course put my endo into remission and therefore no symptoms for several years).
1268251 tn?1299011770 I started this group... for any ladies that have had a TR/ Tubal Reversal / Tubal Reanastomosis. I had my tubes tied for 8 years, 2 months and 2 days.. i regretted it from the moment i had it done, and had two failures.. neither one survived.. im 1 month post op from my reversal, and currently TTC... is there anyone else out there ??
667409 tn?1309152183 Has anyone here had a tubal reversal? If so, where did you get it done? Were you happy with the doctor and feel confidant he/she did a good job? How much did it cost? I just had my tubes tied in July and want to get a reversal...just trying to get more information.
Avatar f tn I was wondering if anyone here had tubal ligation reversal surgery at 39/40+ and has had a successful pregnancy?
Avatar n tn i was just wondering how old u r and how long after reversal did u find out u were pregnant and who did yr reversal i had my reversal on the 20th april i had my 1st period on the 24th ovulated on the 24 cth and now counting down toi do preg test im feeling nauses but asuming it is stress and excitment im due for my next period on the 22 may hoping for the best im now 7 days b4 my due period and having a little cramping on right side
Avatar n tn I'm not sure about the cost of reversal, but there's also IVF...although it will probably cost about $10,000 and up, depending on the meds. Hopefully someone else on here can give you more info on reversal. Best of luck with everything!
Avatar n tn I had a vasectomy 6 years ago, and 4 months ago had a vasectomy reversal. The consultant was very hopeful after the operation, even though he could only join one of the tubes. I had a sperm analysis at 6 weeks and 10 weeks after my reversal operation, and both tests came back negative. My partner and I are very unhappy, and don't know what to do next.
Avatar f tn The only things you can do are pay for a reversal, or have IVF done. Depending on what was done, a reversal might not even be possible. The odds of you conceiving naturally are slim to none, because a ligation is meant to be permanent birth control.
13995282 tn?1432424867 I lost my youngest son about two years ago to sids and i really want another and cant afford a reversal. Is it possible to get pregnant without a reversal?
Avatar n tn You would need to get a vasectomy reversal. My husband and I have a baby girl after I had a tubal reversal. Good luck!
Avatar f tn I was in the same boat and you have two options...reversal or IVF. We did IVF bc I have no fertility issues and it has a higher % rate of pregnancy..ESP bc you're young...than the reversal. I believe it is quite a bit more expensive though. All in all it's around $17,000.00 for procedure & meds without INS. Our INS didn't pay a dime but we are pregnant w twins and know it was all worth it.
Avatar f tn Anything is possible, but not very probable. Look into tubal reversal if you truly want to get pg again. I had a reversal and have a baby now. Although I had a tubal where they cut and burned the tubes, with the clamps they will have to cut off the damaged part and reconnect them also. Google "tubal reversal" and you will find all the info you need. Check out Dr. Roberto Perez, that is where we went. Also Dr.
1459745 tn?1319856606 Hi, My husband had a reversal in July 2010. We are now ttc.We know his reversal was a success bc the semen analysis showed sperm. No luck yet though.
Avatar f tn tHANKS TO ALL THAT HAVE REPLIED TO MY QUESTION.YOU HAVE BEEN VERY HELPFUL!
Avatar m tn Please respond How are you after reversal we all need to know also we all need to know what DR did your Reversal thank you
Avatar n tn Highly unlikely.I would suggest a tubal reversal first if you are considering to get pregnant.
Avatar f tn See your doctor right away. You are at high risk for ectopic pregnancy. Best wishes!
Avatar m tn m curious if I should be concerned about the symptoms I have been having since the reversal, especially the rapid weight loss? Has anyone else had a reversal and if so, how did it go?
Avatar n tn My husband had a reversal July 2010. It was successful in terms of sperm are getting through but...no baby yet! Still TTC. I do know a lady that conceived about 6 months or so after her DH's reversal. Be prepared to pay though. Cost us $5000 Cdn. The other option I have heard of is sperm aspiration. Here is an explanation. http://opsahl.northwestreproductive.
