Avatar f tn Also, one of the nurses in this office had kidney failure. After her sessions, she has no trace of kidney disease or kidney failure. Colon cleansing does not disrupt the balance between bacteria and natural solutions in the bowel but jump starts it back up to working as it originally did as when you were a child, provided your system was normal as a child. Sounds to me like you are just making up fake excuses not to get this done. Try it, then tell me all this junk!
Avatar m tn Oh you poor thing! I do know how this feels. My husband died in January of 1999, and my dog only months later. It was very very hard indeed. Kidney Failure in such a young dog could have been caused by ingestion of some kind of toxin?..... acute illness or infection of some kind?....could be an inherited weakness?
Avatar f tn I hope you find it helpful somehow, and blessings for you and your dog - Blu Stage 3 kidney disease is one of the final stages of canine kidney disease, in which your dog will begin showing symptoms of kidney failure. Canine kidney disease occurs when, for whatever reason, your dog's kidneys are not doing their job of removing toxins from the blood efficiently. Often, by the time kidney disease reaches stage 3, kidney damage cannot be reversed.
Avatar m tn Hi. This sounds more like acute renal poisoning to me, but even if it is standard kidney failure there's still lots that can be done. Please join our User Group (Misfits4Me explains how above). Where do you live (country and region of the country)? What are you feeding your dog (please give specifics and full details)?

Some pet stores sell that now.

She takes zantac, vitamins, cranberry, denamarin and anti phosphorous medicine twice daily. She has lost considerable weight and lately has become disinterested in food. I am supplementing her kittle intake of food with nutrical. That's the bad news.

Avatar f tn Its cute, looks like he is winding up getting ready for take off! I think that dealing with this kidney failure stuff is just so overwhelming. Your mind is spinning all the time, worrying constantly. Like I said, I know it didn't come on over night, but once it got bad, the symptoms came on hard and fast. I was getting up everyday scared at what the deal would hold. Checking on my dear dog wondering how much worse he was. Waking up everyday and seeing him deteriorate.
Avatar m tn Renal anomalies could be responsible for decreased or deranged renal function and may lead to renal failure. One working kidney is enough for normal functions of the body. It would be difficult to comment if your other symptoms could be related. I would suggest discussing the situation and the suggested management plan in detail with your treating nephrologist. Hope this is helpful. Take care!
Avatar f tn My 6 year 10 month Russian Blue male cat was diagnosed 2 weeks ago with kidney failure. His only symptons were a bout of vomiting and lethargy. His blood work was quite elevated, BUN 83mg/dl, CREA 5.1mg/dl, PHOS 8.8mg/dl. He has been given fluids twice and we have been giving him Azodyl capsules twice a day. Also sprinkling Epikatin on his food twice a day. We have been trying to transition him to renal diet with not a lot of success.
3117443 tn?1341948135 I just had to let my old friend of 14 years go because of kidney failure. He was a typical Jack Russel Terrier and anyone who met him would not believe he was as old as he was. He still acted like the puppy I brought home so many years before. That was until the disease started taking over. I noticed he had not been eating and was quickly losing weight. Blood work was done and the diagnosis made.

541196 tn?1293552936 Hi there, I am hoping someone can help me with tying some symptoms and tests together so I can talk to my dr. who is already overwhelmed by me. I have been having reoccuring kidney/flank pain that last a week or more. Dr. is never sure if it's a kidney infection or kidney stone or something else. Urine test shows presence of blood AND protein. Urine is cloudy off and on when pain is present and often when pain is not present as well. I am 31 years old. Female.

Avatar f tn Also as he has heart failure and the point of his meds is to get rid of fluid but if he has kidney failure he needs lots of fluid ie the vets flushing his kidneys, can this be done on him with his heart problem? I have read a few things about kidney failure saying give low protein but others say give high quality protein so whats best please? Also have read give low phosphorus and give TUMS to him but is this ok? how do i know how much to give a tiny yorkie?
Avatar f tn 1.Hills K/D Canine prescription diet or Royal Canin Renal Failure diets (or other prescription failure diet) 2. Epakitin, Phos-Lo or other phosphate binder if there is high phosphorus levels in the blood. 3. Azodyl which helps relieve the body of excess kidney enzyme blood levels via the digestive tract. 4. Additional probiotics to help maximize GI function. 5. Sub Cutaneous fluid therapy to be administered at home 6.
