Avatar n tn I have not had a colonoscopy. I am guessing this would be my next step? I have had back pain that feels like a kidney infection for a year. I had been tested for it and even kidney stones and was neg. I am so relieved that this may be the answer that I have been searching for, for 2 yrs. I am also frustrated that it wasn't found sooner. I am 42, good weight and eat healthy so I guess that I dont fit the profile. I dont know.
Avatar m tn m wondering if these pains are really related to my kidney or if I should have a colonoscopy to rule out polyps. I believe my grandfather on my dad's side died of colon cancer. I don't really think this is my imagination, but other people seem to do so because of my mental illness. I also have been known to overdose a lot on benedryl. Could benedryl mess up my kidneys like this?
Avatar m tn Medullary Sponge Kidney Disease. I have about 16 stones from 1-2 cm in my right kidney. Have never passed any stones. I have had HIDA Scan, Ultrasound, enoscopy, colonoscopy, CT scans with and without contrast and lots of labs. I am in so much pain daily with right quad pain in front and the pain radiates to the right flank. Sometimes down my right leg and groin area. Doctors have given up and just prescribe me Delodid and viccodin. I work for a doctor and i cant function on those medications.
Avatar f tn Increase your risk of dehydration, Lead to bowel perforations, Increase the risk of infection, Cause a rise in your electrolytes, which can be dangerous if you have kidney disease or heart disease. The only time to do it is for a colonoscopy.

Avatar n tn Hello, The various possibilities which present with such pain in the lower left abdomen are diverticulitis, Crohn’s disease, bowel obstruction, ovarian cysts and pelvic inflammatory disease, irritable bowel syndrome , kidney obstruction or pyelonephritis, psoas abscess and volvolus (twisting of the sigmoid part of the large bowel on itself). In your case,it can be due to worsening of IBS.Are you taking any medication for it?
4736912 tn?1358553216 Can some one tell me the symptoms of gallbladder disease? Also my right kidney is smaller than my left kidney and the radiologist cannot get a good picture of my pancreas. What does this mean? I have been sick off and on for 14 months. Vomiting, chronic diarrhea (that never goes away), nausea, pain that is under my right rib cage that radiates down into my lower right side and then up under my right breast. The pain then radiated around my right side into my back.
Avatar f tn I wonder if anybody else has experienced diarrhea with kidney stones? I have had upwards of 40 kidney stones in the past four years but somehow still have no answers as to why my body is producing these or how to relieve them. And i never fail to turn up new symptoms or troubles. I have been having dark urine and a lot of kidney pain lately and I'm sure I have another stone working its way out of my kidney...

Avatar n tn GP ordered an ultrasound to lok at gallbladder, and sent me to a surgeon, who in turn said the right kidney was dilated and that was a bigger concern. He ordered an IVP and CT scan and am still waiting for the results now a week later. Any thoughts as to what would cause the dilation? I have almost constant twisting pain deep in the lower right quadrant and back pain with movement (not really flank pain), and feel very full after eating (likely the gallbladder).
Avatar f tn Hi, for a few months now I have had tummy pains and upset where I have had to run to the toilet to literally empty my bowel. Went and had a colonoscopy with biopsy - nothing showed up> was told I had IBS. Can Crohns be misdiagnosed after 1 colonoscopy? My father has Crohns and apparantly it can be passed on. I also have severe fatigue, back pain, nausea and pains all over my pelvis. Feel really low with it. Then a few days later I can be ok. Does this sound like Crohns?
Avatar f tn Hello, The various possibilities which present with such pain in the right abdomen are appendicitis, Crohn’s disease, bowel obstruction, ovarian cysts and pelvic inflammatory disease, irritable bowel syndrome, kidney obstruction or pyelonephritis or gall bladder disease causing referred pain. Investigations like ultrasound abdomen, CT abdomen and colonoscopy are required to confirm a diagnosis. My advice is to consult a gastroenterologist and discuss these possibilities with him.
Avatar f tn It sounds like he needs a colonoscopy. Trying to figure out what is most common is hard to do and isn't that helpful. A colonoscopy tests for crohn's, celiac, IBD, and a ton of other stuff. What is his height (to see if his weight is healthy)? In general, I would say that if he isn't losing weight, then that symptom is not worrysome.
Avatar m tn The dizzyness /brain fog is probably an electrolyte imbalance. I would think the colonoscopy would have found something. Did you have the colonoscopy during this problem on in the past? Have you tried a high fiber diet instead of no gluten? Lots of fruits and veggies with little meat (such as a vegetarian or vegan diet). It will generally help you with the contipation and use metamucil to try to equalized the fiber and water balance. Keep drinking lots of water too.
Avatar m tn i recently had a post and was suggested a colonoscopy and egd i had many symptoms like dizzyness losing weight tired ext. also had inner hemorrhoid and fisure surgery, and inner hemorrhoids came back in less than a month. so i had them today and egd showed bad gerd which had caused corrsion and holes and called it perful something.and colonoscopy showed inner hemorrhoids.and yellow stains?but said it was ok.
Avatar m tn Tricky to diagnose without having a colonoscopy though. In your case, imaging for sure, usually ultrasound ... but a colonoscopy might shed some light on things as well.
Avatar m tn I don't know if I have cancer. I had a colonoscopy performed recently and the results came back negative - no colon cancer. However, I feel that there is something wrong with my body. I have had weight loss. The thing is I can eat. I have an appetite. I had other tests performed.
Avatar n tn Hello, The symptoms are definitely suggestive of kidney disease. You should get an ultrasound kidneys and kidney function tests done to confirm the diagnosis. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar n tn I would encourage both of you to talk with his endocrinologist about looking into possible changes that can bring his a1c levels well down below 7. That truly is his best protection not only against kidney disease, but against other complications. If sugar levels are maintained at near normal levels, damage cannot happen.
Avatar f tn I have a 14 year old cocker spaniel who was recently diagnosed with kidney disease. She originally got sick a few weeks ago with pacreatitis, and when she recovered her lab work showed the kidney problems. We have been giving her fluids every other night as well as the epakitin powder with her food. Her blood report was better this last time. However she seems pretty good, has a good appetite ect and I'm wondering if there is anything else that could be causing this disease?
Avatar m tn i have kidney disease my creantine 2.12 my gfr 33.5 my normal is 1.
