Avatar f tn I used to tell my mother that if I ever die let doctors check my left side. Anyway, jokes aside. I had colonoscopy, barium X-rays, ultra sound test for gallbladder, kidney, and pancrease, and everything came out OK. And I had these symptoms for years. Later I started to learn about IBS. And my symptoms sounded like IBS. go to www.drdahlman.com website, and download a free report on IBS. You can also try Dr. Dahlman's treatment if you want.
Avatar m tn After reading the many colonoscopy horror stories and problems with sedation associated with it; I was less than anxious to get a colonoscopy. But the symptoms persisted and I met with several GI docs; they did not listen to any of my questions, ubt insisted that I get a colonoscopy immediately. When I told them that I didn't want sedation, they said that was impossible and basically told me to get lost.

Avatar m tn This elderly lady went to the doctor for a checkup. Everything checked out fine. The old lady pulled the doctor to the side and said, "Doctor, I haven't had sex for years now, and I was wondering how I can increase my husband's sex drive." The doctor smiled and said, "Have you tried to give him Viagra?" The lady frowned. "Doctor, I can't even get him to take aspirin when he has a headache," she claimed.
Avatar f tn I know it's good to have a sense of humor ...but I'm honestly sick of the pregnancy jokes already! Maybe it's because I work around a lot of employees plus I work with the public so it's pretty much constant but I'm so annoyed already and I'm only 27 weeks !!
Avatar f tn Hi - rectal bleeding is never normal and should always be investigated as CalGal rightly suggests. Causes can be minor - but they can be more sinister especially for people aged 40+. A colonoscopy is the most comprehensive test and should provide maximum reassurance. If you are 40+ and unless your doctor can 100% reassure you that the cause is minor, I suggest that you insist on a colonoscopy.
Avatar f tn At work people notice, hold their breath and make jokes and say things. Which is understandable because I myself find it gross. It's not like their is a sound but the smell, worst is I don't smell anything so just when my stomache bubbles I have to pray it does not. I already have social anxiety but with this Condition I really don't want to be around people and they don't want me around them. I don't know what to do anymore.
480331 tn?1310403529 A lady from a foreign country who could not understand much English wasn't feeling well and went to see her doctor. After examining her he said, "You are pregnant. Please understand that you have an insufficient passage and if you have a baby it will be a miracle." The lady rushed home crying and told her husband, "The doctor says I'm pregnant and I have a fish in the passage and if I have a baby it will be a mackerel!
Avatar f tn Does anyone else get offended by jokes that people always make about STDs, particularly herpes? Since I just got diagnosed with herpes I find them very offensive now. My question is should I be offended? And why do people find herpes so funny?

1949068 tn?1449628519 For instance, I had my first colonoscopy done at age 16. I would recommend talking to your doctor/a gastroenterologist to decide if you should get a colonoscopy. They will most likely automatically check for polyps and cancer during the colonoscopy.
Avatar f tn Sure, you can get a colonoscopy whether or not you are a virgin. They aren't doing anything to your vagina, it's your anus that is the business end with a colonoscopy. I don't know how much they cost, but if it is a lot, I'd just try to get some insurance instead. The only thing is, they might not book you for one if you're only 21, since colon cancer is not a young person's disease, unless you have a recommendation from a doctor.
627211 tn?1260954745 I went to the gastro dr after this and i have to say im a little disappointed. He tried to make jokes, and make light of everything when i was worried that it could come back. It seems the biggest possibility i seem to have right now the dr thinks is IBS that is triggered by my emotions and stress, which sets my stomach off really really fast. This doesnt help though at all .... how do i deal with that? Ive never had this before and ive never been affected this much by it either.
Avatar n tn My son is scheduled for his 3rd colonoscopy and he is only 7. If you feel they need a colonoscopy (symptoms) I strongly suggest a second opinion. My son is being monitored for Gardner Syndrom/ FAP. In certain situations a colonoscopy is warranted, because in some situations a diagnosis may be too late in coming. Granted not knowing is alot less stressful in certain situations, but when you weigh the possible outcomes if we were not told, I would rather deal with the stress now.
Avatar f tn Abdominal cramps and watery discharge may indicate a Post surgical complication of Colonoscopy. They actually are very common in many compromised patients even though adequate care has been taken. They include mild abdominal pain with cramps, watery diarrhea,Post surgical inflammation. These are very minor complications.Very severe major complications can be Bowel explosion, obstruction, allergy, dehydration or even stroke sometimes.
Avatar n tn why do I have to come back for a second colonoscopy?
Avatar f tn I have just had a colonoscopy does anyone know what it means if you have rectal erythema ?
Avatar n tn If so I would call the doctor that performed the colonoscopy and tell him or his nurse your symptoms. Hope it turns out great.
Avatar n tn I am 21 years old and have noticed in the past year that everyonce in a while i have blood on my tissue when i wipe after going #2. Sometimes its a little and sometimes it's a lot. Its not always there either. Sometimes when i go it hurts like contractions for having a baby until i'm able to relieve myself. It's often gaseous and in bits and pieces, usually when it happens i just take it VERY easy on what I eat and drink, but i don't know exactly what is causing this.
568565 tn?1216785185 I am 37 yrs old. No history of colon cancer in the fam... However, recently one of my employee's husband went on a routine check up. They said since he is 47 he should have a colonoscopy... When he was done with that, he is now doing radiation and chemo... He has full blown cancer all over his pelvis... My gp advised with no history in my family, I am good to wait until I am 50 but if I did have a history of it, she'd recommend that I did it when I was 40...
