My dog (havanese) is one year old ,about 4 months ago he got diarrhea, real bad everywhere, down to watery stool and mucus some blood, I tried changing food, rice, fasting etc but in the end after 10 days took him to the Vet and he was treated with a drip (+ buscopan)+ fasting, treatment didnt work.
Many vet visits + drips + buscopan injections etc. He then went on a general anti biotic (10 days) and got well, sick again 3 days after stopping the antibiotic.

Have you had any diagnostic imaging done or a colonoscopy to have a look? A colonoscopy is the gold standard for finding physical issues with the colon as far as I know.
Did blood work, going for ultrasound and endoscopy, and if all good, colonoscopy. He believes IBS with constipation but wants to be thorough. Blood work came back good but I never fasted so not sure if that tweaked any numbers of course? Or how much it can tweak these results?

I too have rectal bleeding and first did an occult blood test (positive times three) before agreeing to the colonoscopy. A colonoscopy, if you are cleaned out properly (which I learned I wasn't, so now they ordered a barium enema) is good for the doctor looking for polyps and more and he/she can actually go ahead and remove polyp(s) if found for biopsy. I became convinced to do the colonoscopy, even though it had not been ten years from the last one (I'm in my 30s).
I have had normal CCK 10 months ago, negative gastroparesis, an unremarkable colonoscopy about 15 months ago, normal endoscopy 11 months ago, Normal head MRI, NCV/EMG, ANA, Sed rate, normal glucose fasting and tolerance, negative lyme, thyroid normal, B12 normal, etc... I had low B1 and have been getting shots but this does not help. The numbness/weakness is worsened at times, like something is squeezing my insides and causing a constriction of circulation.
I've had increasingly mounting pain and discomfort after eating anything. Severe bloating that makes me look pregnant, I'm tired and irritable after a meal, no matter how small. No traces of any bacteria .They also performed Colonoscopy,which was also normal.Took some stool sample and tissue sample from the colon.Even those results came normal.But my problem still stays the same.Every day in the morning I have either loose or watery stool.Now-a-days I pass a lot of gas. My belchings came back but my doctor told those might be from stress.He also did some blood work for Celiac disease.Even that was normal.

They should have given u ur appt time 12 hrs before u start fasting usually they do it early in the morning i started fasting at 12 midnight and had my app at 8:15 am and thats what i thought i wasn't ganna be able to go that long without eating but the sugar drink they give u helps have something in ur stomach i guess
How can I change the normal range for my fasting number, which is different from the after meal range?
Ya I wouldnt recommend it. I mean the baby is going to take from your body what it needs but its not going to get the proper nutrients that it needs. How long are you talking about fasting for though??? If its a day maybe that would be ok but if it were a week I dont think its healthy for you or baby.... Just an opinion though. I know it may be something your culture does and believes in doing but I wouldnt suggest it.
