Avatar n tn HI, As your polyps have been benign previously, you can hope for the best. But a follow up in the form of colonoscopy and guided biopsy is necessary because of family history of cancer. Hence do not stress, just keep your fingers crossed and hope for the best. Take care and good luck.
Avatar f tn s doing another colonoscopy or is it actually an endoscopic ultrasound? If the first colonoscopy was complete there is nothing more to see. The only reason that I would repeat a colonoscopy would be if the colon had not been completely cleared of other potential lesions. This can happen if the prep was not good.
Avatar f tn It was a colon biopsy or colonoscopy? Here's an article on reading a colonoscopy. https://www.health.harvard.
Avatar n tn My biopsy results from a colonoscopy are back : AIN1, mild dysplasia in distal rectum extending biopsy margin. I was referred to a surgeon,-what does this mean? Do I have to be concerned?

Avatar m tn Yes, CT colonoscopy can detect crohns related abnormalities though the test may have a few disadvantages over conventional colonoscopy such as visualisation not being as clear or inability to take biopsy samples. On the other hand, the procedure is much more comfortable than conventional colonoscopy at the patients end.
Avatar f tn I was told that they found a lump on my throat and they had to remove it and send it to biopsy. But i been having chest pain since yesterday and i don't know if that's normal.
Avatar f tn You are basically getting a CT with your bowel distended and clear so the radiologist can look for suspicious polyps. The one downside is that if there is a polyp you will still need a colonoscopy to biopsy it.
Avatar m tn I had a colonoscopy last week, which came back clear, however on my report it shows that 40 biopsies were taken from the rectum to the terminal ileum. I was just wondering why so many biopsies were taken if everything was clear in the colonoscopy?
Avatar m tn Hi everyone, My name is Charles and I find it bizarre that I only started to get traces of blood in my stool only AFTER my colonoscopy, and I still get the traces even after several months! Here is my situation: I was suffering from major constipation and IBD for an entire year! And only after over ONE YEAR LATER, I underwent a colonoscopy test for further investigation.
Avatar f tn t due to an umbilical hernia surgery I just had a colonoscopy yesterday. My pain is just left of the umbical area. This pain is worsened by activities like standing in one place for too long or sitting on a hard surface. I cannot participate in any physical sport that actively uses the core and the pain is everyday. Does not seem to be related to my diet at all. I do get "muddy" brown stools about 2-3x /day - twice a week.
Avatar f tn Hi. I am wondering does crohns always show on a biopsy by colonoscopy? I have been very ill with all the symptoms and colitis was seen by ct scan and the docs say they think its crohns, just had a colonoscopy and I guess UC didn't show. I have been going through it since the end of December and its really hard. If it doesn't always show by biopsy any suggestions on what my GI may do next?
Avatar n tn I had a colonoscopy and endoscopy on Monday and found out that the doctor suspect Barretts disease. I was extremely extremely extremely stressed out about it but luckily the biopsy is negative today. I was completely knocked out during the procedure. Now I can't have an erection at all. My questions is can colonoscopy cause total erectile dysfunction. I had sex with my girlfriend last Saturday, two days before the colonoscopy. Everything was fine.

1405105 tn?1281104430 I had a colonoscopy a few days ago, and I have had two bowel movements after so far. The thing is my bowel movements are flat on oneside, and normal looking on the other, and I have a crampiness type feeling. My stools are fairly soft. He found two polyps, but removed them, said he did not believe it was cancer. He did biopsy them, and Im waiting for the results... they were in the asending colon. I also have diverticulosis in the sigmoid colon.
1322367 tn?1274808624 Most of the time if there is a colonoscopy or endoscopy done due to other issues besides normal/routine, they will take biopsies to make sure there is no infections or anything else going on that could need treatment. Since they are already in there, they want to get as much as they can, so they dont have to put you under and do it again.
Avatar f tn I askes him if he was going to do a biopsy too and he told me that only is he sees something serious. Im kinda freaked out because i heard that its not safe in pregnancy . I dont want anything interfering with the baby. Have any of you ladies had this while pregnant? I dont go back for 4 weeks. By then i will be 16 weeks. Im really nervous.
Avatar m tn Hi, newly diagonosed with Hep C. Probably had it for 33 years. First visit to a GI where he spent less than 15 minutes with me. Did not have my genotype test back. Sent me for an adbominal sonogram and is requiring a colonoscopy before he will schedule a liver biospy! Why in the world would a colonoscopy be a requirement for a liver biopsy. Is that the "normal" procedure? I understand the sonogram, that makes sense.
