colon

Avatar n tn The part about the redundant colon (basically, an extra length of colon) explains the constipation, and the spastic colon points to IBS...weird they can tell during the procedure. I've also been keeping a bowel journal, and found that certain foods were linked to it (beef, milk, corn, broccoli, soy).
Avatar f tn SPASTIC COLON, INTESTINAL PAIN, PRESSURE ALL THE TIME. THE URGE TO GO BM AND NOTHING COMES OUT EXCEPT CLEAR FLUID. I WAS TOLD I HAVE IBS. Avatar f tn Hi I'm 21 and have polyasytic ovaries and when I'm on my period and I have a BM or when I'm just gassy it hurts extremely bad in my colon like a knife is being twisted around. My endometrium increases to 8mm thick when I'm menstrating. Also it is very difficult to put a tampon in I have to push under and around a wall. If u have any information it would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar m tn I'm having pain down the right side of my body in what seems like the whole of the ascending colon. It's hard to explain, there's also a pulse like pain that starts around my hip bone or the end of the ascending colon that travels up the ascending colon. I'm very uncomfortable after a meal and I can feel a little relief after I been to the toilet.
Avatar n tn I had a pain to my right side under the ribs over two years. I did all tests, US, x-rays,gold bladder, etc. to find why I have a pain every day. I couldn't slep on my left side due to pain. I couldn't sit longer....Every day pain, pain, pain My pain come in after car accident where I was sitting as a passenger and the crush was from my R side. All doctor's said because of your accident..... Finally 3 years after car accident I decided do colonoscopy.
Avatar n tn Does these tests at least rule out advanced colon cancer? Would these tests have shown colon cancer or at least something to some extent to warrant further testing? 8. does the symptoms point to colon cancer? With the blood now gone. 9. I feel like there is something just inside my rectum, is that a sign of colon cancer or possibly a internal hemmorroids? 10. How common is colon cancer/rectal cancer in someone my age without the family history?
Avatar n tn You have had a coloscopy that is recent and your findings at that time were not such to raise the suspicions of colon cancer then or now with your doctor. Colon cancer is slow growing and that is why screenings are important because it allows it to be caught in treatable stages. The family history you have has already been taken into consideration. I would think a question for the doctor would be if the insurance company was not an issue, would they think you needed a colonoscopy right now?
Avatar n tn there could be loads of different reasons for the above and i am sure all treatable but i would think if u have not been a trip to your doc would be in order.
Avatar f tn Digested and undigested food that remains in your intestines, primarily, your large intestines for two weeks can be somewhat toxic to your intestinal lining. Companies that advertise colon washes do not inform you that your necessary electrolytes that regulates your heart rhythms can be washed away from chemical colon washes. The greater damage might be that your bowels are less hydrated on a daily basis, and the bowels can solidify and become hard to expell.
Avatar n tn When it cures me, I may request your help in spreading the word to others on this site with colon problems. After all, who wouldn't want to share a cure? :) Thanks for all the advice and help, I'll let you know how the detox program works!
Avatar n tn i am a 33 year old female who was told by a gi dr that i have an ulcer in my colon and cysts on my ovaries. i have been experiencing alot of gas bith burping and fating. my bowel movements are irregular i dont have blood in my stool. i have been experiencing nausea after eating certain foods. Is there some foods i should avoid eating like fried foods or hamburger? why do i have gas all the time?
Avatar f tn Is there any history of GI issues of any sort in your family? Any history of celiac disease? Babies can be constipated from food intoleranc issues (via the mom). And the problem with some of the food intolerance issues is you could add a fair amount of prune juice, etc. and you wouldn't get a lot of 'movement.' Tatmomof5, a suggestion......post on the WebMD IBS board to TrudyGERD.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am a 33yr old female. I have been having bowel problems for the past few years. In the past year I have been seeing mucus, blood and blood clots (large ones) in my feces. About 4 months ago I had an extensive colonoscopy, which revealed I have IBS-C and a 'spastic colon'? Thankfully, there were no polyps or other masses. I changed my diet cutting out gluten which was a major irritate for me. However, it hasnt helped with my bowel movements.
788117 tn?1304011947 Have you considered having weekly total calories eaten and expended like WebMD? They also allow for tracking the calories expended doing specific daily activities like sleeping, desk work, shopping, etc. That way you can account for all the calories you burn in one day (not just those related to exercise) and compare them to all the calories you consume. I like their diet tracker very much but I like that Med Help has trackers for my migraines, my mood, etc.
Avatar f tn I take 2 full strength aspirin daily for 5 1/2 years to help prevent recurrence of colon cancer and prevent new polyps in the colon. I have regular blood tests (huge list of tests all normal) and my CBC, Platelet Count and MV Platelet counts were well within normal ranges. I take no other medicine other than Centrum Vitamins, D3 and Calcium.
Avatar f tn This is thought to be from bile salts making it to the colon rather than being re-absorbed appropriately. The fact that a portion of the terminal ileum is also resected is important as this piece of small intestine is crucial for the absorption of bile salts. Bile salt binders such as cholestyramine are usually very effective for treating this. By taking hese edications, the residual bile salts stick to the resin rather than irritating the colon.
Avatar f tn diarrhea is also clear when your colon is empty. You really have to watch what you eat when you have ibs and anxiety. My suggestion is to keep a food diary of everything you eat so you can figure out what triggers the ibs, and then avoid it.
1685368 tn?1305341424 You could be having colitis or inflammation of the colon causing spasmodic intermittent pain. This could be flatulence or bowel gas. It could be inflammation of the liver or gall bladder namely hepatitis or cholecystitis, stones in the gall bladder, etc. consult a physician first with your presenting complaints who would examine you in detail and diagnosis can be made based on other investigations. Take care.
Avatar n tn In the following days when I was back at home I found myself having to deal with large amounts of mucus continually being discharged from my rectum. I am aware that with the large colon still intact the colon naturally produces a small amount of mucus, just as it did for the first 18 months after I was originally given the illeostomy. However this time the mucus levels were un-manageable, over ten times more in volume.
Avatar n tn Well I guess like spasms or something like that
Avatar n tn Has he had a recent colonoscopy?
Avatar n tn People with stomach problems have been found to have headache problems many times, also. That feeling in your colon...you describe it as ''loose''....that could be IBS also. Or spastic colon. With spastic colon, headaches are common. You could have lots of food allergies. Gastroenterologist with a modern approach knows about all of these things, some are more informed about the allergies than others.
