Avatar m tn I would ask your doc about prescribing some anti-spasm medications which should calm down the pain your colon is producing. The water leaking could be due to the uncontrolled spasms/pain your colon is producing. Also, things like peppermint tea has been known to be a natural antispasm remedy. Drinking a few of these a day can help out.
Avatar n tn I have an issue that can't seem to be diagnosed. I get a spasm in between my ribcage in the front (sternum?) that makes me sweat, sometimes throw up, and the pain is awful. It comes like a wave and then passes after about 5 -10 minutes. It mostly comes when my stomach is empty and my IBS has my bowels blocked up. The doctor has taken out my gallbladder to try to remedy this and to remedy the extreme burping that I get frequently. It didn't work for either. Any ideas?
1440074 tn?1283996071 The pain is pretty constant with spasms very often, and when I have a spasm the pain is so intense that it causes my entire body to tremble. I would describe the pain as almost like a bite near my butthole. Nothing I have tried has given me any relief. I have googled my symptoms and the only thing I have found that sounds somewhat simliar is an anal fissure, chron's, or colon cancer.
Avatar m tn I have been diagnosed with Colon spasms. My episode started with pain in the lower-left side of the back and the lovwer-left front side below my belt, then I noticed blood in my stools. My Doctor diagnosed me with diverticulosis. I had a colonoscopy and had a few polyps (no Cancer - Thank God!!!). However, I have been haunted by this for over 2 years now and am going in for another Colonoscopy. My Doctor claims I have Colon Spasms, but I also get feverish a lot and get the chills often.
Avatar m tn For the past couple of years he has been suffering with rectal spasms, pain/soreness and pressure after he has a bowel movement and this lasts for hours almost into days. He has tried cyst baths, suppositories and Preparation H creams...nothing seems to work. The doctors we've seen don't help any because they haven't given us anything that relieves it. I would greatly appreciate any feedback or help that could relieve him from this.
Avatar f tn re describing happen to me quite a bit, since this is where the descending colon is located. People with IBS get this pain often. And, IBS is often irritated by food sensitivities and allergies. Also, when I am arround the smell of coffee, like the coffee houses or the coffee aisle in a grocery store, I will often start sneezing. I don't drink coffee, but I used to, until I figured out that it bothers my colon as well as my sinuses.
Avatar m tn I am having an adverse reaction to a colonoscopy (or prep) I had in early December. I am having painful rectal and colon spasms that are being described as an impartial prolapse. I have never had straining or pressure like this until the prep, which turned me inside out. Has anyone had this experience? The doctor wants to run a pelvic MRI on me and have me see a physical therapist. I will do anything to make this stop, it hurts, I'm sore and it's scary. Many thanks...
Avatar m tn Anything that gets the colon working can cause colon pains, and cramping. When the colon is active is when most people with IBS find issues with pain, cramping, urgency, etc. Thats why early mornings are troublesome for IBS sufferers. The colon wakes up when you do and starts to go to work. When you do a cleanse like that, you are having your colon work doubletime, therefore it could cause it to start creating pain, cramps or spasms.
Avatar f tn I have pain in my butt during vaginal sex and when I open my vagina (just taking my hands to open it) I feel the same pain in my butt. There are no bumps on my butt and I really wish I knew what was causing this. I had an extremely heavy cycle this month which just ended. It was the heaviest cycle I've had in years. What could be causing this? I last had my yearly exam a year ago and there was no problems.
1408089 tn?1281372991 I've read that IBS can cause pain after eating, probably a spasm in your colon. For some people it can get so severe, people are afraid to eat. You may also want to determin if it is caused by soecific foods. Maybe you have a food allergy or sensitivity. Wheat and dairy are likely suspects.
219373 tn?1274921434 i have been having problems swallowing and also abdominal pain...my doc thinks i might be having colon spasms as well as esophageal spasms which would account for my symptoms but the meds i was given are not helping. i have not been diagnosed with MS as of yet but was wondering if anyone has experience with this or knows if MS can cause it.
Avatar f tn I went in for an ultrasound thinking I had a right sided ovarian cyst. I'm 47 had a hysterectomy in 2004. My rt ovary is all I have left. I have been having pain on and off for 2 months( low back pain and low pelvic pain) I have lost about 35 pounds but I've been having a lot of stress, do to my 13 year being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and seizure disorder. But I have been eating a lot better and staying away from junk food so I was thinking the weight loss was do to that .
709686 tn?1277432159 ve been on Norco for several years and recently noticed that I have developed some king of twinge/pain in a very strange area. I've read on several web sites that opiates can cause a person's colon to spasm. Has anyone here developed a pain/twinge in the rectum area?
Avatar m tn I am 24 years old. About 1 week ago I noticed what seemed to be gas pain in my mid back. I was also mildly constipated. A few days of meal replacement shakes, eating healthier, and my bowel movements started to move again, although it seemed to be softer stool. The pain in my back has dissipated, but I seem to be having little spasm type pains all over my abdomen and chest. I think it could be from straining. My stomach is still bothering me somewhat and I get the occasional gas pain.
Avatar n tn After doing a colon cleanse I developed back pain it's more like a frying feeling right where the sigmoid colon is located. If I don't take a cleanse pill I get constipated now and when I use the pill I get this feeling of frying in my back. Now I feel like my insides ovaries and uterus is going to fall out. I have a history of ovarian cyst the simple cyst I get them all the time the bust and cause this frying feeling to but in lower stomach.
Avatar m tn s angina, or coronary artery spasm, which is chest pain due to severe coronary artery spasm. It is the rarest type of angina and can occur in people without coronary heart disease. Take Care. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar n tn now sometimes a lot of pain can be referred pain and so the pain u actually had in the right appeared on the left sounds confusing but it can be quite dificult to locate pain in the abdomen check with your doc
Avatar f tn So have bowel spasms been ruled out? Any anti-spasm meds tried? When the pain hits, do her bowel habit change - or is there any change in bowel habits? Has she been on any antibiotics in the last year? Midline spasm can feel like someone put a huge clamp on the sigmoid area squeezed - makes you want to press on it, curl up and feel like dying. Any bloating or gas? Aches and pains? Where? Anything specific? Tingling/numbness, or?
Avatar n tn A fissure can cause you pain or it could be a rectal spasm. I had both and the pain persisted for almost a year. The spasms would knock me down for the count but happened only a few times a week. Doc perscribed vallium which seemed to do the trick. Warm baths helped also.
Avatar m tn Everything changed for me after I had my gallbladder removed, specifically a lot more pain with bowel movements. Now for the last couple month I am having colon spasm daily that are horrifying. I am thinking of adding Konsyl to my diet (gradually). Has anyone tried this and did it help? Thanks!
Avatar m tn For me, stress seems to bring it on and it seems to be more a spasm of my diaphragm than my colon. I feel like I have a big rope tied around my middle just below where the bottom of my bra would run. The tightness starts in my back area under my ribs and then when it gets really bad the pain travels around front, it becomes hard to breath with a lot of pain in my chest. Makes me think I am having a heart attack. Then the more frightened I get from pain, the worse it gets.
Avatar m tn You probably mean that your gastroenterologist thinks the rectal bleeding is related to diverticulosis (which means the presence of the pockets or diverticula). Abdominal pain with eating is consistent with intestinal spasm, although this could occur with other conditions. I cannot tell if you have had a colonoscopy; if you have not then you should discuss this with your healthcare provider.

262802 tn?1303944876 I had my GB removed on 5/13/11. For the first week, I had the pain from the surgery itself. The 2nd week I had a few times of very mild ache and I really felt great. In the past few days, the pain that I felt before surgery is back! I feel like a fool for doing the surgery if it had nothing to do with the GB! The difference this time, is that it is also in my back and up my shoulder blade on the right. I have had CT scan, chest xray, Songram and the HIDA scan prior the surgery.
Avatar m tn The muscle goes into spasm and tears it more and more so it never heals. You need to go see a colon rectal doctor. He can give you a few creams that may work if not there is a quick surgery that can be done to fix things. Just go in!
Avatar n tn the pain sounds like a "spastic colon" type of pain. The colon responds to the alcohol, among other things, like stress, medications by having spasms. Usually not too serious, just terribly painful. It hurts from the front to the back. Try to cut out the alcohol to see if that is the contributing factor. hope you feel better. You might want to ask your dr.
