936335 tn?1246412231 I was in so much pain, I took pain medicine, and I was mostly in the bed crying! It did not ever let up until the next day! Boy, I was glad that day was over. I just can't imagine IBS being that painful, because I thought if I had to live in that kind of pain they can just go ahead and shoot me! I haven't heard of the SIBO ir IBS-D, so I will look into that, and thanks so much for responding!
Avatar m tn Can colon spasms also create hip pain? It definitely causes back & abdominal pain.
Avatar f tn t aware that laying on their right side can cause gas to build up in your colon and form a gas bubble. The way the colon is shaped and with the gas rising upward, when laying on the right side it gets trapped in the ascending and transverse sections of the colon and is not as easily expelled as it is when laying on the left side. I recommend trying some OTC treatments like beano, gas X, prilosec, prevacid, Mylanta, mylox etc. for a few days.
Avatar m tn I have had this pain for over 6 months. The only relief I get is from taking laxatives and completely emptying myself out. Whenever there is anything in the area the ruq bend of my colon (hepatic flexure) I suffer from horrible pain. It is so bad it affects my mental state. The only relief I get is when I press on it, digging deep under my rib, the relief lasts about 10 seconds. I can hear the liquid squishing, and sometimes the pain even radiates down my ascending colon.
Avatar m tn No he is treating me for the tortuous colon. He hasn't diagnosed with IBS, which is what I thought I had. There isn't a generic for the medication but he has prescribed me something else that my insurance will cover. I will start it today and see how it goes.
Avatar m tn I was also advised to use Nupercainal cream for the fissure pain which works pretty good. It all takes the edge off and it has been 6 weeks for me.
Avatar m tn I'm having pain down the right side of my body in what seems like the whole of the ascending colon. It's hard to explain, there's also a pulse like pain that starts around my hip bone or the end of the ascending colon that travels up the ascending colon. I'm very uncomfortable after a meal and I can feel a little relief after I been to the toilet.
1440074 tn?1283996071 starting on Sunday, I have been having very severe anal spasms along with a ton of pain, and some itching. It is very hard to sleep at night due to the pain. I have not been constipated, so I don't think it would be hemmorroids. It does not hurt to go to the bathroom either. The pain is pretty constant with spasms very often, and when I have a spasm the pain is so intense that it causes my entire body to tremble. I would describe the pain as almost like a bite near my butthole.
Avatar n tn After doing a colon cleanse I developed back pain it's more like a frying feeling right where the sigmoid colon is located. If I don't take a cleanse pill I get constipated now and when I use the pill I get this feeling of frying in my back. Now I feel like my insides ovaries and uterus is going to fall out. I have a history of ovarian cyst the simple cyst I get them all the time the bust and cause this frying feeling to but in lower stomach.
433485 tn?1321813390 Hi - four years ago I underwent a total colectomy for torrential diverticular bleeding. For about five days after the operation I was on edpiural pain relief. This worked well. Thereafter the only real source of the pain was from the wound (10-11 inches) itself when I sat up in bed or stumbled out of bed. Also it was quite painful while coughing. However, although the wound was sensitive for a few weeks afterwards there was no residual pain.
Avatar m tn had all the heart stuff done, xrays of the stomach and colon.. bloodwork.. is this the kind of pain you got?
Avatar m tn Hello, I had to have ressection rectopexy to fix my colon because my twisted colon which was undiagnosed for years led to internal prolapse. It was a difficult surgery to go through but hopefully should help. You would need to see a colon-rectal specialist for this. Hope you get relief soon!
Avatar f tn With that, you are definitely in more control for your pain relief. Of course, you are limited based on what the doctor has prescribed as far as dosage, etc., but as Jaded mentioned, with the PCA pump, you don't have to wait for a nurse to come in and give you a shot - which can sometimes be a long wait, depending on how busy they are with other patients and whether they are in the midst of a shift change, etc.
Avatar m tn Sounds like the lining in your colon is a little clogged. When the colon is clogged, it is hard for your intestines to break down the food that you eat, because their is some gook sticking to/on your digestive track, which causes constipation, runny stool, dizziness, headaches, and to some point, nausea. here is how to fix the problem. you need to get your hands on some"COLON CLEANSER".
Avatar f tn At this point I am in so much sever chronic rectal pain the only relief I get is when I am asleep. My GI doctor has had me on several pain medications that do not work. anymore. My pain has became debilitating I can't do my own house work any more. I wish I could find a Specialist that would stop giving me pain medications and find the real problem and fix it.
1704915 tn?1357601254 You will find many people on this site that have had a colon resection or their entire colon removed. However, I am basically 100% sure that you will not find someone that has had a colon resection because of a long tortuous colon. There are people on this site though that have had their entire colon removed because of chronic constipation that could not be controlled with medication.
Avatar n tn I'm not sure that my problem has to do with the colon or not, but I have been experiencing a lot of pressure from my rectum whenever I sit down. I have to stand to get some relief. I have also been having some changes in my bowel movements. My stools are loose and are narrow. I will be scheduled for a colonoscopy but I would like to knw if these symptoms are associated with colon cancer. Thank you.
Avatar f tn Hi. I'm going to apologize for the length of this question first. I have a few autoimmune diseases. My colon is twisted. After I had my hysterectomy, I became severely constipated. Flubs out my colon n intestines a twisted. Making it hard to do a colonoscopy. I've had pain on my right side (where colon is) for YEARS. Before my hysterectomy. That's part of the reason they gave me the hysterectomy. That didn't help obviously. U can feel the stool in my stomach.
Avatar f tn I've had spastic colon since I was about 15 or 16. I only got it when I ate Chili. Cramps, and immediate diarrhea. When I was pregnant with my first child, my pattern changed to severe cramps for about an hour before having diarrhea, then relief. So this happened occasionally. My doctor told me to watch out for lettuce and pepper. He was right.
Avatar m tn I had gone to my doc 3 weeks ago due to lower left adbominal pain. I also have constipation on and off - I use metamucil. He recommended for me to take docusate sodium stool softener. However, the pain is still there and it's actually getting somewhat worse. Now it feels like I'm being poked w/ a sharp object. No blood, no puss in my poop - so at least that's a good sign. It's worse when I lean forward.
Avatar m tn , severe constipation, I feel like a fist is under my upper right rib cage, sometimes feel relief but moves to the left upper and lower side, pain urinating on right side, frequent urination, sharp movement or bending over shoots a pain thru my lower left and right pelvic area, extremely depressed and I feel like giving up. Much worse during mentruation.
Avatar n tn We have a long time friend, Michael 38, who has a big problem but is too stubborn to ask. He has had rectal bleeding for a couple of years. Enough bleeding to where he can soak a pair of pants. Was told it is red blood. He is 6' 2" and has gone from 264# to 183# in less than 2 years. He is an alcoholic, heavy smoker & has epilepsy since childhood. (Sadly he has to drink 2-3 beers if he feels a seizure coming on. Even more sad is that it works for him.
Avatar f tn I have POTS, and with it comes stomach issues. After seeing multiple GI's and surgeons, doing pelvic floor rehabilitation, many procedures, medications, etc.. my only option is to have my colon removed, due to "slow evacuation of the colon". I am not ready for that, so I deal with the repercussions until I am. I don't have Crohn's disease or ulcers, at least since my last endoscopy. But for years, I get these stomach flair ups.
Avatar f tn I had a colon resection of the sigmoid colon in Feb. 2007 with a temporary colostomy. While I had the colostomy my bowels would move 4-5 times a day. n The colostomy was reversed in April 2007. Prior to my surgery I suffered from chronic constipation for at least 35 years. Since having the colostomy reversed I've had nothing but problems with constipation, gas, bloating, pain, and cramps. I have to take high doses of magnesium and Vitamin C daily just to have a BM.
Avatar m tn My CT scan shows thickening of colon wall but the surgeon says that is not the reason of pain and that the pain may be a muscular pain. I feel that the pain in the lower abdomen which moves from middle to down is on account of strain caused because of exercise which has resulted in taring of muscle tissues. I am feeling very much uneasy on account of the pain. The surgeon suggested colonoscopy which I have to undergo.I am not able to attend my office work properly.
