Avatar f tn Overweight. Not sexually active. I have had pain in my left side for about 4 days. A dull pain, not sharp. I am not constipated, moving things at a regular pace. Pain is to the left of the belly button and occassionally on the far left side above the hip. BP 136/30, had a urinalysis which was normal. A slight tenderness over left hip when touching. No nausea or vomiting. I have had intermittent diarrhea or constipation for years. No fever. Have not had this dull pain before.
Avatar f tn I was and am still having pain on my left side as well so i went to the doc and he sent me to the GI doc and he found pre cancer on a couple of areas in my colon by colonoscopy. there are other things specifically on the left side you can think about other than the ovaries. I have intestinal, colon, ovarian, uterin, and fillopian tube issues and I got all of it checked out. Yes listen to us dont ignore pain. Pain is there for a reason. To tell your body there is something going on.
Avatar f tn The past few weeks I've had a sharp pain in my left side. It just comes and goes, I can be sitting or standing when it happens. I do have IBS. So it could be that? I'm thinking my colon? Any advice?
Avatar n tn All of a sudden I have a severe pain on my left side under my rib cage. I know I don't have gas, what could the problem be. Could it be my appendix??
Avatar f tn Not only this but I have pain in my lower left quadrant where the piece of my colon was removed if I have to have a bowel movement and shortly after I have a bowel movement. When things move through my colon it literally feels like a big mass trying to make it's way down a tiny tube. I go from being constipated to having diarrhea. My stool looks to be slightly green in color and sometimes is kind of "fatty" looking. (broken into loose pieces, lightly colored, etc).
Avatar f tn I have had lower pain in my left side and around my back for 5 days. It feels like gas but took medicine and did not help. it hurts when i eat and then have to go to bathroom what could this be?
Avatar m tn I am being treated for ibs, stomach and esophagal ulcers, severe internal hemmorrhoids, had colon polyps removed, and acid reflux. I have moderate to severe pain in left side from bottom of ribcage down to waist. Am being told it is from ibs. Am currently taking skelaxin, dicyclomine, benefiber, mirolax, pantoprazole. Left side pain is not improving and may be getting worse. Need answers to this pain. What could be the cause?
Avatar n tn I am 64 yrs old and have had pain in my left side for two years and no one can seem to figure it out, I'm hoping maybe someone will recognize the symptoms and be able to guide me in the right direction. The pain is under my left breast and radiates to my back. It also radiates down my left side. It seems to build up and I have ended up in the hospital a year ago and again this December due to the pain being so bad.
Avatar n tn I have had so many problems in the last couple months that I really don't know where to start. My latest is a pain in my front upper left side right below my rib cage. It's not constant and it's not a bad pain but just enough to bother me and worry me. I am also having bad lower back pain that comes and goes. I have had changes in bowel movements going back and forth from constipation to loose stools.
Avatar n tn Lately i battle bouts of severe diarrhea at times and then a couple days later i will battle with severe constipation. No early signs of early colon cancer in family just some polyps in uncles and father who are in their 50's. Alcohol really tends to make my problem alot worse along with my horrible diet and heavy chain smoking probably are not helping the problem either. Thanx.
Avatar n tn I had colonoscopy and one polip was removed and I was told that I have inflamation at rectum so I am antibiotics and there is no blood any more but I have pain in my left side that goes to my back and in my legs. What do I do?
Avatar n tn I have been experiencing mild to moderate pain and numbness/tingling in my left arm and the left side of my face for the last 7 days. Along with intermittent chest pain.. On the other side, i m suffering from indigestion problems at the same time. I m smoker since 10 yrs, I have a family history of cardiac disease. I am 28 yo male. Avatar f tn So I have a weird feeling in my left side, can’t tell if it’s coming from my colon or intestines. I just came off of Cipro treating a uti and it was more painful during my medication. Pain is going away but anytime I need to make a bowel movement or if I breathe a certain way there’s a weird sensation under my left rib cage and down on my waist. I’m not sure if this is just going to take a while to go away because I did suffered from a pretty bad uti. Also still bloated.
Avatar f tn Well I've been having a sharp pain in my left side along with nausea, sometimes vomiting, fever, and then diarrhea. It comes on very quickly at anytime and usually lasts for about an hour. I've also had blood in my stool. This has been going on for a few years now and the older I get the more concerned I am. It happened the other day and the pain in my side was so bad I couldn't even stand up. The pain is unbearable. I'm only 18 and pretty healthy. What could it be?
1485165 tn?1288351380 Hi Sometimes you can have some bowel problems in early pregnancy like constipation that can cause a right or left side pain that comes and goes. If it doesnt get better i would check with the doc. Take care Congratulations!!
Avatar f tn But the constant pain that I have is not a spastic colon pain, it is intense and continues the entire day, non stop. How will I know if it is a diverticulosis, what do I need to do to identify, and what is the treatment for it?
Avatar f tn I've had a mild ache in my lower left rib area, sometimes in my mid back for a few weeks. One rib seems to be popping if I press on it which I don't recall happening before. I phoned the doctors office and they said to wait 1-2 weeks, take Advil and see how it goes. Is my doc being too casual about this? Of course I started googling and diagnosed myself with everything from slipping rib syndrome to pancreatic cancer.
5160575 tn?1364509880 Hello and Sorry for the late reply. It may not be related, the bowel movements and problems with urination. Gas can get trapped if there is an obstruction to the bowel or if the mobility of the colon is impaired. The pain could be renal colic. Small stones can obstruct the passage of urine and when the body tries to 'push' against the blockade this results in colic, which is severe attacks of pain.
Avatar f tn For the past few days I have this outrageous pain in my lower left side. It hurts so bad and after I eat I get all bloated and I am constipated and even have a hard time passing gas. Anybody know what it could be! I see the doctor tomorrow but I'm in so much pain and would love if someone knew of any home remedies?
Avatar n tn What is on the extreme lower left side of the body just below the abdominal area?
Avatar n tn He has severe pain in his upper left side, under rib cage – particularly after eating. He has had 2 colonoscopies, upper and lower GI with contrast, and an ultra sound. Doctor has been treating him for Crohn's, but NONE of the medications are working. He has tried Sulfasalazine, Asocol, Imuriad, Lealda, etc. ALL of them cause him to have SEVERE LEG CRAMPS unless he drink ridiculous amounts of water. He has had the traditional rounds of prednisone and antibiotics, but to no avail.
Avatar f tn Is the pain worse after you eat? Pain on the upper right side that is related to gallbladder also is famous for causing pain in the back also. How long have you had this pain. I would go to a GI Doc and have test run if it continues past a week.
Avatar f tn Is this a normal after surgery pain? Colon resection due to diverticulitis, ostomy, then reconnection. Similar pain to before colonectomy, where I couldn't tell if it was feminine pain or colon pain. Still can't tell. Ocassionally, I have similar pain on the right side, too. Also some pain when I raise my left leg. Obviously I have concerns and want to make sure there isn't a problem. I wasn't told any symptoms to watch out for, or any possible complications.
