I trust mine, they look for chromosomes of Xx for girl or XY for boy. Unless your child is intersex it is kind of hard to mistake the two.

it may have to do with the lesser number of chromasomal material since they are XY some mutations are terminal cause they only have one dose but girls have extra being XX if they are missing one they still have the other part to fall back on and it may cause problems but not life threatening.
