1207048 tn?1282174304 I have a Coldplay obsession happening lately. Drives my son potty. We have Metallica happening at one end of the house and Coldplay at the other. Talk about a clash of cultures. I LOVE their live versions. Although I think Chris Martin looks like a lunatic sometimes the way his nose almost touches his piano. Though as my daughter points out, if you are a multi-millionaire talented musician married to Gwynth Paltrow you can do whatever you blummin well like...!
Avatar f tn Till Kingdom Come by Coldplay makes me cry cuz I'm going to sing it to my baby but basically anything about my baby being born makes me cry cuz I'm so happy :p
Avatar f tn Does it hurt or burn when you pee?? Im stuck in the hosp now (day4) with a kidney infection because i had a UTI and didnt know...you may wanna get checked to be safe. It could totally just be the baby squishing your bladder though...

Avatar m tn I had my vocal chords damaged during intubation (2.5 hr. surgery). They kept telling me wait, it might be GERD, try this and that. Well, almost 2 years of suffering with a voice that sometimes was there and sometimes wasn't. It was very hoarse and I had trouble being heard. Next week I undergo "Direct Laryngoscopy" to remove vocal chord lesions. I have been told that I should have a 50% improvement in my voice and the lesions can come back.
Avatar m tn Hey ukulele! thanks your absolutely right that i always think about sexual things if i see someone naked or somthing, i am going to try the walking around the house naked thing. No they dont tease me. Heres what to do! Dont shave them all the time show them that you can grow some and then next time your naked infront of them just make sure their shaven so they know that you have some :P Thats what i do. They dont tease me for that.
Avatar f tn It's difficult to say exactly what's going on without examining you, but if your problem doesn't get better gradually, see your surgeon. There are a number of unusual situations where you can have issues after a trach tube is taken out.
Avatar f tn Normally the hoarseness is pretty much gone after the first or second week. You may find that even your vocal chords were actually bruised around a bit with the intubation tube. This can take a little longer to heal than an easy intubation. Grazing can happen for many reasons. The vocal chords are too far down the throat to be able to have a drink or food to help them.
681148 tn?1437661591 t know if it has anything to do with Fibromyalgia or not, but it is a type of muscle spasm. I remember how embarrassed I would get when the vocal chords would spasm while I was sitting in class while the teacher was lecturing. Everyone would turn around and look at me and the teacher would just glare at me like I was being disruptive and rude on purpose. Thankfully, he didn't decide to take it further and hold me after class.
787406 tn?1339203183 To come on suddenly would be medical emergency, and the cause could be the rupture of the papillary heart muscle (area that attaches chords to valve leaflets) or the chords could break away from the leaflets, etc. Sometimes perhaps the left ventricle can quickly enlarge and that would skew the opening (orifice), but there would be other signs and symptoms associated.
Avatar n tn I would suggest talking to and ENT about the problem with the vocal chords - they may need to run a scope down your throat to visualize the chords and see what is happening. Continue to drink tons of water to flush out the radiation and use some throat spray to see if that helps but see and ENT.
Avatar m tn hello, im having a little trouble yelling or singing loudly. before, i used to yell and sing loudly for as long as i could without any problems, but now when i try to do that it feels like my throat gets fatigued or i have a bit of disconfort. speaking in a normal volume i have no problem with. All this began when i tried to lift a really heavy object and as i heaved i flexed my neck muscles with too much force. thats when i felt the change.
Avatar f tn m experiencing problems with my voice. My throat feels kinked, and I can feel my vocal chords strain when I speak. When I sing my chords strain, my range is SHOT, and I can feel that the vocal chords are not moving. Is this normal? Will it subside? What can I do to help this??? I am missing out on a big part of my life that I MISS HORRIBLY.
Avatar m tn GERD sometimes can cause problems where the stomach contents aspirate high enough up the esophagus to reach the voice chords or into your lungs. When it hits the sensitive tissue of the vocal chords it does damage and the response is to produce mucous. It's only been a few days, and you don't give much information to go on, so the simplest thing would be to go to your doctor and get it checked out.
Avatar n tn For some insight, the papillary musce is where the heart valves are tethered with chords tindae. The condition is of interest to me because I had an enlarged left ventricle years ago and now have mitral valve regurgitation. When the left ventricle enlarges that stresses the chords (stretches, elongates), and it may not be able to completely close the valve opening with the result of blood backflow. Sometimes the chord tindae may tear away from the papillary.
Avatar f tn I wake up often with my hands on my public area. Very often, actually, probably around twice every week or two. This has been happening for years, probably since middle school (I am a highschool senior). When I'm on my period, I wake up with blood under my nails for a good day or two. Aside from this, I don't know how to tell if I am masturbating, itching, or simply putting my hand there in some sort of sense of security.
Avatar m tn Since mid May I've been battling voice loss. I haven't been able to sing fully since then, and now it is becoming painful to speak at times. It's been 5 months now. My vocal chords are pink and inflamed, and I have pre-nodules (small bumps) developing on them. Can anyone offer any new advice? The doctors think it could be caused by: Allergies, or Reflux. Allergies: No allergy symptoms at all.
Avatar n tn The cough worsened and I started vomiting when coughing. Although I am now coughing less, I have lost my voice which means I cannot work. My chest hurts because of the strain on my muscles. My GP has listened to my chest and says that it is clear. I have asthma but this is not related to this as far as I am aware. I am currently awaiting an appointment with ENT as my GP thinks I may have damaged my vocal chords but wondered if you have any advise in the meanwhile?
929504 tn?1332585934 It will take time for your vocal chords to settle down. The intubation tube often grazes them and it often does not show up till a bit later. Since the thyroid is no longer pressing against your trachea, it could be that the coal chords are re-learning, so to speak how to be in the correct range for you. If it still gives you grief, as Laura says give the doctor a call.
Avatar m tn I cut my left index finger on the second joint, its healed so there is no scab but the scar keeps callusing and it aches a little specially when i play bare chords on my guitar did it just heal wrong? might there be stuff in there still? or do calluses caused by cuts on your palm skin always keep callusing forever?
Avatar n tn Just a little dryness in the vocal chords that made me cough a fair bit. Often steam can help relieve the chords. Good luck!
Avatar f tn There can be many causes. Some of them are: result of infection, polyps on your vocal chords, Spasmodic Dysphonia (google: Spasmodic Dysphonia Scott Adams, to get best info), or you could be straining your voice by using it wrong, like I did, then consult Dr. Morton Cooper, whose book is called Change YOur Voice, Change Your Life.
Avatar m tn t feel any wrong but I still cannot sing anything in falsetto nor head voice. I suppose my vocal chords are still swollen cause the only thing i can hear and feel is the air coming through my chords with no sound while singing in high pitches. Still is it normal to last over 2 weeks already? I am a little afraid I could do something wrong with my voice by drinking alcohol after intensive singing during concert.
Avatar n tn s suppose to take a week to receive those results. He saw that my vocal chords are swollen which has caused what I thought was laryngitis but it had gone on far too long for that. He referred me to an ENT for the vocal chords. My problems actually started with a bout of strep throat. After a couple rounds of antibiotics, I developed oral thrush. Then it was pneumonia. I've had almost 4mo of pure H!!! I hope an expert will hop on here and help you out.
