However, if you look up and resear the war powers act, no one can decide if it is or is not the Presidents right to declare war apart from congress. lol This is where it gets sticky. It still is not agreed upon from what I understand one way or the other, is still up for intrepetation. Regardless, at a time when the pugs are making points by defunding and all, it is a political ploy imo.

Avatar f tn Would it be too much to ask at some point that we at least fund the war, like we used to do in the past with “war bonds” and taxes? Often when I bring up the issue of the unfunded wars in Iraq and Afghanistan people assume that they are paid for – we’ll let me assure you right now they are not paid for with anything more than IOU’s at this point. Even if the war in Afghanistan ended tomorrow - we will be paying for this particular war for many years to come.

I honestly wonder sometimes why anyone would want to go thru what Obama has had to put up with for 400thou a year. I like Obama, and I do think he is doing the best job that he can do and I will be voting for him again. Not looking like much else to choose from and I dont like the antics of the gop.

Avatar m tn There is no way of knowing how a president today would have fared when faced with the prospect of the First or Second World War, or how they would have handled the advent of the Cold War with the Soviet Union.
