we don't blood test children for herpes . we don't have fda approved tests that are accurate in them until they are at least 14 years of age ( exception being we still do use herpes igm testing in infants under 1 year ). once your children are old enough to have "the talk" with them, let them know that hsv1 is the cause of cold sores, 1 out of every 3 people they know has it by their teenage years and to be aware of it.

To me none of it is ever good but war is war and its been going on for a long time and will for a long time to come. Im not sure why it is now that all this becomes such a big deal. Tht s whole entire pregnancy I've noticed that my family just doesn't seem to be interested to hear how I'm doing, with the exception of my grandmother. If I don't call them I get no phone calls from any of my family. This has been bugging me ever since I told them that we're expecting again. Both my husband and I were talking about it and it feels like we're the black sheep of the family because we live in another state.
