This came up around my mouth a few days ago. Today I bought cream for it (5% w/w). I just want to confirm this is a cold sore? Anything else I should be doing about it? This is the 2nd or 3rd time i've had a little bump in the same spot near my lips, am I going to have this reoccur for the rest of my life? I should add that this time I tried squeezing it because I hoped it was a zit.

So I get cold sores every once in a while, I had one a month and half ago, so i thought i was in the clear, but what do you know on Sunday I get one, and I'm supposed to go on a trip with my girl friend this weekend. Right now it looks like its in the healing stage, no more blisters just light scabbing. I've been using alcohol to dry it and keep it clean, also took some cold sore medicine for it. I feel like the alcohol has killed the virus that was present.
So I wake up the other day and have a very big, very painful cold sore on my lip. This cold sore is not the same as my other familiar friend that I have been getting very random visits from for the past 13 years; this new cold sore is huge, very painful and in a different spot. This "new" cold sore is on the opposite side of my face and is on the upper lip instead of the usual lower lip.
I have been out in the cold weather a lot prior to getting sick (so maybe its just a cold), began taking a new B vitamin complex (maybe this explains the tongue soreness), but two days after my encounter with these two guys, I started feeling run down, and now (a week and a half later), I have a cough, fatigue, headache, runny nose, an extremely sore tongue (actually my tongue is so sore I can hardly eat anything without it causing extreme pain, and I can see faint spots where the little folds
Everything started with a cold sore. So went to the doctor he gave me acyloir,cold sore went away in 2-3days. Then i started noticing little bumps around my mouth thought could cold sore. Gradually it started spreading on my chin, my mouth. Went to dermatologist doctor diagnosed me with perioral dermatitis.she prescribe some type of ointment and it made worse my mouth was extremely red,burning,and itchy. So i decided to go to different who prescribed me doxycylclie 100 mg 2x a day.
ok so im a male never had sex my ex has performed oral unprotected on me 2 or 3 times she took good care of her mouth and my new girl friend gave me unprotected oral 2 weeks ago and she had a cold sor on her mouth today she woke up with flu symptoms runny nose fever chills sore body congestion stuffy nose so now im freakin that i have hiv and gave it to her whats the risk that i have it and gave it to her please help im almost in tears
Also, cold sores typically appear outside the mouth – usually, under the nose, around the lips, or under the chin while canker sores occur inside the mouth.
Pain from a canker sore generally lessens in a few days and the sores usually heal without treatment in about a week or two. Avoid spicy or acidic foods during this time.
But if the sores last for more than 3 wks or start spreading then pls consult a dermatologist. In that case herpes simplex I has to be ruled out.

Anyway, four nights ago, I had a tingling sensation between my nose and lip. I thought it would be another cold sore in my nose. Instead, I woke up with swelling and pain just behind my right canine tooth on the alveolar ridge. I've woken to pain like this before, too, so at first I didn't think anything of it.
I think mentally i have been thinking so much about it that i feel like i have scratch it but it isnt the same feeling like my nose. What I was saying was that if you have oral HSV 1, and gave her oral sex (which you said you did), you could have given her genital HSV 1 from your mouth, even if you had no cold sore present at the time. This is actually not an uncommon occurrence in my practice. And if you do have it orally, then it is unlikely that you will get it genitally. About 56% of the population up to age 50 have HSV 1, yes.
I recently had cold sore on my lip. (Nothing new I have been getting them for years) My cold sore healed about a week ago. 3 days ago I noticed a itch on my left thumb. Worried it may be herpes, I covered it with a bandaid. I never put my fingers to my mouth, because of the cold sores, but I had the flu and was coughing. I am pretty good about disinfecting/or washing my hands after coughing, but could I get herpes on my hand this way?
Sometimes my wife gets cold sores. Either up by her nose or on the edge of her mouth near her lips. It's happened since before I've known her over 10 years ago. This happens maybe once or twice a year. I have never had a cold sore. During or around the time of a cold sore we don't participate in oral sex or kissing at all in fear of passing something to myself. Are we being crazy?

I cough n sneeze all the time now my symptoms have gotten worse cuz its been going on so long I have sore throat, and ear ache. I plug my nose and mouth and blow until I hear and feel a mild POP in my ears, that relieves the pressure in my ears, I take Claritin in the day, benadryl at night, Delsum cough medicine which really helps by the way! I use saline non medicated nose spray and gargle with warm salt water and for my sore throat I sometimes use Cepacol cough drops.

I have one more question regarding HSV-1 transmission. I recently got a cold sore in my nose (I think) it was a fluid filled blister that hurt and it eventually scabbed over. I've never had a cold sore in my nose which is why this is new to me.
This sounds like complete paranoia and I'm hoping to get over this, but is there any chance of transmission to a baby if for example a piece of the scab or surrounding boogers fell out of my nose while I was changing her diaper.
I'm pretty sure a cold sore occurs more often on the lip, chin and nose. My sores did blister and have brown scabs. It only affected the left corner of my mouth and not a single blister sore on my whole lip, chin and nose. It hard to say I caught herpes because I never had any type of sex or kissed a person in the mouth or did I share drinks. Let me list a bunch of things that might have caused this sore.
