cold remedies safe for pregnancy

Thanks Ladies! Unfortunately I think I'm gonna have to cave in and go to the dr because it has turned into a horrible chest cold.

Just wondering what your doctors or midwives have deemed as "safe" cold medications to take during pregnancy. My midwife gave me a list of meds that does include Tylenol, Tylenol Sinus and Tylenol PM, but what I'd like to take is Tylenol Cold/Congestion. (Well, I'd rather not take anything but this miserable head cold is keeping me up all night... if I lie down, my sinuses immediately plug up...) I'm doing all the natural remedies and they are working ok.

I dealt with the cold for 4 days I felt horrible and I'm over due, you can drink mint tea add lemon and honey, drink lots of fluids nothing cold , soup as we'll helps . If you do shower go straight to bed . Be covered up. Also I was taking Tylenol and made me feel better till the 4th day but it helps. I was takin it twice a day. Stay in and rest I took my third day and my bf made me teas , soups , he let me sleep all day and next day I was feeling so much better.

HI LADIES ANYONE KNOW OF ANYTHING SAFE TO DRINK OR TAKE FOR THE TROAT?

Tums are really safe for heartburn during your pregnancy, I usually take them dont need them alot but there the safe ones for pregnancy since other brands might contain penicillin.

My advice to ask a pharmacist (or doctor) what is safe to take. During my last pregnancy, I got 3 really bad colds and the farther I got into my pregnancy (30 weeks +) I had more options of what was "safe" to take....and I asked a pharmacist. It depends on the symptoms, but I was told that saline sprays and throat lozenges are safe....and then, when I was farther along, I was able to take over the counter cold remedies (ie. Tylenol Cold/Sinus).

Tylenol is safe, if you have a fever I'd take it, if not just decaffeinated teas.

sorry vicks rub...some doctors will give you a list of "pregnancy safe cough and cold medicine" but I always refused to take it so I'm not familiar with the safe ones.

Also eating garlic is good, not really pleasant but it works. Google cold home remedies and they can properly tell you the steps. Be patient they work. I had a nasty cough with mucus and didn't want to take medicine to be safe.

m allergic to cold medicine, so I always use natural remedies. As soon as I feel a cold coming on, I double my Vitamin C. I also steam fresh mint leaves for congestion and make and my own vitamin water using mint leaves, fresh cut lemons and limes. I can usually kick a cold within 2-3 days using these remedies. I have CAD and controlled high blood pressure. I also have MVP. I am a 55 year old female. 5'8" and weigh about 175. I would like to know if Cordicidan(spelling?) HBP is safe to take for congestion my condition?. When I do get a cold I suffer much. If not Cordicidan that what would be safe?

unfortunately theres not much you can do while pregnant. you can take benedryl for the stuffy nose and itchy throat. thats about it though. nasal issues are common with pregnancy anyway so unfortunately youll be dealing with that allot. benedryl and Tylenol only.
