Avatar f tn Ever since I got pregnant my hands have been really cold I know it's cold outside but i'v never had this problem before.
Avatar f tn My hands always feel cold after i take allergy medication. Does this happen to anyone else? And why does it do that?
1302779 tn?1287405029 This can often result in one having cold hands, or just being cold in general. Many people attribute things to just getting older when it's actually their thyroid causing the problem. Age can cause these symptoms but it wouldn't hurt to rule out any thyroid issues. My kids make fun of me for my knee socks because my feet are always cold, and I'm older than you. I always wondered when I was younger why older women always had a sweater on when it was warm outside......now I know.

Avatar f tn I plan on going back to being vegetarian and still breast feeding once baby is born in 3 weeks (I'm beih induced). do you have any tips on what I can supplement or things to do so my supply doesn't run out and my baby gets what she needs through my milk?
Avatar n tn There are many good vegetarian protein sources. Nuts, beans, higher protein whole grains and seeds and grain-like foods. I'd go buy a few books on vegetarian cooking. But know that not everyone is equipped to do well as a vegetarian -- most vegetarians do it for ideological reasons and it is harder to get all your nutrients as a vegetarian, particularly methionine and B12, so you do have to learn how to do it well.
Avatar f tn I am a former vegetarian of 5 years. When I was a vegetarian I was not being very responsible in regards to getting adequate nutrition which caused my thyroid to become imbalanced. I lost 15 pounds in one month, and I didn’t weigh very much to being with. I felt very, very sick and consequently started eating meat again. I still feel that animal abuse is wrong, but you can get meat from local farmers where you know how the animals are treated.
1201598 tn?1265473722 You are going to have to work a little harder to get that protein in but it can be done. Do your homework and study up on a vegetarian lifestyle. Some ways you can get protein is soy, nuts and beans. My teenage daughter wanted to be a vegetarian for a few years so I had to learn how to cook vegetarian. She's not doing it so much anymore but I still use soy, like the soy crumbles in soups or the firm tofu in veggie stir fries. She also likes the Boca burgers, which is a soy burger.
1051017 tn?1349636853 i am a vegetarian and im wondering if anyone out there can give me some good recipe ideas for when i do eventually get pregnant? im not vegan but i do struggle to eat well. any ideas?
1530658 tn?1299766324 I am curious to hear from other vegetarians who are ttc and who have already given birth and are raising their kids vegetarian as well. I moderate my soy intake and I do still eat cheese and seafood.
6231275 tn?1379901818 I just started a vegetarian diet what would be the best diet for vegetarian to lose weight?
Avatar n tn I also started getting tiny rashes on my head and with red in colour. To tackle the cold hands and feet and unusual cold in the abdomen, my doctor precribed me bralix tabs 7.5mg (clidinium bromide 2.5mg and chlodiazepoxide 5mg). The unusual coldness disppeared. no headaches and back pains. But the said rashes are still there. I also got few swelling at the back of the neck where the neck meets the spine. My TSH levels were done it was in the lab normal range.
Avatar n tn m a 25 year old girl, and as of about a week ago, I have been experiencing strange cramps and numbness in my hands and arms during and after intercourse. It generally begins as a tingling (think as if a limb were falling asleep) in my fingers and toes, along with muscle twitching and cramping in my face (mild though) and rises into almost a paralysis in both arms.
Avatar n tn 5 years ago, I started to have itchy hands and feet, usually at night everyday. I noticed severe itching at just hands and feets with grilled food, especially one kind of grilled chicken. I checked with doctors, had prick test and blood test, but the allergy tests results for meat products came negative. I tried vegetarian for a while, but it didn't change the allergy condition in me. I have to use antihistamine on alternate days and cause of my allergy is still unknown.
Avatar n tn I sometimes get dizzy when I stand up and bend over,When I lay flat in bed some nights My heart is racing, I am constantly exhausted and so tired, I get tired walking a 100 yards to my mail box ! ,my hands and feet are constiantly so cold they sometimes go numb and I have to run hot water on them to warm them up.I ache all over like I was in a car accident the night before....Doctor says not to worry cause its just plain old anemia..well I'm not so sure..
Avatar f tn My feet and hands are always freezing cold and my feet although they are cold, they sweat . I'm always under blankets about three and I have socks on. Do any other pregnant mom's feel like this?
Avatar f tn My hands are almost always very cold and sometimes after that they start to sweat, and sometimes it's the other way around. They start to sweat then get very cold. What could be the reason for that?
709686 tn?1277432159 I think 20mg is the standard dose, to be taken between 1/2 hour and one hour of your major meal of the day. Because of an extreme problem with acid reflux I took as much as 80mg daily for a short amount of time before surgery, but I took 20mg daily for perhaps twenty years with no known side affects. I think if I were you, I'd check with your doctor about the symtom of cold hands after eating sugar, and do so at once, it sounds like a diabetic issue.
Avatar n tn I am writing this for my sister. In the winter she gets extremely cold hands and feet and her fingernails turn purple. She is not normally that cold to touch, as much as she feels cold herself. It actually causes pain. It leaves in the summer but in the winter its pretty bad, socks doesn't help, etc. She is only 21, so I was just wondering everyones take on it. She hasn't went to the doc yet...
Avatar f tn It is good that you are vegetarian as it is more healthy provided you are a non fat vegetarian (try to go to no cheese no oil). Just thought I would add that since I am vegan. I cook with water instead of oil. You can look up the site www.drmcdougall.com and he has a 10 days start diet that talks about a fat free vegan diet. But, it is harder to cut out the fat and cheese etc. It is a very very healthy diet. Read the what the people that have been on it say.
Avatar f tn Nuts. High in protein and fiber, and although expensive by the pound you don't need very many at a time. There are a million foods made out of soy and other legumes, high in protein. Bananas -- lots of energy, high in electrolytes. Seeds -- hemp seeds most complete vegetable protein, even more complete than soy. Whole grain pasta -- you can get it made out of brown rice, spelt, kamut, amaranth, even with protein added from legumes. There's a world of food out there.
Avatar m tn For Digesting Non-vegetarian food calcium is required. Hence the body becomes deficient in calcium if Non-vegetarian food is consumed. Hence non-vegetarian food is not recommended for women. b) Egg, Chocolate, Tinned Food c) Avoid cold food (ice cream). Avatar f tn I really feel like I have Hypothyroid. I mean it's been a mystery on why even though I would start a really strict diet and excerise plan and stick to it for months I would keep on every pound. Or how I randomly would shift into this terrible sad mood or go to irratibility in seconds. My cycles are all out of whack I can't predict them. I used to drink and eat lots of soy products because I'm vegetarian. My hairs falling out, I'm exhausted at all times and yet cannot sleep well.
